After a lot of last minute searching for a coastal place to stay, we landed at the Greenleaf and it didn't disappoint. After searching their website and VRBO, I had a bit of a hard time wrapping my head around the setup. The property has two buildings that are directly across the street from the tugboat restaurant and water, each building has common living areas including kitchens and living rooms and there are plenty of porches to overlook the water. The Admiral's Quarters building is closer to the water. The Inn has recently been renovated and it feels fresh, but there are a few spots that could still use a bit of a touch up. It's happening, but it appears that the innkeeper is doing a lot himself. read more

We loved our stay at Greenleaf Inn. The room was spa-like and well equipped with a refrigerator and balcony with chairs looking out to Boothbay Harbor. Bed was super comfortable and the bath/shower was as clean and tidy as a four star hotel. Jersey (John) was a terrific host ensuring we had anything we needed including a stocked fridge, flowers throughout public areas and smart recommendations for what to do locally. We plan to return and would highly recommend this Inn! read more

This charming wellappointed freshly renovated inn anticipates the guests' needs and provides! Highly recommend for an old world stay with innumerable modern comforts. Good location and on site parking are pluses, friendly staff proud of the places adds to the visit. Blueberry muffins are A+. read more

KEPT OUR MONEY, NO REFUND, POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE! My wife and I were supposed to stay here the 28/29 of June 2025. American Airlines canceled multiple flights, and we were never able to get there. We contacted Greenleaf as soon as we started having flight problems two days before our arrival date. The man we spoke to lead us to believe that they would work with us to give us a refund. He stated several times that he would notify the booking agent, but that the agent was on Arizona time and that they would contact us later. Despite several calls, we have never received any communication from the booking agent. There has been no effort what so ever to work with us in any way. The airline refunded our fares, no problem with cancelations at other hotels, or rental cars. This place just gives the run around, with no contact, no follow-up, no nothing. POOR business practice! read more

Dated, tired property, not maintained. Dirty toilet. Old carpeting. Tiny TVs. No way does this place deserve stars. Keurig Coffee? Please. Staff was uninformed about recommendations for . . . anything! Location is good but not worth their price. Stay away. read more

The Tall Man and I only stayed here for one night, but it was a lovely time and a great getaway from the city. We stayed in room #4, which had nice views from either window, a king size bed, and just a generally clean and comfortable feeling. The staff was great and very welcoming. We got a brief tour around both houses, and spent some time after dinner lounging in the first floor dining/living area while munching on homemade cookies. Home away from home! Breakfast in the morning was unique and delicious. I have some dietary restrictions, which they were happy to accommodate. I'm definitely looking forward to our next stay! An amazing location. Young enthusiastic owners, managers and staff. They are all happy to be there and know the pulse of the local events and sites. Breakfast was full of delicacies with great choices and catering to special requests. The rooms were clean and well sized with great views of a picturesque harbor. The beds were very comfortable. The common areas are well resourced with refreshments, binoculars and books. Even though you are a short walk from the main attractions and eateries, it was quiet and peaceful. Tyler's recommendations for dinner and lunch were spot-on for our 4 night stay. Ben was a fantastic host. We will definitely be back. read more

This is our second visit to Greenleaf Inn and loved our experience! Ben, the owner and host, is welcoming and lovely! Each night he knew we enjoyed sitting by the fire and having cocktails and would start up a lovely roaring fire for us. Rooms are beautiful, very clean with patios and gorgeous views. Bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast menu was varied and tasty! Can't thank the staff enough for an amazing anniversary weekend - thank you Ben, Tyler and Juanita (apologies if I've misspelled your name - you were so sweet!). Here's the problem: I'm an introverted misanthrope about to review a bed and breakfast. The two things just don't go well together. Bed and Breakfasts are, I think, uniquely American in their predilection for that sort of in-your-face friendliness: getting to know the innkeepers, being introduced to other guests, and a lack of anonymity. For some, this is enjoyable, but my husband and I would rather spend vacation with each other than with the strangers staying across the hall - know what I mean? While the innkeeper introducing us to our neighbors is probably polite, that's too much togetherness for us! That being said, the Greenleaf Inn might be a perfectly wonderful B&B for people who enjoy that scene. For me, however, it was an up-and-down experience, with high points and low, and overall it was quite uneven. For example: The breakfasts were wonderful and a real high point of the day. But they were tiny. The house and grounds were beautiful and in a great location, but looking closer revealed that they skimped on some details: vinyl siding, a cheap-motel bathtub with pushbutton shampoo dispensers, and so on. The view was lovely, but from our room there was very little way to block out the sun, and we had a large eastward-facing window. Who knew it was bright daylight at 5 in the morning in Maine? (To their credit, I mentioned this at checkout and they said they would look into it.) I know this is a primo area and the price of the Greenleaf reflects that, but between the tourist-trapiness of Boothbay Harbor itself, plus the price of the accommodations, I don't think I'd stay here again. I'd rather stay in a quieter, less-costly part of the state. read more

This place was just great! It is in the middle of a fun little town, yet is separated enough that privacy is plentiful! The owners are great and are extremely friendly! Our room was clean and comfortable! The breakfast in the morning is made fresh and is delicious, a real New England treat. For my first time at a b&b the greenleaf inn pleased me beyond doubt, I hope to go back in the future and spend a few more days on my way up to bar harbor! You have got to check this place out if you are staying in Boothbay harbor! Until next time... read more

The space is immaculate, the staff very friendly and professional and the common areas are welcoming, warm and an incredibly comfortable place to perch while taking in the gorgeous views. I loved this place! My room had a private balcony, with a spectacular view overlooking the harbor and was charming and very comfortable. The television was a little small, but I didn't go to Maine to watch TV. The breakfasts were delicious, and cold drinks and coffee were available all day. The person who left the other review should NOT stay in a B&B because it's clear they'd rather be by themselves. Having stayed in B&B's from Maine to PA, I can honestly say that The Greenleaf Inn in Boothbay Harbor, ME was fantastic and rates amongst the best B&B's I've stayed at. The food was fabulous and more than you could ever eat, the room was clean, comfortable and charming and the view outstanding. Lots of cute shops and good restaurants within walking distance. Have already made my reservation to stay there next October. read more

This place is great! Not only are the accommodations way better than expected but both the hosts and views were outstanding! We stayed in Room # 6 with a great private deck looking out over the street and harbor. The inn is quiet and very relaxing with a great common room. Oh .... and did I mention the food? Breakfast was unique every day and great. I am vegan and the staff was more than accommodating to my requests. As the sign in the common room says: "Paradise Found"!! The Inns at Greenleaf Lane is the perfect place to stay. We took over the Greenleaf Inn and the Admiral's Quarters for our daughter's wedding this August. The inn is charming, within walking distance of town and the harbor, with a view that never gets old. Ben's breakfasts each morning were a delightful and delicious way to start the day. There are many common areas for my family to gather, but also private porches when people wanted to be alone with the view. Ben and Jeff are charming hosts who made us all feel at home. They worked very hard to make sure that the events surrounding the wedding were a hit. As so many members of my family said, "They hit a homerun." It's truly Maine at it's best. read more
