We were refused service because of our service dog. Employee claimed they cannot allow pets for health code reasons. Our Service dog was clearly wearing a vest and leashed. When told under Michigan law that restaurants must allow service animals he told us well we have the right to refuse service to anyone. A complaint will be filed with the Michigan ADA and Michigan Department of Civil Rights. read more

I don't mind the long wait for food, usually means it is house made. Not here, just means they are just slow. The food you wait so long for is restaurant supply truck fare. My 10 year old, who has a better than typical 10 year old pallet, thought the chicken fried steak was good. It was not. My wife liked her skillet, I didn't try it. The staff was pleasant. I was done eating in about 3 mins. When the server finally came back she wanted to know if I wanted a box. NO. I politely explained how awful the food was and that it was the worst meal I'd had in years. The owner (?) came over and tried to be sympathetic. I explained that I didn't want anything for free. Also told her the canned hash was criminal. She said that they went to a place up the road that had house made hash as it was fantastic, but they didn't feel they could get their staff to go to the trouble. WTF? If you can't make it edible, DON'T SERVE IT. Believe the 1-2 star reviews, this place it awful. read more

This place is for locals. Staying In Pentwater, came for breakfast. Waited to be seated as per sign, finally a customer leaving took us to dinning room. Lots of empty tables, server gave menus and coffee, took order, we received our food from different waitress, she asked if We needed anything else. Our coffee cups were empty, so asked for more coffee, plus hot sauce and honey. "Ok I'll be right back" She didn't return! Finished breakfast, finally able to get the attention of the other waitress for a coffee refill. Mentioned that the waitress didn't return. The food server came back to apologize? "I'm sorry, I forgot." "You should have asked the other waitress, we work together." So I guess it was our fault? read more

This place is a must for anyone visiting Silver Lake nearby. It's a family owned restaurant with amazing food at cheap prices. Everything was tasty and the staff very welcoming. Definitely try their omlettes and the chicken crisp burger! I'm yearning for their food again :( read more

Everything was fantastic! We had the HUGE blueberry pancake, country omelet, and bacon sausage skillet! We drove to Hart from Silver Lake just to eat at the Pink Elephant Diner. Everyone around us was very happy and impressed with their food. If you love pancakes get them, they are giant and amazing! Serve was great and every worker was helping out with each others tables to make sure that every table had what they needed, when they needed it! The family and I happened upon this diner while visiting the nearby Silver Lake sand dunes for a camping trip. When we pulled up, I really wasn't expecting much, but we were all pleasantly surprised by the delicious breakfast and good coffee. My omelet was cooked to perfection with great sausage, and my daughter's pancake looked amazing. My husband said his french toast was fabulous. Freshly cooked, hot food, good service and great prices. What could be better? Next time we're in town, we'll definitely be back. read more

My family and I traveled up this way with no plan and relied on Yelp to help us with our dining choices. We all agreed this was BY FAR the best meal of our trip. The servings were plentiful and delicious and the staff was friendly and eager to provide excellent services and to top it off our bill was much less than what we had paid at other places. Took friends here last week, we've eaten here before. Ordered breakfast, two eggs, toast, hash. One slice of toast, half order hash, wife's two pieces of bacon was one slice broken in two. Asked waitress if we ordered from the "light" menu? Said that the portion ya get now for full price. ?? I stopped here with the whole family for brunch after leaving the Silver Lake Dunes on the way to Michigan's Adventure. We were seated immediately by a really polite host and they provided a tray of crayons and several coloring books for the girls. We ordered and received breakfast immediately, which was excellent and very reasonable in price. Excellent coffee! The waitress even went out of her way to make milkshakes for the girls before ice cream is technically served in the day. I wish this place were closer to home, we'd go there often! read more

Went here for breakfast one day around 10:30 and it was pretty crowded. We had to wait for a table for about 20 minutes which wasn't bad. We ordered right away because they said it might take awhile with all the orders. We waited over an hour for our food, which is a long time. Everyone licked there plates clean so the food was delicious. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because of the long wait. (which I could give 4.5) French toast was delicious! I can't remember what everyone got but no one was disappointed! The atmosphere was really cute and they had pink elephants everywhere. Our waitress was really nice and kept bringing us more coffee/drinks which was nice! Other waitress were helping her out which was nice. Super cute diner and would def come back again! read more
