Additionally, I had to use towels to keep the smoke from entering my room because the smokers were smoking in side of the hotel and behind the hotel entrance, which caused the air conditioners to absorb the smoke and release it into the room, giving it a cigarettes'-like nicotine. looks like smoke detectors are needed in the bathroom to stop the rooms from smelling like cigarettes' Had to put laundry sheets to stop the smell from coming into the bathroom

I am originally from Idaho. I spent years in Cape Canaveral. I've lived in some of the nicest…read moreplaces. I've traveled a great deal throughout our nation. As well, I've stayed in the most luxurious hotels in New York. And, have also stayed in the most God awful places I would never return to in Georgia. I can honestly say reading many of the reviews online ~ people are hypercritical to a point of such unrealistic expectations their reviews are unreliable. Now, I can say such from experience. If you're wishing for the Marriott Country Club at 1/3 discounted price ~ then yes. You'll absolutely be disappointed on every level. It isn't the Marriott with five pools and perfection. You're welcome to pay the price elsewhere if these are your standards. The Fairbridge lives by its name. It is the most and modest fair hotel I've found. It is cost effective. It is clean given winter conditions. Sometimes there maybe ice or snow tracked into the hallway. It is a high altitude mountainous area. Expect some conditions. It has been unbelievably quiet and safe. The safest hotel I've ever stayed. With exception of the Hilton when it was empty. The Fairbridge is a true refuge. If you're looking for safety first ~ quiet and respectful neighbors ~ a little rugged like a mountain town is ~ like a small one bedroom cabin. Then yes. This is your place. It isn't the Marriott Country Club. It is down to earth and real. Like true Idahoan's are. It is humble, safe and quaint. The staff is by far the most helpful and the most kind I've ever met. Their patience for others brings tears to my eyes. These are genuinely good people. Some of the best in the world. And, by staying here ~ maybe you can keep apart of old Idaho in your heart. Genuine humility, goodness and focus on what truly matters in life. While visiting one of the most precious states in the US. My suggestion to the hypercritical ~ remember what matters. Or pay a higher price for the perfection you expect of everyone in life. To me ~ this place is the best place on earth. Walking out the back door to have a gorgeous temple and river right in front of you ~ reminding that humility and grace come with principals still standing. The Fairbridge is still here. Which means, all these years they've done something very right.

This was my first time staying in an honest to goodness Conestoga wagon, and it was truly luxurious. Not words I ever imagined typing. Pulling into Moose Creek Ranch was not immediately remarkable, but beginning to walk the grounds, I felt the persistent mountain breeze, heard the babbling Trail Creek, and saw the peaceful natural surroundings and well-manicured grounds all commanding my recognition. Then there were the comfortable environs of the ranch buildings, inclusive of the cozy lodge room, a game area, and a spot for breakfast, all with a chill music soundtrack wafting through. The staff were friendly through and through. We took advantage of a trail ride with Biscuit, our wrangler, the morning of the 4th of July, and enjoyed his capable, humorous guidance through a forest trail near the Ranch, capably tailed by Rooster the resident corralling canine. And now back to the Conestoga wagon. These things boasted bunk beds and a king size, with a full bathroom, small sitting area, pre-stocked mini bar with room for your own items, plentiful plugs/USB ports, and a highly capable mini-split AC system. Ridiculous (in a good way)! If the original Westward Ho movement had these things, Manifest Destiny would have hinged on thread-count, and we'd have never made it past Ohio. These things would be the Airstreams of the 1800s. Loved the experience. This might be the experience you needed, even if you didn't know it.

From the outside, the Candlewood looked kind of old but the inside was really nice. I guess there was a remodel not too long ago. Our room was in the front of the motel and the snake river is behind it. Didn't know that till we were leaving. Our room was really clean lots of room to spread out. I feel bad we got there late and left early so I didn't get to look around and take pictures of this hotel. But when I left, I did see the free coffee. Thank you.

It had a full size freezer so I was able to chill my Yeti cooler full of meat. There's a river path right out the side door of the hotel so I was also able to take a nature walk in the morning before hitting the road again. I came back through in peak season and was bummed to find it sold out, but not surprised! I'll definitely keep looking for availability here whenever I'm passing through Idaho Falls. Because there are full kitchenettes there is NOT much of a breakfast selection, but you're in town so go support a local restaurant. They have a custom coffee maker thing but there's only one and it doesn't do large cups, so to fill my 20oz yeti travel mug I had to do it twice. NOT efficient for a hotel full of people who want coffee. This machine is an IHG trend and is replacing in-room coffee makers which I am NOT A FAN of - they're creating a false bottleneck, probably trying to break people of the habit of expecting free coffee.

Our entire family believe's this ranch, and these wonderful people running this operation, are some of our favorites. Great food, a nice setting and the kind of atmosphere you don't find anywhere else! Pack Trips: Over the years we've enjoyed a couple pack trips, the kids were pretty young (7 and 8) then again ages 10, and 11. Both trips (two nights and 6 nights) were led by a great crew including Melissa, Peter Linn and Tyson. The entire experience(s) was just 5 star! A remarkable experience for children and parents. Wedding: So when it was the right time to get married, well it was a pretty easy choice for us. Our ceremony (wedding) was at Lin Canyon ranch of course, and every single detail was absolutely Perfect!! The folks here are honest, intelligent, classy enough to please an East Coast foodie ... just a terrific place which we hope never changes.
