As the search continues to find a good nail salon that accommodates my needs, I searched Yelp in hopes of "nailing" a good find. I came across Pink Rose as it's not terribly out of the way, it's easy to get to via public transportation (It's literally underneath the train station) and the ratings seemed pretty good. I was able to call the salon directly to book an Appointment and they were able to accommodate me the same day. Seeing as this is my first nail session after lockdown, I was truly excited. Upon arrival, I was greeted and asked to wait as she was finishing up with a client. The salon abides by social distancing and is kept clean. There is a partition that separates you from your technician to keep with Covid protocols...very essential. As it was my first time Anna was super sweet and conversed with me the whole time. I showed her the design I had in mind and she executed swiftly, neatly and with precision! I couldn't be happier! I'm so glad I've finally found something within the same borough!!! This time around, I got a full set, with painted designs. I'm a stickler for stones, so they have to shine bright. Before leaving, I asked to see the quality of their stones and not only is the quality great, but they have an array of colors for variation. I will definitely be back with my designs and with Anna. I tried this salon cause there was fairly good reviews on it so I'm going to be honest, I expected more. The "cleanliness" that was mentioned in the reviews is off. There is dust all over the work stations, they do not use plastic tub liners, and I had to ask for the woman to scrub the tub before my pedicure because she had just finished another woman's pedicure and expected me to put my feet in the tub. The "cleaning" of the tub was pathetic, she took a brush and some soap? I think, and scrubbed for a few seconds. I gave up and just got my pedicure. Came out good. Got a full set nails with matte and a small line on each nails and they didn't tell me until the end that it would be extra, a whole $15 extra which doesn't make sense to me but whatever I asked for it so I'll pay. The nail tech listened to my requests and he paid attention to detail so overall I am happy with how my nails look! Despite all these great reviews on Yelp, my service was not what I thought it would be. I expected a 4 star service but didn't even receive that. I brought my mother here with me and she got a gel full set as well as a pedicure. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. My pedicure is okay. The gel manicure was not executed as well as I would have liked. I thought the bulky gel nail days were over but I realized that not every nail tech knows how to accomplish a natural look with a gel manicure. The manicurist messed up my nails and management acknowledged it but didn't do anything about it. My mother had issues with her full set being improperly filed and they asked her to pay first after she complained about the incorrect service. I was never asked to pay first but because my mother was unsatisfied through the process they asked her to pay first. She had to file her own nails!!!, something she was paying them to do. I choose this place from yelp and I will not be patronizing this business ever again. Additionally, the taxes are outrageous for when you use a debit card. read more

I called prior and Anna the owner said I was able to soak off and get the services I needed at 6:15 on a Thursday. My nail tech Jackie was super efficient and even persuaded me to don't do tips and use my nails. The results were amazing and I am happy I came here after searching for places in Manhattan when my nail tech in park slope was on her off day. I'm really sad to write to this review. I've been going to Pink Rose Nails Spa for a handful of months and had solid experiences...Until my last one. I wen't in for an acrylic removal and gel manicure after. The nail tech went to remove my acrylic nail and it totally ripped my natural nail in half. My finger started to bleed and burn. The nail tech really didn't say anything to me (no "sorry" or "are you okay?"), which I found to be rude but I let it go. She proceeded to try and finesse the ripped nail and finally got the acrylic of and ended up putting a 'silk patch' on the broken nail. She left me to soak my other nails and never came back. Another nail tech came and finished off my services. My gel manicure turned out good thanks to the second nail tech. Afterwards I proceeded to get my belongings and of course assumed they would waive the 5 dollar 'removal' because of the mishap. I asked the nail tech who did my gel manicure and she said I still had to pay. I explained to her that didn't make sense so she walked me up to the front desk where I spoke to the leading nail tech. I told the leading nail tech that I didn't feel like it made sense for me to pay the 5 dollar removal fee. She consulted the lady who hurt my finger and then came to me and said "Well she gave you the silk patch for free"...... this is when I lost all respect. I told her, "let me ask you this, If your nail tech didn't rip my nail off, would I have needed that nail patch?" Then I showed her the picture I'm attaching to this review and only then did she become startled at the sight of the blood and said "Okay, okay no removal fee". I'm bothered that it took that much explaining to get the 5 dollar fee waived. I honestly don't think I should've needed to pay for any of the services but I wasn't in the mood to go that hard. On top of that nobody at any point was apologetic of what happened. Both of these factors combined led me to write this review so other people would know going into this salon that they don't have the best customer service-- although they do have talented nail techs. All in all I'm bummed about how they handled my situation as I really wanted to love this place. If there is one thing I can't overlook when I pay for something, it's customer service and that was certainly lacking. read more

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars and not 1 is because most of the nail techs are kind. That being said, my visit today will definitely be my last. The tech I had today was rude, his work was sloppy, and my nails have never looked worse after being professionally done. For starters, the entire time that I was there he said 5 words: "is this gel" and "20 dollars" when he tossed my bill on the table before he'd even done the polish. He hacked off the bottom of my tips for my fill in which I've never had done before. I also came in with one of my tips cracked in half after one of the other techs did a poor job putting them on for the full set and instead of replacing it he just put extra acrylic on over it! He also cut one of my cuticles and didn't even acknowledge it so I didn't notice until I was sitting for my nails to dry and there was blood on two of my fingers (the one he cut and blood that had transferred to my other hand because he still used the same tool after cutting me). I'm all for cutting people slack because they might be having a rough day but of the four times I've been, I've left with some kind of issue with my nails every time. I MISS YOU SAM! would do my own nails at home for years but now that I'm working full time at a hair salon, I don't have much time to do my own. I took a chance on Pink rose nail spa, and that's where I met Sam. He is so underrated and truly a master at his craft. He always listened to what I wanted and would add his own creativity to it which made them look so much better than what I originally asked for. His work would last me a month,never any breakage or chips ever. And everyday all day I'm using my hands for my profession. He would never overcharge me, the prices there are ridiculously fair and that's why I would overcompensate for his tip. I've seen many people treat the staff there unkindly for a discount or they're just in a bad mood (think twice before you ruin someone's day by yelling at them and treating someone so disrespectfully so you don't have to pay full price for a great service). Hidden gem in my neighborhood that I'm glad I found! They're usually pretty busy, things slow down between 12-2 but pick right back up in no time. You either wanna get there right at 10 or way after for when the people who came at 10 are finishing up. When I tried to make an appointment on the phone, they talked me out of it and said to come in, only to have people who made appointments have a priority over me so I waited around 30 minutes while the friend I came with was pretty much done when I started. Since I said something about it, I'm pretty sure they were over me and proceeded to give me THE WORST PEDICURE OF MY LIFE. She rushed through the filing, so one of my nails practically fell off, they are also cut crooked, she didn't even scrub my feet, nor put lotion (and forget any kind of massage on my legs) and I literally left with callouses I had to take off when I got home. I saw my friend get hers since I was waiting and my pedicurist didn't do the same treatment AT all and my friend and I paid the same. To be honest, for $23.00 for a pedicure I expect more. This place is not bad ! I came last minute on a Friday night in need of eyebrow wax pedicure and Acrylic set with a dip powder soak off. Of course they couldn't service me 1.5 mins before closing lol but they offered to do my hands and I could come back for the pedicure. JACKIE did my nails and he did a great job !! Not the best shaping and not as thin and natural as I wanted but they still look amazing. I've been getting compliments left and right. And even more so asked where I got them done. He was rushing of course but still produced quality ! Now this is a nail shop in the hood so don't expect it to have wine, clean chairs, fancy spa stations etc. while I was there he never once used a paper towel or towel on the surface where everyone's hands and nail shavings lay. The brush to wipe the shavings and stuff off was so run down and looked like it had t been cleaned in months. There were a couple of ants crawling lol. One of those spots where I can't wait to be done and wash my hands. And yeah it's just not very clean but not disgusting if that makes sense. I will likely be back. I'm not sure if this is good pricing for the area. I paid $45 for a acrylic set and eyebrow wax. They charged extra for coffin shape not sure how much and then I believe it was $12-15 extra for gel color on top. Great spot ! Everyone was friendly. I looked over to the guy doing the file next to mine tho and .....he was struggling lol. His work was not NEARLY as good as Jackie's was! So I recommend seeing him ! Everything went well for me, she did an amazing job with my nails. I had a great experience- so ur wondering why I gave this place 4 stars? Well I decided to get studs on my nails and within 24 hrs, 2 studs fell off and that got me really upset. I've been going to mine on Nostrand ave since the beginning of time, but after moving to bushwick and becoming a mommy I had to accept that I had to find somebody local to my new home; did my research and saw some of Ana's work. I walked in on a Monday afternoon: the store was busy but not overcrowded, and very tidy.
