I booked this hotel last minute when I did an impromptu trip to Sunrise Park Resort. I enjoyed the room and everything was hassle free. I basically just needed an affordable place to crash before I head back to the Valley. I didn't get the opportunity to check out the pool or spa because I did some night skiing and the pool was closed when I got back. The nice thing about Pinetop Studio Suites is that you are a quick drive from many of the restaurants and bars in Pinetop-Lakeside. Only bummer is that everything closes early in this town. Show Low is the next city over and has more options and Sunrise is about a 30 minute drive from the hotel. I found the staff here to be interesting, but nice. read more

Ok experience. We tried to check in early so we went to the front desk, no one was there but a phone that said "Call for Service," so we called and we asked if our room was ready and the lady said yes, so we asked if we can check in early (we were there an hour before our check in time) and the lady said yes but will be a 10$ fee. Decided to just kill an extra hour but a bit ridiculous to charge even though the room was already ready. We got a room on the second floor and had to walk up some stairs. Once you first walk in and up the stairs you'll notice a smell, not really a pleasant smell. Also the side door you walk into to get into the building never closes all the way, it's slightly open. Once we got to our room, it was a basic room, nothing too good or bad. Small pillows and abnormally small toilet, close to a kids toilet, low to the ground and water was high. Overall, not a bad place if you need somewhere cheap to stay the night. Don't think I recommended if you wanted somewhere nice to spend the night if you're visiting, especially for a few days. read more

I requested a handicap accessible room only to be called the morning of our trip to make sure I actually needed a handicapped room. I told them I needed a zero entry shower, I'm not able to step over the side of a tub. Upon arrival I had what appeared to be a handicapped bathroom, but it had a bathtub and not a shower. You will see they added steps in order to get into the tub, thus making it twice as dangerous. Plenty of grab bars but none in a position for using the stairs. The worst bed I've ever slept in had 2 flat standard sized pillows, leading us to a sleepless night. In the morning realized there was no hair dryer or Kleenex, or even a phone to request them from the front desk. Walked down to office to find it vacant. My husband was able to track down a hair dryer a little later. This is the last cheap hotel we will ever stay at. read more

Everything! Toilets are for toddlers. So low to the floor and no grab bar to get up. No luggage holder. Small very cold pool. Filthy spa. Terrible paint job on walls. Patched holes in bathroom not painted. Tiny tub. Questionable staff. Some appear to live in a room or at least use it Very unprofessional. Litter outside was there for 5 days. read more

This place is disgusting! Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. Comforters had stains. Staff is unprofessional. They have a door on the side that is unlocked and anyone can walk in any time day or night. Felt unsafe here. Needless to say, we left. The place is just gross. read more

Pinetop Studio Suites is centrally located and seems clean for the most part, but I didn't go digging too deep for fear of what it might turn up. I didn't find any hairs, and the pillows appeared clean. I've stayed here 2-3 times. That said, TWO Red Flags appeared - one a safely issue, the other just a massive MFing annoyance. No.1: the ground floor 'back' entrance door always seems ajar and open to any Tom, Dick, or Jośe who's inclined to stumble in and kill everyone before anybody can say "why's it so quiet in here?". No.2: each time I've stayed at PSS, the morning maids/help have banged on my door at 8:00 even though my DO NOT DISTURB sign is out and check out isn't until 11:00. They completely disregard the sign simply because they want to finish early to make the cockroach races at the mobile home park or the weenie roast at the local railyard. Anyway.. it's very annoying and f-ing selfish on their part, and I can't believe the management allows either of these things to occur. I've seen others comment on the back door being open, and it's criminal they didn't fix it right away. Visit at your own risk. read more

Tried to check in with a prepaid reservation. It was not honored because according to the front desk clerk, the hotel (previously Super8) had changed hands to local owners 3 days prior. We were told they (new owners) were not honoring and our confirmation was not in the hotel system. Desk clerk offered to make another reservation but we declined as we had already prepaid and would have to pay twice. It was to late to cancel original reservation. NO comp breakfast or spa because of COVID according to front desk clerk. read more

Location was great, smaller hotel was nice easy to get into building with multiple entrances. We traveled with family and their room didn't have the same issues as our room. So this hotel has potential to be really good but not our experience with our room. The staff and construction workers smoke a good portion of the day so the doors open you can smell smoke in the hallways and of course the smell can travel into the rooms. The hotel was under construction however our room seemed like it was still in progress between getting remodeled but also wasn't cleaned very well either. We had missing drain covers in the sink and bathtub (not sure how the bathtub would've worked without it since we have a baby), both bath towels has grease and brown stains on them, the safety lock on the door was broken off, the towel rack for the sink was ripped off the wall, the carpet had chunks of dog hair (we have no dog), the window curtain had a brown splatter on it, the a/c had the vent all busted up, the window had a smear of some chunky substance on it, not sure what it was on it. Talked to hotel staff about how dirty even with Covid 19 at large (they don't do housekeeping each day either because of covid 19 not sure how that helps but okay) and her excuse for being no towel rack and safety on door was that they're under construction. Not good enough of an answer if you're under construction great but don't have the room you rent out be half functional and not CLEANED room. I have a young baby and was very disappointed in the lack of respect this staff had for being ethical with their business. This hotel has such a potential to be great but not our experience with our visit. read more

Let me first establish my father and I have spent decades in the hospitality industry. He specifically worked problem hotels to bring them up to franchise compliance. We started working hotels in Texas and Arizona. I also understand this is not a high end hotel and don't expect chocolates on my pillow. Even accounting for the price point and location, this is well below minimum operating expectations for this hotel. I booked a hotel deluxe king. I expected the hotel room to be a but larger and to have the jacuzzi tub in the room as is posted online. This is NOT what we got. In fact this became one massive series if comedic failures. I now understand what Griswald felt in National Lampoon. We entered the lobby where there were two females and a male behind the desk. The male I assume in the onsite manager to address needs at any hour... And boy did he have good cause to be on site. More on this later. The male was on his phone using voice to text or calls in speaker phones coordinating with house keepers on paying them for the day. The conversations were coarse and not professional in the slightest and should have been done in the managers office, not in front of guests. The keys were handed to us and not placed in a jacket with hotel room number or anything. Minor issue. But it set a tone. The room again was not what I had reserved. It was recently renovated and it was poorly excited. There are sloppy paint lines on the ceiling. The tile work is atrocious. We are missing an outlet cover under the night stand. The window was open and clearly the screen had been removed at one time. Being on the ground floor this is a huge red flag. A hanger and the bible were used as a window stop to ensure it would stay closed. Do they make tVs with less than 780? Because the tv sure was poor resolution. The king bed only had 2 pillows when it's industry standard to have 4. The floors were not swept well and definitely not mopped as there is a sticky stain in front of the fridge. The bed has no mattress protector under the fitted sheet where we discovered pet hair ON the mattress. Thankfully there were no bedbugs. The toilet is slow to flush, you must hold down the lever to make sure it flushes. There seems to be no wifi despite being an amenity offered. The remote doesn't control the cable box and had to be changed manually. While the coffee items were available, there was no coffee pot. The microwave I had also assumes but I realized after dinner it may have been hidden under the sink and tucked rather far back. I had called while we were headed to dinner that I would like the coffee pot and the microwave missing to be replaced while we were out. I most definitely do not have a coffee pot in the room. As we returned from dinner and started bringing our items we were shouted at that the water was pouring from the dry wall joints in the ceiling. It went from the rear entry way into their guest laundry room. This was caused by an overflowing toilet upstairs. They turned off water but they did restore it within about 20 minutes to address the leak. One of the faucets when turned on after the water was restored would leak for apprimately 5 minutes after we turned it off. The hotel manager and staff were not the most professional about this issue in the slightest. They acknowledged the leaking facet and basically told us to deal with it. We chose to stick it out as I had already paid. To which I genuinely regret. Upon closer inspection the floors were definitely dirty and I question how well they are cleaned between guests. Later that night the smoke detector started chirping due to low battery. When brought to the managers attention he seems disinterested. Likely because he had another guest complaint that her gear doesn't work. We removed the smoke detector and handed it to him. He can deal with the chirping. While I appreciate that COVID has impacted the hospitality industry a great deal and the attempt to renovate, this doesn't excuse the state of the hotel. I've worked in independent hotels, I have worked in franchised hotels, I've worked in exceptionally sketchy neighborhoods where the truck drivers were the most trust worthy clientele we had. This hotel room is far from acceptable even then. Deeply disappointed and will discourage anyone from staying here until there is significant changes made. read more

This is an extended stay type hotel. It is under new management and ownership. Stu and the gang there are amazing and do there very best to ensure your stay is great. They had a good breakfast in the am, and the place was quite and the beds where comfy to say the least. I would stay there again. read more

Studio 6 - 1202 east white mountain boulevard, Pinetop, AZ, 85935. We stayed for more than a week, in July, and so got the multiple days discount. Would have given 5 stars - for this low / moderate price range, but for the noise from the next rooms coming thru, and the really heavy footsteps from the upper room. Since the place was recently re-modeled, it was really neat & tidy, clean and new looking. Of course, the structure / internals would be pretty old, as well as the wiring, I am guessing. But, for us, everything was perfect except for the noise from the neighbors. But, we moved the one luggage stand to one side of the bed. They forgot to place a Bible in the room. I'm sorry but we had a room that cost $100 a night where the phone DID NOT work (unable to call out for an emergency or to contact the front desk) and I had to go get our own towels, coffee, clean up the room and make our own bed for 2 days. I get it, there is Covid out there but I don't understand how it costs so much for a room that we did all the services that is expected at a hotel. There are excuses but there is also pure laziness and lack of good property management in this Studio Pines/ Motel 6. I have stayed at a Motel 6 before and this is what I would have expected at a Motel 6 but I made reservations at Studio Pines in Lakeside, Arizona. Heads up management of Studio 6 in Pinetop, AZ. I doubt you have many return customers after our experience on 5/29/21. It started when we were in line to checkin and two new check-ins returned because their rooms were already occupied. There was a man sitting on the toilet in our friends room when they walked in. The toilet didn't flush in the room they ended up in and there was no fridge or microwave. We had those things in our room, but the cable box was missing, so we had no TV. The bathroom light was out, so we had to turn on the heat lamp timer to be able to see, and, only two other lights in the room worked. Also, that pool is too small for staff and guests. read more
