Bathroom floor upon check-in

I was visiting my family in Maine for the first time in two years (due to the pandemic). It was also the occasion of my birthday as well as my brother's 60th. My mother insisted that I stay at a "nice hotel" so recommended The Brunswick Hotel. At $429 per night for Friday and Saturday and $329 for Sunday night, as well as the hotel's assurances of a focus on health and safety due to COVID-19, one should absolutely expect that the room would be clean. Unfortunately, that was not the case. There were long dark hairs on the floor of the bathroom (which also had smears of dirt) as well as short dark hairs in the shower. The bathroom vanity was extremely dusty and the light over the mirror did not work. The lamp on the night table was also caked in dust. I stopped by hotel reception on my way out the first day to advise them that the room was not clean and ask them to please ensure that it was upon my return later that day. It was somewhat better but the lamp still had not been dusted and there was still a short dark hair in the shower. So, clearly their focus was not on cleanliness. On the third night they failed to empty the wastebaskets and recyclables as well as replace the dirty washcloth in the bathroom. At a cost of $1,167 for three nights in an unclean room, this hotel was a total failure and I would not recommend a stay here.

Visited the restaurant. Great service, cocktails, and food. Plenty of choices for all tastes.

I'm not going to be long winded on this review. I brought a Lacrosse team here for a competition…read more Our stay is here at the Comfort Inn and Suites. I immediately ran in to see if they had a iPhone charger, I was welcomed in by Rachel the front desk associate. Let me tell y'all something, her smile, her cheeks and laughter immediately put me in a better mood (the wind in this state was a bugar bear). I inquired if she had a charger, I promise I could see her in the lost and found box throwing stuff around diligently looking for me a charger. She came out from the back with a charger looking like she had been to hell and back hair everywhere Rachel immediately handed my group their room keys and I went out to move the bus. Their was plenty of bus parking 2 lots as a mater of fact. I go back in and Rachel hands me my key and we started chit chatting about the weather and Brunswick, Maine. We talked about the weather blah blah. Ok, so I go to my room and it was warm and cozy, they had the heat going strong..,,.ahhh yeah! I jump on my bed and rubbed my head on the pillows, oh yes just what I expected from Comfort Inn's cotton soft pillows. I plug in the charger and dang it's no good. So I go downstairs to bother Rachel again, I needed her to dig a little more deeper in that box for another charger. She goes back in the back and this time I could hear books being thrown on the floor, boom, plop was all I heard. She returns with a journal, she opens it up and thumbs through the pages. So I asked what was that? She states it's a journal with a log of guests names, room number, date and what item was left behind. Neeeeever have that ever been done at any of the thousands of hotels I've stayed at. I would call a hotel, inquire about a left behind item be put on a 30 minute hold, they may even immediately tell you no housekeeping didn't find anything. (Let me give credit to a hotel in Canada, they mailed me my Roku I left behind). Ok, she hands me another and again we start chit chatting. Omg that woman had me rolling laughing!!! I know I laughed so hard and loud I could be heard on the 1st and 2nd floors. My stomach hurt so cause we kept expounding on the topic we was discussing and lawd that woman. I seriously had to hold myself up cause Rachel would not stop, she has the rosiest cheeks and so sweet. We both was grunting like pigs and that made us both laugh even harder. Finally, y'all to sum up my review of this Cottage themed Hotel, its a must to stay and Rachel to meet. I don't remember when was the last time I laughed so hard, Laugher is food for the soul. Thank you Rachel, anyone passing through Brunswick, Maine should most definitely stay at this Comfort Inn. I have a few things I need to point out. The microwave, fridge and vanity area was 3 feet tall off the ground. I went to check my door because it would say handicap nope not handicap. The furniture was out dated, however you couldn't tell. Ooops I did say I wouldn't be long winded hu?

If you have allergies to, or low tolerance for construction dust, choose another location. Otherwise: The new rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Front desk is polite and efficient. Breakfast is at 6am and always very good. We have stayed here many times in the past 10 years with no issue. Would suggest for an acceptable room at a fair price. It's not fancy but it's clean and comfortable perfect for a layover. Giving full stars because the renovations will end in a few months.
