Even though she didn't know me, she took time out of her day off to come help us, and I will never forget that kindness. She treated Peanut with such gentleness, dignity, and love--as if she were her own. The care and compassion she showed brought me a sense of peace in an incredibly painful moment. I truly feel like the universe placed Dr. Beth in our path to remind me that every life deserves a gentle, dignified goodbye. Even in my moments of guilt--wondering what more I could have done--I'm reminded that what I gave Peanut was love, compassion, and tenderness, and that matters deeply. That kind of care can exist even in the darkest moments. - this thought process is supported by the resources Dr. Beth left me! I am ao happy I found Dr. Nickens! Both of my dogs, Meg (age 14) and Candi (age 3) really liked her…read moreand her technician Sheila. Dr. Nickens gave both thorough examinations, trimmed their nails, gave Candi her vaccines, then provided me with a complete analysis of their health. Because of Covid-19 Dr, Nickens and Sheila used my patio and deck as their exam space. It was great to see Meg and Candi so calm and comfortable during their first visit with a new doctor. And Dr. Nickens bas a wonderful 'bedside manner' with patients and their humans. I enjoyed talking with Dr. Nickens and Sheila; moreover, i am confident my sweet companions are healthy. I am handicapped, and having Dr. Nickens come to my house meant the dogs and I didn't have to worry about getting to and from the vet in summer heat. I recommend Doorstep Veterinary Care and Dr. Nickens without reservation.

Khloe will soon celebrate her 15th birthday and is set in her ways. She's really not "into" hanging out with a veterinarian, but that's life. She made a lot of noise to let me (and Dr. Nickens) know that this exam was not on her schedule. But Dr. Nickens was very patient with Khloe, calmed her down (even long enough to take a blood sample). Dr. Nickens was great, and her fees are extremely reasonable. I highly recommend her.

After…read morespeaking with everyone at the emergency Vet, it was clear that he was unlikely to make much of a recovery. I called Journey's End and left a voicemail on a Saturday morning. I didn't expect much, given that it was such short notice and on a weekend, but Dr. Scotti returned my call in about 20 minutes. We had an unusual situation, in that the Vet at the emergency center told us that our cat probably would not live very long without supplemental oxygen. Dr. Scotti was amazing in scheduling us in at the beginning of her day and maintaining excellent contact via text regarding her arrival. That allowed us to minimize the amount of time our animal spent away from extra support and maximize the time we could take him home to live out his last moments where he belonged. Dr. Scotti was so amazing in her professionalism and her compassion. Having been through this, I honestly feel like every pet deserves the chance to die at home and Journey's End is just such an excellent way to make this possible. Thank you so much Dr. Scotti. Being able to let our cat die at home meant everything and helped us to have some closure over a horrible situation.

She fought lymphoma and was in remission for 18 months but couldn't out run kidney failure. We want to say is a special thank you to Dr Dahlgren for: 1. Validating we were doing the right thing - it is so hard to know if you wait to long and decide too early. Dr Dahlgren confirmed our intuition was correct. 2. Giving us a peaceful process in our own home. Dr Dahlgren explained everything that would happen and made it a kind and caring process, never rushing us, giving us the time to say goodbye. 3. Respecting Taffy in how she was comfortably carried out and left our home. We appreciated how Dr Dahlgren came in with respect and kindness of our special girl by bringing a blanket filled basket that Taffy was placed in and carried out with such care. 4. Partnering with Agape Cremation who kept us up to date on each step of Taffy's cremation process. It was amazing and greatly appreciated. 5. Saying goodbye to our beloved Golden Retriever was heartbreaking, but she made an incredibly painful moment a little easier for us. The thoughtful touches, from the treats to the comfortable bed and pillow for him to leave with, were incredibly meaningful to us. Knowing he was comfortable and surrounded by love during his final moments made such a difference. What meant the most to us was that Dr. Melanie took the time to be with us and never made us feel rushed. She gave us the time we needed to be with him, say goodbye, and simply have those final moments together. That time and compassion meant everything to us. Our only regret is that we didn't find Dr. Melanie sooner. We wish we had known about her palliative and hospice care services earlier so we could have had her support in keeping him comfortable during his final weeks. We are incredibly grateful for the kindness, compassion, and care Dr. Melanie showed our family. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for compassionate end-of-life care for their pet.
