What a Very peaceful place. I would definitely recommend this place. Staff is nice, grounds are well kept, and quiet. The condos have a w/d, full kitchen and fully stocked. Their recreation center has video games and a pool table. There's also tennis along with pickle ball courts. However, our one bedroom smelled a bit sour the entire time we were there. (Might have been a garbage disposal issue or old cloth used for cleaning. And I Didn't feel like purchasing cleaning supplies!) The king bed was a bit lumpy. Furthermore, the little gym has a broken elliptical that stays on level one. No AC in any of the rooms either. But it is pretty cool outside AND they tell people ahead of time that they have no air. Still, the pluses outweigh the needs.

I woke to a white Christmas Eve.  Flakes of snow fell from the sky.  Tiny flakes caught on the wind and floated down in random patterns.  Trees were coated in snow and became white.  It was a lovely transformation as the night before they were a deep green.  HR-V was covered in a blanket of white for the first time.  It was a lovely contrast between the black car and the white snow.  It was my first time staying in the mountains and having a white Christmas.   Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona is a small town of around 4,000.  At an elevation of 6,804 there is a good chance of snow when there is a winter storm.  I love seeing Ponderosa Pines everywhere.  It's relaxing here away from the busy city I'm use to. I've stayed at the Worldmark here twice.  Full size fridge is big enough hold all my ice packs plus 4 half gallons of Blue Bell ice cream.  Staff is friendly and helpful.  Condo's are well insulated against the cold weather with dual pane low-E windows.  I loved staying here.  The only things that would make my stay even better would be a larger freezer, big whirlpool tub.  Hooking up my laptop to the HDMI port was a bit tricky.  Tv needed to be set to either channel 101, 102, or 103 depending on which HDMI port you plug into. One problem we had with the Worldmark is the lack of insulation between floors.  If you are on the ground floor you will hear all the walking of the people above you.  Another problem is if you lose something management won't look for it till the next guest moves out.  In Maggie's case the next guest stole her rolling pin.  That was strange as I guess that next guest was a thieving baker... Pinetop some good places to eat.  Darbi's Cafe has some great tasting dishes while Grumpy Jake's has some good bbq.  The Chalet has great tasting bread. Pinetop-Lakeside reminds me a bit of Julian, CA except there are a lot less tourists.  I loved staying at Pinetop-Lakeside watching snow falling down and painting the world white. Lots more photos on our hungryones blog.

Greetings from Pinetop! Our first time booking at this resort in Arizona. We booked a studio unit (max occupancy of 2 and they enforce the allowed occupancy for each unit on all WorldMark resorts). Our studio unit came with a Queen Murphy bed in the living area and a mini kitchen... a 2-burner stove, microwave oven and refrigerator. No dishwasher but we had an oven as the one-, two- and three- bedrooms do. We didn't use the gas fireplace but it is there if we wanted to use on cold nights. We were on the ground unit so we didn't have a deck but we had a little outside patio which included a gas barbecue grill. The location is beautiful and the crisp mountain air cool and refreshing. The units have a log cabin style of living and is cozy. This resort is surrounded by White Mountains and ponderosa pines. Hubby is fascinated with Bigfoot and was hoping to get a sighting during our stay... no such luck. LoL! All WorldMark resorts come with a "starter" supply of spices, coffee, creamer/sugar and some basic toiletry items but if we had to run out for some sundries and other things or if we wanted to cook or barbecue in-house our nearest grocery store was Safeway which was some 3 miles from the resort. There was also a WalMart further down. This resort is located 7,200 feet above sea level, which may take some getting used to (I didn't have any problem with it), but if you're used to living at lower altitudes you may require some temporary adjustment. Where we come from in Roseville, the elevation is 165 feet above sea level. We stayed at the Santa Fe WorldMark Resort once which was 7,320-feet above sea level and we had no issues at all. Would love to come back here for a longer vacation next time. We pleasantly enjoyed our short stay. We were here for 3 nights. Review #0600

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it was truly a wonderful experience! We were immediately in love with the tall pine trees surrounding the resort style cabins. There's plenty of things to do including a Recreation room full of games, air hockey, ping pong table, pool table, video arcade games , a gym with up to date weights , treadmill and elliptical machines. There is a vending machine with snacks and a nice cozy fireplace with comfy chairs to just relax. Pool jacuzzi , tetherball, tennis and basketball court. We relaxed , played, hiked and rented a paddle boat that is close to the resort , at Rainbow lake. Highly recommend this squeaky clean and super stocked with the convinces of home including your own bbq.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It is quiet and relaxing we have a barbecue on the balcony and a fireplace in the family room. Friendly and helpful staff.

That is what makes it a very special time in my opinion. Time to think and reflect, do projects, binge shows from your favorite streaming service, take long walks in the neighborhood and along nearby trails, and truly pull back from the normal day to day. With my dog nearby, it was a truly rejuvenating week. The units have everything one needs to be comfortable. Full kitchens, comfortable furnishings, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a deck with furniture and a grill for your outside moments, and TVs, strong wifi, garage, and even a washer and dryer. I highly recommend Quality Hill for a great change of scenery, especially if you live in the Phoenix or Tucson areas. Pinetop is at 7300' in elevation, so the air is clean and the temps are much cooler. Hope you plan a visit soon!

As such each condo is decorated and equipped differently. Ours was comfortable and well equipped...even had a cappuccino machine but no instructions for use. Location wise Pinetop Showlow is great..it's les than 90 miles to Petrified Forest, Meteor Crater, Ft Apache, Sunrise Ski, Springerville ( great museum) Kinishba Ruins, etc. The resort has an excellent clubhouse with gym, board games, etc. If you like that kind of stuff. Now you can't be out doing stuff all the time..so I've got one item that got me...and it gets me at many resorts...it's streaming TV...impossible in most instances to get local news. Often limited channel choices unless you want to sign into your own Netflix etc. But why would a resort in this day and age select a streaming service that doesn't include live as on Dish or Cable versions of Fox or CNN or MSNBC...yes...I'm kind of a news junkie. Oh...almost forgot....this place has a garage for every unit....wow!!!! That's nice.

We found PVC at the Roundhouse Resort through Hotels.com, which had great reviews. We chose this place because of the amenities they had, given we had our 4 year old with us too! What caught my eye before purchasing was the mini golf and chess game provided to guests. I thought this would be great for my 4 year old to have something to do! Check in was easy, especially given we had reservations prior. Keep in mind there is a $200 deposit/hold when you arrive and a nightly fee of $14. The staff were very friendly and sweet! From the time we arrived to the time we checked out, they were always so helpful! Couldn't ask for better customer service! We were assigned to cabin 5, the deluxe. We were amazed by the cleanliness and the size of our cabin! It felt like a home! The cabin had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, and kitchen. The inside was very modern, freshly painted, and decorated so nicely! The patio was perfect, which also had a bbq grill and seating! It was so nice enjoying the weather from the patio! My fave part of this stay, which is most important, were the beds! They were sooooo comfortable and so clean and the pillows felt like we were like lying on a little piece of heaven! We all slept so good the nights we stayed! Unfortunately, we didn't get to try out the amenities as I hoped because we spent a lot of our time at the lakes and site seeing. Although, our cabin was right in front of the mini golf, which was nice. We got to see other guests play from time to time. Overall, PVC at the Roundhouse Resort was beyond our expectations! We enjoyed our stay so much! We will be back again! Thank you for the amazing customer service and the wonderful stay!

Teach a man to fish, you get rid of him for the weekend! Guys, I gotta confess: I never went fishing before. Well, not really anyways. I've gone fishing with the family as a kid but I usually just played on the shore and grilled things while everybody else went fishing. So when I was invited to head up to Hawley Lake for two days and two nights, I was all for it! Enter: Hawley Lake Cabins by CDC. First off, let's not compare this to a hotel. These are cabins. I'm talking bare basic cabins. No TV [although you're free to bring your own. This place does have electricity and stuff.], no telephone, no alarm clock, no radio, no shampoo & conditioner included! Even the appliances and toilet are smaller than usual. Looking to use your cell for anything besides texting, calling, or being a paperweight? Forget it! Good luck using your 4G out here. Cellphone reception is spotty --- but what do you really expect when you're like 10 miles into the woods, surrounded by trees and a giant lake with wolves, elk, cows, and horses roaming freely about the land? People come here to sleep and then go fishing and/or hunting [provided they get picked for their lottery during hunting season]. The water from the tap can come out Arctic cold to boiling hot so be careful. Described on their site as, "Surrounded by lofty mountain peaks covered with spruce, pine and aspen, the serene setting of Hawley Lake has become one of the most popular attractions on the Fort Apache Reservation." --- Couldn't of said it better myself. So if you want to do some fishing and go offline for a bit, come here! It's kind of nice being surrounded by nature. Just remember to bring your SPF sunscreen, bug repellent [mosquitoes remind us that we are not as high up on the food chain as we think], and shampoo & conditioner!
