This review is exclusively for the food. Our family of 7 arrived and were seated promptly, and thats where the fun ended. The children ordered cheese pizza and Mac n cheese. Very typical kids food, but everything tasted cheap. The pasta did not taste house made, as the pasta was advertised. I ordered the "Famous" prime rib dip. The prime rib was overdone and bland, and the pretzel roll was very soggy. I would recommend they remove famous from the menu, because its probably only famous in the realm of bowling alley food. Especially at a price point of $16, I expected that prime rib to be absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked, which it was neither. I have a very hard time believing that the dinner menu is made from scratch. Its also ironic that they advertise a locally sourced seasonal menu, and at the same time are proud about importing ingredients. Are you local, or are you importing goods? read more

This review is just for the Pinstripes in Oak Brook. Today is Father's Day and boy were we disappointed!! We made a reservation for 3:45pm and asked on THREE SEPARATE CALLS if the Father's Day Brunch would still be on at that time and were told YES THREE TIMES!!! Upon our arrival we were told the brunch ended at 3pm. When we checked the web site no other information regarding the brunch was available other than they were having one. The hostess looked at us when we explained and said "sorry." We asked for a manager and were kept waiting and decided to leave. Beware. Would not recommend!! WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT FOR DAD!!!!!! read more

Actually surprisingly decent food and very good appetizers. Their tenderloin sliders are excellent. Their avocado and hummus appetizer is excellent. The best part of the place is they have outdoor seating. They have a great outdoor fire-pit that you can sit around and drink and eat snacks which is wonderful. Typically the place is empty in comparison the capacity of the location. read more

We love pinstripes. We go here frequently both for food and entertainment. Today's experience is not typical, but it's unacceptable. Pinstripes opens for Brunch at 10am on Sundays. Knowing we didn't have a reservation, we arrived at 9:50am. We were the first people there, and the hostess greeted us pleasantly. I identified us as a party of 6, and she said that they weren't open yet, but could get us seated in the bistro when they opened. We happily waited off to the side. Other people continued to stream in, and some began to be seated. At 10:05 I stepped back to the host stand to check in. The hostess I had originally spoken to was assisting another guest, so I was speaking to the manager. He asked if I had a reservation, which I informed him we did not. He told me the earliest we could be seated was 11:30am. I explained that I'd already spoken to the hostess, and she had already assured us we could be seated. He didn't even check with her, just said "well she's wrong." We went back and forth several times, and his responses were short and rude. I was nothing but pleasant, but was treated poorly regardless. This manager needs some major customer service training. When your staff makes mistakes, you own it and apologize for it, you don't use it as an excuse. Brunch looked amazing. We left hungry, disappointed, and a bit angry. read more

I recently had my 40th birthday party on one of the bocce ball courts. The process of reserving the court went very well and the sales person did a great job of assisting us. Of note, there a is a 21% service charge on the court rental and food service for parties. This is on top of what people will tip for the cash bar we had. We had a cash bar, and unfortunately the wait staff messed up several of the tabs. Some on the positive side and some on the negative side I heard. But still annoying for those on the negative side. We were allowed to bring in some store bought cake/pies. This was a plus. However, we asked the initial manager to bring them out 90 minutes into the party, and I don't think he conveyed this to the wait staff, as they missed the time. On a positive note, we had the bocce ball court reserved for two hours at the end of the night, and since nobody was on the courts after us, they let us continue to play a bit longer as we wrapped up the party. Thank You !!! I have also been here before where you can sit outside by the fire and have a waiter bring you drinks. This is awesome on a nice Spring/Fall night. They even have blankets if you need. However, it got a little cold/windy on this particular night. But give it a shot if you go... read more

I went to pinstripes for the $3 martini special on thursday for a few weeks in a row. Every time I went I kept getting the same server who would mess up our order and hardly ever came around to check up on us. When we went to talk to the manager, he basically said "sorry, maybe I'll hire another waitress." read more

My family and I love this place. They have really good happy hour deals and I believe they have 50% off wine bottles on Friday's - which is absolutely amazing. The food is always really delicious, but the service in the bar area wasn't that great. We had to go and ask for service twice, before anyone ever showed up. Other than that, I recommend trying it out. read more

Pinstripes - So much to try! - Bowling Near Me - Northbrook, Illinois

Let's start off with a mind blowing stat. I've bowled over 180 here. Now that you know I'm serious, let me tell you about this bowling alley. I like that they've taken 'swanky' bowling in different direction. Less like a club, and much less reliant on invented nostalgia for bowling in the 1950's than the other classy alleys of the day. They go more for old-world charm here with a rustic decor, beautiful wood beamed ceilings and sprawling bocce lanes. Plenty of people come here just to eat in their lounge or the Italian restaurant nestled in the back. They have great flat breads and a well-intentioned wine and beer program. The tenderloin sliders are a must. On the weekends, you are generally out of luck in getting a lane unless you've made a reservation. Ladies, if you've left the house without a good pair of gym socks to bowl in again, then you'll appreciate receiving a free pair of really great Pinstripes logo crew socks at the check in counter. Great for a mid-week office party! read more

Full disclosure - I came here for an out of town corporate conference and did not pay for anything but tip. I got bussed here with 50 other dudes and we were left loose with free food and a 4 hour open bar. Some places are very stingy with this but the staff was all very nice, and they brought us a constant stream of booze. Played bocce with some new friends and the bartenders would swing by and take out drink orders from us and then bring the drinks, really good service. The food wasn't groundbreaking but it was good catered food. Shout out the the awesome meat lasagna. If I lived in the area I would totally bring a group of friends here for a fun night out. read more

Review on the Sunday brunch only...Must agree with the other Yelpers, the Prime Rib is not up to par, Med to Med Well just ruins it. The other items were ok, but not very memorable...what was strange was that they had smoked salmon with all the fixens but no cream cheese and croissants without jelly or jams, asked our waiter if we get some but did not have any. Wait staff was very good and plates were cleared quickly, the atmosphere was upscale for a bowling alley. One buyer beware tip, brunch is $25, coffee, juice soda or ice tea is extra add it all up and you come close to what you would pay at Shaws. read more

So many activities to do here, and yet my review is based ONLY on the food. They do it up right here, everything fresh and made to order. You're getting waaaaay more here than pizza burgers and fries. Although, the burger is very good. So are the flatbreak pizzas and the pasta dishes. They have some great beers, spirits and wines to boot here as well. The only issue is it's a tad bit pricey. I have heard the same for the bowling and bocce as well. This is the reason I would rather go to Brunswick Zone for bowling, or my own backyard when it comes to Bocce Ball. read more

Good food, good service, good friends, good times. That's what comes to mind when I think about my visit to Pinstripes. I visited Pinstripes for a friend's birthday this weekend and was instantly impressed. The decor is contemporary with a laidback vibe, with leather chairs and couches. The wood and rock interior provide a lodge like feel in the center of the suburban jungle. The outdoor patio is extensive and has a serene view of surrounding grasslands. Our group was nestled in between the bocce ball courts. I've never played before, but there's a first time for everything. Who knew throwing a wooden ball closest to a metal ball would be so much fun. I'll definitely be back to play again to perfect my bocce ball skills. I'll also be pack to try the cocktails at Pinstripes, given my delicate condition at this visit. Can't wait to try the lemoncello martini at my next visit and to bask in the relaxing, good time I has at Pinstripes. I will be back. read more

Went here for a private party, so I cannot comment on a routine dinner or the bowling. Had a bad first impression at the giant hostess stand just inside the door. We told the girl that we were very early for a party, and tried to get some hint where it would be located. She looked it up, told us we were early, and I think mumbled something about waiting at the bar, and abruptly walked away. Now, I could see they were busy and gearing up for a Friday night, but no need to be so bitchy and dismissive. We knew we were early and were fully prepared to wait at the bar. Time for a refresher course in Hospitality 101 for this gem of a girl. Sat at the bar, which is nice. The place was pretty busy at 5:30. I had a couple of Red Appletini's while waiting. They were quite good, but overpriced at $10, especially for the suburbs. Ordered a Crabcake appetizer to get us through til dinner. It was good. Real crab meat on a nice rice concoction with a side of a little Arugula salad. Problem at the bar was the strong smell of bleach. I'm glad they appear to be following good sanitation practices, but it was a bit much. As other people from our group arrived and joined us at the bar, they immediately made various humorous comments about the bleach odor. While waiting at the bar, we again asked where our party would be, and one of the bartenders was very pleasant and went and found out for us with zero attitude. The bowling area looked cool, but we didn't go in to check it out. The party room was nice. Dimly lit, with 1 small TV by the small bar (which they immediately changed from a worthless Knicks/Celtics game to the Blackhawks game when I asked.) 2 Bocce Ball courts. It appeared it was an outdoor patio in the warmer months, but they had it enclosed and well heated. Fire pit outside was going, and the wonderful scent was filling the room. Food was ok. The potato chips they put on the tables that looked homemade were VERY stale. So I only tried 2. They did a small buffet of little tenderloin burgers, cubed cheese assortment, flatbread pizza, and sliced up chicken parm sandwiches, which were delicious. Service for the party was excellent. We live nowhere near Pinstripes, so I doubt we'll return. But I'd recommend trying it at least once if you're into bowling or Bocce. read more

I feel Pinstripes is a decent place, especially for a 1st or blind date. I did not make reservations so I planted myself near the bar to wait. I found out it was 1/2 price for bottled wine that evening, so that was a big plus. They have a wide variety and were very helpful when asked questions about them. We enjoyed our wine and food. I do not know if the lack of seeing a server was because she did not wish to bother us as we were beginning to know each other or poor service. There were a number of groups there which I felt were receiving a majority of the attention of the servers. I think the next time I would make reservations for the restaurant since the bar area seems a bit high traffic. Other then that complaint, the employees were cordial and helpful, when they were around, and I felt the food was solid. I will have to come back to the food when I have more of an appetite. read more

Went on a Monday to enjoy the all you can eat Spaghetti and salad. Wasn't too bad, but the pre-dinner bread and pesto is excellent! Love the service though, the staff is very prompt as there are multiple waitstaff floating around the dining area. You can always be sure that someone will take care of you. Don't forget to bring your wristband for free drinks! read more

Food is great! Bowling is also really fun. There are a good number of lanes, so it has never been a problem for me to get one! I have never played bocce there, but I'm sure that would be good too. I've been to pinstripes for a number of corporate events and they do a great job accommodating big groups in their large upstairs space. read more

Pizza is super good! It's brick oven or coal oven- whatever it is awesome! All the ingredients were super fresh! The bread they give you before the meal is #awesome and #free! We also got the prime rib dip. Which was excellent & the pretzel roll was nice and soft! It came with great sauces too! The meal came out so quickly and was so tasty! The service was even greater! When ever an employee would walk past they would ask if we needed anything. Tips: Make reservations ahead of time for any of Pinstripes offerings- bowling, bocce, bistro. They always seem to be booked and busy. read more

Atmosphere: B Food: B- Service: C- We attended a family party here and will not be returning. It was okay, but not sure we will return anytime soon. The service was the real problem, this location is woefully understaffed. What staff they do have is both poorly trained and poorly supervised. Struggling to obtain service diminishes from the experience. The food was fine, clearly standard fare, but it was done well enough. Of course, if the service were prompt it would have been warmer and more quickly replenished; but perhaps that is the plan, under serve to preserve profit margins--short-sighted, but clearly understandable. On the whole we were disappointed; I think our guests enjoyed themselves, but I left feeling dissatisfied. read more

An excellent date night dinner without all the hassles of trying to bowl or bacci. We had reservations and were seated right away. Nice touch with warm, bite sized bread and pesto upon sitting. My wife and I split the pear salad, shrimp and spinach flatbread, and new roasted cauliflower pasta. All three were very good. The flatbread had generous pieces of shrimp and spinach, and the cauliflower pasta was right on for a Lent Friday. We cashed in our free dessert email offer and enjoyed the new tiramisu. Great drink choices, a cozy feel in the dining room, lively ambiance, and solid service make the "bistro" part of Pinstripes a keeper. read more

Very disappointed in Pinstripes Northbrook. After a year of back and forth trying to get a 5K deposit back from a COVID cancelled wedding - they still insist that it was ok to have a 150+ guest event in September of 2020 because they were open. Even if that was the case - travel and large gatherings were not an option for most people - and most likely would not have attended. BUT - they are willing to keep all that money on account for a future event - even though I have explained many times to many different people (when someone actually replied) that the marriage already took place and they are expecting a child and could really use that $5,000.00 now. Per public records - Pinstripes as a business received millions in PPP loans that were most likely forgiven - so they got their money AND mine !! I guess they would rather lose customers and have them complain than return a deposit to someone who needs it. Stephanie D - FYI - Kelly already has my contact information !!! And so does Pam! So why is it that every time there is a complaint- there is a quick response to try to smooth out the situation - then they tell you that they will get back to you - BUT THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN. This has been going on for over a year Why does a business treat their customers (ex) so poorly? read more

This place is really cool and has a beautiful patio for the summertime. Great happy hour menu and pricing! We had calamari, Caesar salad with blackened shrimp, plus they bring bread and pesto. Super fresh and wonderfully grilled. Didn't play any games but would go back with a group. Or great for another date night. Only star missing was for service. Host staff was not very helpful and gave mixed directions for the seating process and happy hour times. Wait staff seemed disoriented and kept bringing our food to the wrong tables or bringing us other peoples food. Had about 3 different waiters in the hour we spent there. read more

We have gone here for field trips. The kids always have fun, but it's overpriced for what they get. Also, the service was very slow. When you are paying such a high gratuity, you have expectations. Also, one of our chaperones ordered food that got charged on my school's bill (my credit card). Not preposterous, but the problem is Pinstripes didn't ok that charge with me or ask for my signature; they just assumed I wouldn't ask questions. There needs to be and a little more communication. read more

Brian was a great server, enjoyed Happy Hour food and drinks. Husband really liked the Super Salad. Great at checking vaccine cards.

Went to Pinstripes for a work event on a Monday afternoon. It was an overall pleasant experience: One of the waiters patiently explained the whole concept and scoring system for playing in a Bocce court. (I'd played before, but only outdoors with the instructions to 1. Chuck a large ball at the small ball. 2. Take a shot of vodka 3. Repeat) Other waiters ran around bringing us drinks. They weren't crazy fast, but I always had a drink in my hand when I wanted it. I recommend the single serving bottles of prosecco. Don't let them tell you they don't have any. Our waiter dug around the back of their cooler and found a whole case. Bowling was also good. Nothing too special or different, except that the chairs you sit on aren't your usual plastic bowling ally chairs or beat up couches. They were plush leather sofas that were comfy to hang out on and large enough to fit 3 co-workers without extreme awkward closeness. The ambience was great. There was a group of white haired old women (65-75+) in the lane next to us, drunk and loud, yelling at each other over who had made the better bocce shot. I learned some really creative combinations of swear words that afternoon. The pizza was solid - Americanized Italian, but delicious. The margherita was everything I wanted it to be - thin, smothered with mozzarella, basil, tomatoes, and garlic. Yet again, they weren't super speedy, but I didn't feel like we waited for ages. read more

Our son was bowling with a group, so my wife and I asked for a lane for ourselves. We were told there were no lanes available, so we sat in the bar for two hours while at least six lanes went unused. Guess Pinstripes likes losing money on unused space. Even our waitress tried to get us a lane with no luck. read more

Pinstripes - Bowling Near Me - Northbrook, Illinois

On a lazy Sunday afternoon, I packed up the kids and wife, set the cruise control to 56mph and headed to Pinstripes. I certainly like going here - the food is super yummy, bowling is nice, quite kid friendly, Oh, and they have lane-side service. Yes, you can order stuffed mushrooms, fried mozzarella and a beer. Really! Overall the experience is outstanding. Would I return, YES! The only reason I did not award 5 stars was the fact the couches in the bowling alley need to be replaced very badly. read more

Great place to enjoy some bowling or bocce. Atmosphere is a little more refined compared to your average bowling ally. Food was solid too. Good for the whole family or a date night. read more

Went here last weekend and I was pretty impressed for the most part. However, there was one key element that took some stars off of this rating - No pitchers of beer offered for bowling!!!!!!!! Food was great - I had the Italian Pulled Pork and it was probably one of the if not the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had!! Location was alright I guess - don't really know area that well Atmosphere was great!! Price wasn't bad for food but $9+ for bowling not cool!! Service was another low point as there were 6 of us and our waitress didn't split our checks!!!!! Cmon now!! read more

I had a work outting here last night which included drinks, appetizers and bocce ball. This was my first time here and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This is not your typical "bowling alley" and pizza place. The indoor bocce ball lanes were full and incredibly fun to play. The appetizers, make your own bruchetta, mini burgers, fruit tray and an Italian meat tray with all the trimmings along with a few of the usuals was great. There was plenty of food and nicely served. The staff was great about offering cocktails and clearing away plates. We also had the dessert trays filled with mini cheese cakes, brownies, cookies and a few other bites. All in all it was a great time! Clean, good service and fun, what more could you ask for??? For a Thursday night the place was packed. I'd love to go back. read more

Pinstripes is a near miss for me. Nice, clean bowling and indoor bocce facility and good "bistro" fare. Unfortunately, the high ceilings, exorbitant amounts of unused floor space, and tiny central bar lend well to supporting the oversized staff milling around with smiling faces, and not the after-work drinks crowd. If I were a middle schooler or a family with younger children, this place would be rockin'. I haven't seen Peroni on tap in ages. read more

I came here with about 25 people for a company event. We also had lunch catered from Pinstripes earlier in the day. So I wasn't paying, and we were sort of doing our own thing. First I'll say that the food is quite good here. The sandwiches we had for lunch were on good bread, filled nicely, and came with tasty chips and a small cookie. (The only complaint there is that it wasn't two cookies.) Our dinner was also good, with garlicky twisty breadsticks with pesto olive oil, little bruschetta bites with fresh mozzarella, and our choice of entree among flatbreads, a salad, pasta, chicken or salmon. I had the angel hair pomodoro (needed a little more fresh mozzarella... always more cheese!) and my coworker raved about the salmon. Service was good but not spectacular -- just little things. The coworker on one side didn't get her flatbread until everyone else was already eating, and I had to point it out (though to their credit it did come very quickly after that). They don't seem to know their beer list very well, I asked if they had any stouts on tap, was told no, just Guinness in a bottle... and then the waitress ran through a bunch of beers, ending with "oh, and we have The Poet," which is ... an oatmeal stout. I mean, I know we were a large-ish group, but we were off in a private room with dedicated staff and they advertise themselves as doing a lot of big group events. Overall, though, the food was tasty, the service was pretty good and we had a fun time bowling afterward. If I had a reason to visit again, I would look forward to it. read more

This place was much nicer in the inside than I expected. It's a nice looking place... We came in a group and ordered a bunch of appetizers and a few sandwiches. It was a nice night, so we sat outside and ordered a few drinks too. The food was ok. Not great, not bad. Pricey for what you get. The french dip sandwich was good and came with fries and a horseradish dish. The lobster roll was ok. It was served open faced with a salad. Small portioned for 12-13 bucks. The calamari, hummus, and stuffed mushrooms were whatever. The italian meatball open faced sandwich was pretty darn good though. We played bocci ball, and that was fun. It wasn't busy at all on a Monday night, so there was no wait. Our waiter was kind of bunk though. He was nice enough, but we had to flag him down repeatedly to refill our drinks and to pay our bill. We also did not get one of our dishes and there was no apology afterwards. Probably 15-20 minutes between seeing him walk by our table. read more

I came here three times. The first time was for a company event and a friendly game of Bocce Ball. The courts are big and nice. It's only $5/person/hour, so it's great for a big group. They have specialty drinks on Thursdays so it was like $3 for a martini. Otherwise, they have a ton of beer/wine to choose from. We got a bunch of flatbreads, appetizers, pizzas, etc. The food here is DELICIOUS. Way more upscale than any other bowling alley/bocce ball court I've been to. I feel like it is catering towards all the companies around the area because there were a few corporate events going on that evening. My coworkers and I have come here a few times for lunch as well. They have $10 combo specials, including soups, salads, pizzas, etc. However our favorite is their chicken picatta with spinach and mashed potatoes. The chicken is perfectly moist and comes with a lemon sauce and peas. The spinach is cooked to perfection, and served with cherry tomatoes. The mashed potatoes are the best, they are super creamy and buttery and full of yum! The combos come with a drink too, so this place gets packed for lunch. read more

I love this Pinstripes location! We've been coming here for years- I've brought my kids, come for date night, and even a Moms' Night Out. We've done bowling and bocce ball, and have eaten in the restaurant. The bowling lanes are clean and well maintained, there's plenty of seating, service is quick, and the consoles are very user friendly! Bocce is nice as well- big courts, ample seating nearby, very open and well lit. The food is a little pricey, but it's very high quality and delicious! The kids' meals are a great deal at $10, and an absolute steal on the weekdays for $5. I love that you can reserve a bowling lane or bocce court in advance, so even on busy days you're guaranteed to play. The staff is always very professional and friendly, and have often gone out of their way to be extra helpful. It's a wonderful place for people of all ages! I've never been lucky enough to attend a private event here, but I've heard they're lovely as well. I highly, highly recommend this place! We will be back many more times! read more

Very swank bowling experience! I have been there a few times... each time for bowling. We enjoy the comfy seating in a very "living room" like setting with our own wait staff and plenty of food/beverage opportunities. Seeing as it is an upscale place, it didn't surprise me (as it did my coworkers) that the games are pricey. I think I paid like $11 a game (including shoe rentals). But realistically, you are paying for the venue. This isn't your grandpa's alley. This is a modern approach to a classic sport and socializing event. read more

Went for Saturday lunch. We had a good meal here once before. The service was a little slow as was the food but the food was really good. All 4 of us really enjoyed our different meals. The inside venue of this place is very nice and organized. I didn't come in to bowl but came in using a groupon to try out their food in the dining area. For appetizers, we ordered calamari and for our entrees my boyfriend ordered fried chicken with mash potatoes and I ordered the lobster roll sandwich. Overall, the food is a little overpriced for American food but it's still good food. I heard the brunch on Sundays are delish which I got a groupon for that as well so I'm excited to try! read more

My boyfriend took me here for a fun bowling outing. It was amazing. I've never been to a bowling alley that was so clean and smoke free. When we first walked in, we were greeted by an employee at the front desk. Great service and very spacious. We paid $28 for 2 games-a bit expensive, but well worth the service and ambience. The bowling shoes weren't gross, but rather well maintained. The bowling lanes were very nice and even had couches for us to sit with a coffee like table. Although we didn't order food, it smelled delicious! You could order food and bring it to your bowling station. They also have a restaurant like area. You can also play Bocce Ball there. Bathrooms are extremely well kept, which is always a plus in my book. Overall, a great experience which reminded me of being at a country club. I'd highly recommend this bowling alley. read more
