She had either large cell lymphoma or carcinoma (was inconclusive) but either way it was really bad at the end. Dr. Beth has the knowledge to help you understand what is happening, the compassion to guide you through it, and the kindness to come out to our place at some inconvenience to herself (last minute, outside regular hours, etc). I loved that she gave us special family time with our girl as we went through the steps of the at home euthanasia. I loved that she said some words of gratitude for her as she passed, almost like a mini memorial service. It was painful, it is painful, but I don't think I could have asked for a better person to lead us through an extremely difficult decision. I see sad photos of animals here. I choose to remember my kitty when she was at her happiest, and that's the photo I'm sharing here.

When the time came to say goodbye to our fur-baby, we also greatly appreciated how patient and gentle Dr. Phillips was with him and us. You can tell that she genuinely cares. Dr. Zakai evaluated our darling Bonnie and determined she still had quality of life. The weight lifted off our shoulders and we immediately made an appointment with our local vet. I am extremely grateful to Home with Dignity and Dr. Zakai. He was so kind and caring, answered all of our questions and put our minds at ease. Khloe will soon celebrate her 15th birthday and is set in her ways. She's really not "into" hanging out with a veterinarian, but that's life. She made a lot of noise to let me (and Dr. Nickens) know that this exam was not on her schedule. But Dr. Nickens was very patient with Khloe, calmed her down (even long enough to take a blood sample). Dr. Nickens was great, and her fees are extremely reasonable. I highly recommend her.

I knew I didn't want to take him to the vet to say goodbye, because I knew it would add to his stress. I avoided making this call through most of the day, but by the afternoon, I knew I couldn't put it off any longer. I called Dr Dahlgren and she picked up right away. She was able to come that afternoon, which was a tremendous relief because I didn't think Brutus' suffering could go on much longer.
