Tried this restaurant on fish fry Friday based on neighbors' recommendations. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. We ordered fried and broiled fish. The presentation was good, but fish was not very good. The server was nice but a bit over the top and loud. No need to return. read more

Great food! We had the buffalo chicken wrap and the ahi tuna sandwich, (It has a specific name but I can't remember it.) It was amazing though. Good variety on the menu and great service. Can't wait to go back. read more

Pinecrest is located in a golf course facility out in Huntley. We went here during the winter so the place was pretty empty. The restaurant has a large dining room and a separate area for banquets/parties. The place is spacious and nicely decorated. We went for the Sunday brunch to celebrate a birthday. We were a group of 10 and there was one other party of 4 dining when we did. Service was very attentive and they seated up in the banquet room so our kids could make noise/run around without bothering the other party. Our waitress (I think the manager/owner) was very nice and attentive. Food was on par with what you would expect at a hotel breakfast. The hot items included eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, bacon and sausage. There was also fruit and a few danishes. None were particularly good, but it served its purpose for the celebration. I assume this place is a little more lively and the food may be a bit better during the golf season. read more

Went there for Mother's Day brunch with our family of 10. Had reservations for 1:00. It was absolutely terrible! There was very little selection, but that could have been acceptable. There was little to no food put out. It took forever for them to refill the food trays. They ran out of prime rib, appetizers, and desserts. People had to wait forever for clean plates and food trays to be refilled. I understand that we had a later seating for brunch but when you know that you have people with reservations coming in you need to make sure that you have fresh food that is presented as nice as it was for the first seating and also enough food too. Won't ever go back and would not recommend. read more

I love this course!!!!! It's not, of course, a Golf Digest 5 star.. But if you're an average golfer looking for a reasonably priced course with friendly people and always in great shape..you can't go wrong at Pinecrest!!!! PS- great food..and my brother in Law got married here it was the perfect classy casual atmosphere for a wedding! read more

I went to a wedding reception here about a year ago and the food and service was wonderful! My husband and I tried the restaurant for dinner and it was just ok. Food was ok. Service could have been better (wasn't ran so smoothly). But atmosphere is nice. May or may not go back...not sure yet. read more

Fish and chips were great. Ian is a fantastic server. They just need to hire additional servers to help him because he seemed to be doing everything himself. The little dogs running around while we were trying to eat was not what we had in mind to share our dining space with, especially since one relieved himself on our friend's golf bag, even if they were cute. read more

Mothers Day Brunch buffet was great, tremendous variety of both breakfast, lunch and dinner items all cooked to perfection. Waitstaff all very friendly, helpful and outgoing. We had reservations for 9am and were seated quickly after being greeted by hostess and carnations were given to the Mothers in our group. Great job Pinecrest team! read more

My goodness gracious, our Sunday brunch was great! Service: We had our parent's 50th wedding anniversary brunch at Pinecrest and the banquet manager was perfect. From my first contact (via email) to the checkout with the tab, it was smooth. I was a high maintenance customer (I can say it!) but every question or change was perfectly fine. Kitchen: This is happy breakfast brunch. Every generation was able to find something they liked. We had great breakfast meats, eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, custom omelets, pancakes, waffles, nice fresh fruit, and perfect mini-desserts as a finale. Delicious! Facility: Beautiful new-looking facility, appears ADA compliant, the bathrooms are handy, and this was one of the cleanest restaurant kitchens I've seen in awhile. Private space: They set aside a private area for us right by the regular brunch, with a nice table for the cake and cards. They recommended the bakery for the special decorated cake, and it was perfect. We had @60 people. Attitude: Do I need another chair, more coffee, yet another chair? No problem. My guests were delighted and several said they've found a new favorite. Overlooking the golf course, listening to family and friends chattering, eating --- can life get better? read more

My family and I went here for the Sunday breakfast buffet and we were pleasantly surprised! We went in to try a breakfast buffet fully understanding that the food a not be 5 star! When walked up to the buffet and scooped the eggs I was amazed to see that these were REAL scrambled eggs and not egg wash or powdered! Then to the bacon it wasn't the thin microwaved eggs at all buffets but the thick Applewood bacon that some breakfast places have! It was awesome! For the price it is well worth going to! read more

Kinda felt like an old folks place on a Friday night. Went to try the fish fry. just ok - especially for the price. Old guy playing a synthesizer and accordian - reminded me of Nikos in terms of the geriatric crowd. May be better for after golf beers? read more

We live in the area so we frequent the beautiful deck overlooking the golf course. The service is slow and pretty bad every time. Food is meh.. never had anything exciting. Really hope they can improve the service and add a few unique and great dishes because Huntley has so few options and the deck is fabulous. Would love to see a couple microbrews on tap. read more

We are here on a Saturday steak night. Drinks were priced as one would expect. We had the shrimp appetizer and there were lots of large shrimp and it was very good. My husband had the $20 prime rib with salad and he said it was excellent and comparable to much more expensive prime rib. I had the short ribs and they were outstanding! The soup of the day was very good too. I highly recommend dining here! Can't wait to try the fish fry. read more

Had my wedding reception here and was HORRIBLE Worst service ever.. first of all the linen prices went for $5.00 to $10.00 to $20.00 3 days before the wedding.. and the wedding coordinator of the place (one of the waitresses) added the total wrong so 3 days before the wedding she caught it and gave us a different total which was $500.00 more.. she gave us the WRONG bar package because she assumed thats the one I wanted. During the reception when I asked for the stuff they should have already done they brought what I needed but brought my contract with them while I was at the head table talking to guests.. Who in the world would do that! They were VERY VERY unprofessional and I will never recommend them. Its sad because the place itself was beautiful and the food was good but the service was so bad. If you ever think of having a party here..think again.. its not worth it and you will not be happy after it. read more
