Went here on a Sunday at 4pm. Saw a sign for a special as we walked in. It was $16.95 for a full slab rib dinner. Normally $25. We sat down at a table a placed an order for two slab rib dinners. Shorty after placing the order, the waiter came back and said they were out of ribs. It was only 4pm! There was not that many people in the restaurant when we ordered, so why they were out of ribs already was crazy. We had to order something else. Too hot to cook so we stopped in on a Saturday night. He got an old fashioned (on special!) and a smash burger. I had the grilled shrimp tacos. For some reason they don't put cheese on the tacos (but lots of veggies!) and they were pretty good. They come in corn tortillas which aren't my favorite so I ate the filling out of two of them and then devoured the chips and salsa (corn tortillas are great when fried!). Service was very good and even though a baseball team was also in there we didn't wait long for our food. We will be back! read more

Long overdue review for this fabulous restaurant! The most recent time I visited, my husband and I split their massive nacho platter for dinner. The nachos were made quickly and was nice and hot and tasted so delicious,! I've never seen so many fresh jalapenos on a nacho platter before! I highly recommend and also takes to note that a month ago we held my husband's 50th birthday party there on a Saturday night. I couldn't have picked a better place as they were so flexible with the menu, everyone raved about the food and the service was top notch! Went after an event. The waitress was fun and easy going. We order pizza and a burger. The food was fresh and tasty. The pizza was a bbq and I always worry about the sauce. My wife and I just tried this place. We enjoyed the food. All the staff seemed quite interested in making sure we were happy. They are very focused on good customer service which explained why I watched everyone from bar patrons to families walking through the door on a Thursday night with smiles. Great drinks and okay food at this pub in Huntley. It didn't look like anything special upon pulling up on it. Pub 47 could have been one of those nasty kind of locals places with the slot machines and sketchy employees and regulars. Amazingly it wasn't and was actually clean. The prices are pretty good on most things. Came in and it wasn't busy. It could have been a bad sign. This is apparently more of a late night kind of place apparently so it made sense for this. It's about $8 for cocktails. Simple one was the Ranch Water. Easy to make. This is Blanco tequila with lime juice and soda water. Great choice for a healthier cocktail. There's also healthy choices for the food as well. It's about $10 for the Mediterranean Platter. This is hummus, pitas, and vegetables. Simple item. The rest of the food is meaty with burgers and that kind of stuff. Healthy choices for a bar. It's a much better selection than you may think. We've been there a handful of times. First visit I had outstanding nachos. The second visit we had underdone pizza with greasy beer nuggets. Everyone has a bad day. Stopped by to order a to go meal. I ordered a BLT with fries. I sat at the bar while this was made. Friendly staff and patrons. Bar was warm (it was winter) and had a nice set up. Ordered a soda while I waited. When my order was ready, quicker than I'd expected, the bartender was nice enough to fill a to go cup of soda to take with me after I finished my soda at the bar. We have been planning to visit this place since we moved back to Illinois, and finally did it. My reaction is, what took us so long? You go into a large dining room and since it was lunch, there was no crowd. I had the Italian beef sandwich on a hard roll with their homemaker chips, (the south sider) and it was easily the best I have ever had. Even in Chicago! The beef was tender, not a speck of fat,and the chips were delicious. My wife had the quesadilla and she reported them to be nothing short of outstanding. There was much on their menu to bring us back and I can't wait. As I said, I don't know why it took me so long. Don't make the same mistake. this place is worth your trip, however long. And not incidentally, the server was attentive and personable. I hated to leave. read more

We have lived in Huntley for over 10 years and have never eaten here because of the low Yelp reviews. Then, in our search for Poutine, we realized Pub 47 has it. So we decided to give them a try. It was awesome! Second only to some we enjoyed in Utah - better than multiple places in Canada. Hot gooey cheese with tender flavorful brisket over crispy hot fries and a tasty gravy. Soooooo goood. Pork chop dinner was an excellent value. The chicken rice soup was super delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Bar atmosphere - clean and pleasant. We will be back. Not sure why some of the reviewers were haters - but lots of the low reviews are from years ago. This place is a solid choice. read more

My wife, her 3 sisters, and I met here for an early dinner and had a very nice time. The bartender Amanda had a great personality. She poured a good Guinness for me (although it was a bit flat) and she made a great specialty cocktail for my wife. The 5 of us were seated at a table meant for 4 so it was a bit cozy. I would have liked to be at a bigger table but they didn't have one available. I was surprised how busy they were so early in the dinner window. A good problem for them to have I guess. Our waitress Julie initially seemed a bit harried, however as we settled in at our table and ordered, she was appropriately attentive, providing consistent, prompt service throughout our visit. The longer we were there, we got a better understanding of her good sense of humor and fun personality. A few of us tried different burgers. another the fish and chips, and another tried the Southsider sandwich. All the entrees were very good. Their fries and coleslaw were very well done. Fair warning, their half-pound burgers are big and tasty so bring your appetite. We ended the meal by sharing a piece of cake that was absolutely decadent. The wine was ice cold (love it that way!), the fish & chips were excellent, and the Mac & Cheese tasted like homemade with the bread crumbs. Our waitress was the bartender too. She was awesome running around trying to do everything. She did a great job but we did notice a "manager" that brought out some of the food but got busy talking to a patron so he stopped doing that. There were two hostesses - so one of them could have helped Carol out too. In a nutshell, food & Carol were excellent. I'd just suggest some of the other employees pitching in to help. read more

This place is great! The service is always great. Except the host one time asked if I needed a kids' menu and I was like... I'm 23. I was honestly so pissed about it. Outside of that, their Bloody's are great! They give you a sheet that asks what you want inside of the drink and you just check off what you want. Some cost a little extra, but it is soooooooo worth it. Foodwise, this place is amazing and I've never had an issue. I've had their Reuben and a chicken sandwich. Both amazing dishes! Horrible calzone. Sauce was burnt and smelled burnt. I politely told Angelina, our waitress, and she smiled and said sorry. No manager came out to further talk about it. It's like they didn't even care. I don't think she even told anybody else. They must be used to complains. I have had a few calzones there and they have been great. This review will be a bit short. We came here after eating from a food truck at Sew Hopd and we were still hungry. We got their chips: they were good and a Pin 47 Calzone. Something in the Calzone was off (tasted freezer burned). We settled up and the bartender asked if we wanted to take the Calzone; we told him we didn't like it. He was cool and said we should have said something (he was right) so we didn't like the food but we may try again sometime. read more

Ok..current update on a visit Saturday@7:30pm. It seems the Pandemic Menu is disappearing! New and delicious items popping up. Tonight, we had the battered cheese curds which was lightly deep fried with their yummy sauce, the barbecue ribs were fall of the bone excellent along with the abundance of home made potato chips. The amount of their excellent Cole slaw was a bit disappointing but the rest of the meal was superior! Waitress was very very attentive. A gold star to the owner hiring all their restaurant help. Slapped together interior, less than adequate wait service, we were one of 3 tables??? The rest were just having drinks, 2 other families and my family, couldn't get service, couldn't get refills on our drinks. Pizza was below standard pizza, I would have to say almost every other pizza place in Huntley has better pizza by miles. I do have to say though, my burger and my wife's burger was very good, we enjoyed the burger and the fries were cooked to perfection. But if I had a choice I wouldn't be returning again, the atmosphere was meh. It was tv's slapped on the wall and literally nothing else. When you go out to eat you expect to feel like a getaway for the night, eating good food around good people, enjoying your surroundings. This place was not that at all. For 70 dollars not including tip, there is a pretty big list for the places you can have it all and pay the same price.... I would go there to drink, plenty of room to drink and have a good time.
