This is our new FAVORITE restaurant!! We drive over an hour to visit. Everything we've ever ordered is exceptional! Customer service is fabulous, too. A+

Naruto roll, Khao Grapow Moo Krob and Thai lime tea.

Drink was on point. Food was also great. Pork belly was seasoned just right, very crunchy and juice as well

I enjoyed a wonderful meal while in Johnson City this past week. Found this place on YELP and had to try it with all the wonderful reviews. Everything was very good except I didn't study the menu well enough to see that the wings were sweet instead of savory (but that was my fault). Go in and check them out!!!

If you are looking for something a little different Pinto can break the monotony of the same ole/ same ole. Their menu is varied and offers a lot choices. I ordered the Panang Curry Chicken(I added peas) and three vegetable spring rolls. I ordered it with a degree of heat of 1 (1 out of 4). The level one still had a kick! It was good. It was delivered in a metal pot along with a metal bowl of rice. The spring rolls were great. They were served with a dipping sauce. We all enjoyed our lunch. The portion size is gracious. The service was good. The Place was clean. They have a sanitation report hanging at their entrance with a sanitation grade of 98.

Don't follow GPS. GPS takes you to the back of the building and there's no entrance from that side. The big parking lot and complex just past McKinley (or just before depending on which way you're coming) is where you need to go. There is only one entrance so watch carefully. Once you find the right place, there is a large sign on the front of the restaurant. There is plenty of parking in the lot. I didn't notice any handicapped parking spaces but that's not the restaurant's fault. All parking is angled and you'll need to cross traffic lanes to get to the entrance. Walk up to the restaurant on the right. There are stairs and a ramp. Once you get to the top, turn left and enter. The order counter is straight ahead. The staff is friendly and I was greeted immediately. I ordered to go and it was ready in less than 15 minutes. The red curry was nicely spicy but not overwhelming (I ordered 2 on a scale of 4). There was a decent amount of ingredients and a lot of sauce. Flavor was very nice with the basil standing out and giving it a good balance. The rice was moist and slightly sticky. I will definitely be back to try more from the menu. They offer a wide variety and can satisfy any taste.

Found this restaurant while making a drop off at Wags to Riches. Next to Pike House Coffee Roasters. Pleasant interior and staff. Comfortable seating. Good Thai food. On this visit I tried the Curry Fried Rice with tofu--large portion! The green tea was tasty and comforting. My husband had the Chicken Teriyaki Lunch Special. There was lots of broccoli , but I didn't get the photo quick enough! The Thai Iced Tea came in a large glass.

Service was good, polite and patient. Food was delicious and flavorful! My family enjoyed every dish they got. No chance of a good pic, all 3 of our plates were empty and clean and we got the veggies spring rolls and the shrimp spring rolls (all were delicious!!) I would highly recommend this place.

    Chicken pad, Thai

So my daughter husband and I just ate here for dinner for the very first time today and altogether it was a good experience. There was only one woman who was serving but she did a great job. My daughter had the fried rice with chicken my husband had white rice with beef and bell peppers in a curry sauce and I had the chicken pad Thai, and we also shared the fried calamari as an appetizer.. (pictures included) To start off the fried calamari was pretty fresh with a very light and crispy dredge on it. I was hoping they were going to be the squids included, but it was just the calamari rings which is not a huge deal. There is a sweet chili sauce they serve it with which in my opinion was very generic and that's the first time I've ever had that type of sauce with calamari, so I'm not sure I would have it again. My daughters fried rice was OK. The flavor was a little different but it wasn't bad. My husband who had the rice with curry beef and bell peppers really enjoyed his meal and I have to say I'm not a fan of curry, but it was probably one of the best curries I've ever tasted, and the beef was nice and tender and I love that they put it in a little pot as you'll see in the picture which kept it nice and hot For the entire meal. I had the pad Thai, which I typically love, and I did eat every bite of it. Although the only downside was the sauce was a bit bland and didn't have enough flavor for my liking. When I took my first bite, I noticed that it was very light in flavor and as I continue eating it I noticed I needed more flavor from the sauce so that was a little disappointing, but other than that it was good.. My husband asked me if I would ever want to go back and I said yes, although I would probably try something different... The prices seemed a little on the high side to me, considering it was not an upscale restaurant, and nothing looked updated so that did surprise me But hopefully when I try something else, that might be a little bit better to my liking, the prices might match. I will say the food did come out a lot quicker than I was anticipating and it was very hot and everything tasted pretty fresh. I do know that a lot of restaurants around this area will lighten up their sauces, so they're not very spicy or potent and flavor and I understand that there are a lot of people that don't like that but when I go for this type of cuisine, I would like something more authentic with more flavor. .

First time here last week. Went for lunch on a Thursday as soon as they opened at 11am. We were the only people there whilst we ate (other than two people who picked up take out) Ordered the curry fried rice with tofu - taste was good, fair amount of tofu but, for $12 the portion was rather small. Couldn't have been more than a pint of rice total. My brother got the same but with chicken made with brown rice. I swear, he maybe got like 4 little thin pieces of chicken total. I was shocked. Not to mention his portion was even smaller than mine. And they charged his $2 more for the brown rice!! They did take the $2 off at checkout after my brother said something. The atmosphere was pleasant, clean, but slightly odd smell in the place (not food related) My brother will absolutely not return but I would be up for trying another dish and give it one more try.

Thai and Japanese cuisine shared under one roof. Things you should know: I. LOCATION Parking is very easy and stress free. There's a large open lot outside of the plaza Pinto is in. The only issue I encountered was Google Maps took me behind the building. It's off of Walnut St... If maps takes you off that, then you're headed in the wrong direction. Stay on Walnut Street and the red restaurant sign will steer you right. Hopefully that's something that can be fixed with maps. II. SERVICE Accomodating and excellent! Our waitress handled all our picky dietary needs well and with a positive attitude. She also carried good feedback with the menu and would ask the chef questions if there was a detail she didn't know the answer to. III. QUALITY The reason why I didn't give Pinto 5 stars. It was NOT BAD but it wasn't great either. My spring roll fell apart instantly. IV. CAPACITY For a Tuesday night, there was fair amount of seating available.

By far the best Thai food in the Tri Cities IMO. The staff is very friendly and the menu has dishes not found at other Thai places.

The restaurant and staff were typical Chinese vibe. I'll be honest, coming from NY, my expectations weren't high. I didn't even take pictures at first because I assumed there wouldn't be a review (and I usually won't post a negative one). When I tell you SHOCKED isn't even a strong enough word... I'm not kidding. We didn't want leftovers, so we ordered a few things to share. They brought kimchi and pickled cucumbers to the table. I'm not even a kimchi person, but this one was delicious; and the sweet, tangy cucumbers were fantastic. Wonton soup is always my barometer for good Chinese food. The broth was flavorful with just a little kick. The wontons were plump with filling and had a super thin wrapper-absolutely delicious. We tried both the egg roll and the spring roll-both spot on. The duck sauce and Chinese mustard were excellent too. For our main, we ordered General Tso's chicken (mild spice) with white rice. First of all... the platter was HUGE. Aside from being slightly spicier than I personally prefer, it was AMAZING. And yes...WHITE MEAT CHICKEN! Big chunks of juicy, crunchy chicken, large slices of onion (which I love), pieces of pepper, and a delicious sauce that coated everything perfectly. Halfway through the meal I realized I HAD to take a picture because this review was happening. This wasn't "good for Tennessee." This was genuinely DELICIOUS Chinese food. Yong Asian House-BRAVO!

Good thing I took a picture of my receipt when I had written the tip very clearly. The restaurant decided to instead change the tip and put whatever they wanted. This is fraudulent and is being reported to the appropriate institution. Original: Good food, decent service, decent atmosphere. To start off, food is actually pretty good! Vegetable spring rolls are crispy and tasty, however the duck sauce that it is served with is a little weird. It is not sweet like any other restaurant. They also have a decent hot and sour soup, however, the real star is their tom kaa soup (coconut soup). That soup is really flavorful and is great with steamed tofu. I also should suggest asking for the spice rack so that you can add a little spice to the soup. Make sure to get the spicy basil fried rice. This is really flavorful, and we got it hot (on their spice scale). This was a real stand out. We also got the pad Thai noodle dish which was pretty good. I do think the restaurant could've done a little bit more to make the dish flavorful, as the noodles were definitely on the lighter side for taste, and they were also clumped into one big mound. Lastly, we got the yellow curry with steamed tofu. This was pretty nice and mildly spiced. Big chunks of potato, pineapple, and bamboo shoots are the default vegetables in the curry. The restaurant is able to make many dishes either gluten-free or vegan. If you have either of these dietary restrictions, definitely check with the staff as they are able to accommodate. Now, service was OK. We were only checked on one time during our meal, and we had to keep getting the attention of the staff to provide us with extra utensils or bowls/plates. Our waters were left empty for a decent amount of time, and it seemed like staff were indifferent. This wouldn't be the worst, however, the restaurant default forces a 20% tip on groups of six or more. As we fell under that, I expected better service. Please also be aware that the restaurant forces a 3% surcharge for credit cards. This is a little disappointing as most credit card assures charge restaurants less than 3% for a transaction fee, so this restaurant is just passing on more fees to the customer, even more than what some credit card companies add. So just be prepared if you come as a party of six to pay an extra 23% on top of your bill (20% mandatory gratuity and 3% credit card fee).
