The guys running the office took the time to come to the cabin and got it started along with bringing wood into the cabin for us.

They came to get there cleaning supplies moved the table and chairs making noise woke us up. Not cool. The room wasn't actually cleaned. The floor was filthy the toilet seat was broken if you had cleaned the room or even checked it you would have noticed this. I filed a CORPORATE COMPLAINT WITH HEADQUARTERS and they did nothing since I didnt speak to management. Why they dont have another sweet especially didnt have a balcony. I couldnt stay anywhere else as my mom was staying here as well for her upcoming surgery. There was nothing the property management could have done! But what you can do is not advertise a suite with a balcony that you dont have the suite is cold and univiting. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Walking into the room you are greeted by decor that looks like its from the 70's. Carpet has stains on it and the bedspread is worn and needs replaced. The mattress has indentations on both sides. The parking lot has huge potholes and being on a motorcycle it's tough to maneuver around them. On the plus side the staff was helpful and the area around the hotel is pretty with all the trees. If I come to this area again I'll stay in Showlow and not here.

THAT was the most unpleasant hotel reservation experience I ever had. But as it turned out, the hotel was great. Polite and efficient front desk staff, a very comfortable bed, and a shower with excellent water pressure. Then in the morning, an adequate breakfast. What more could one ask for? If you come to the area, I recommend this property over the other Choice Hotel properties in the area. I'd tried the others in the past and found them lacking. This hotel is well run.

The only saving grace was the front desk staff, June and Brendon, who were very polite and did what they could to help. However, the management and housekeeping are non-existent. My room was disgustingly dirty at check-in. The bed comforter was soiled, and the bathtub drain was completely clogged with hair from a previous guest. When I reported it, I was told housekeeping was too busy. Brendon at the front desk actually had to come up and clean the drain himself just so I could take a bath. The rest of the room was never cleaned, even after a housekeeper directly promised me she would handle it. On top of the filth, there is a major security risk: the side door to the parking lot that requires a key card was left wide open and unlocked my entire stay. The hallways were also filthy. To top it off, they fraudulently overcharged my bank card an extra $50 after promising a flat $25 fee. I am currently working with guest relations to rectify the problem I will update this is the solution is to my satisfaction. In the meantime, avoid this place at all costs. It's disgusting.

There are 2 areas to fish from. They have a Jon Boat, peddle boat, and kayaks that are available for free on a first come/first served basis but only during office hours 9-4pm. There is a bigger boat for rent but it was broken. There were lots of trees and shade which we liked. We stayed in the Ash cabin. It was not great. It is old. The "comfort zones" which we later found out were heaters were on and set to 80° when we arrived. It was very warm inside when we arrived and we didn't figure out until too late that we were turning the heaters down to cool things off not off. There were no manuals to help instruct us on temperature control and we had to text the after hours number to get help. It took 2+ days to cool this place down. They encouraged us to open windows at night but not many of the windows (none upstairs) had screens. There is no cooling unit upstairs but they brought us some box fans which didn't help much. The plumbing upstairs was slow and had to be snaked because the sink wouldn't drain. Fridge took some time to cool down but then worked fine. Couches are worn and you sink down into them. We read that every cabin has a fireplace but ours didn't which was disappointing. There was 1 smart tv. We tried to log into Disney but someone else was already logged in. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but then the TV needed a pin that we didn't have. WiFi worked well. The kitchen was clean and had what we needed. The blinds are dusty. We probably wouldn't stay here again unless there were some significant updates.
