I am no connoisseur of Cuban cafe, but we found ourselves in the neighborhood needing a cafe to while away some time before meeting somebody. Yelp turned out surprisingly few options and I've tried Pinecrest Bakery's other locations before, so here we came. I was surprised how large this place is. The parking lot is quite large and decorated with planters and a giant cock statue. it's adjacent to a restuarant. We ordered some pastelitos and coffee. I find them delicious enough, may not be the best in my life but nothing to complain about. The place is bright and the tables are clean. $2.50 for a cafecito is more than I expected... didn't it use to be 99 cents, like, not too many years ago? But that's what inflation is now, sadly.

Bon Appetit!

Nicest looking Pinecrest Bakery ever

Good food good service and nice quiet breakfast. The outside is easily the nicest decorated Pinecrest Bakery I've ever been to, crazy to see how fast this place has expanded. The quality of the pastries was consistent and the coffee was strong per order. I liked that they had a system in place to get orders taken fast; you can tell they're used to high volume and they operate that way even when there's only a few folks. Theres an outdoor seated area, inside there are nice tables and stools if you want to enjoy your purchase in-store.

Chicken sandwich is always good here. It comes out hot and fresh and it is very filling. Sometimes they don't have all the ingredients available but it still tastes good. The service is good as well, the ladies are always friendly. They have a lot of food and desserts to choose from here and different drinks available too.

Had a quick bite (empanadas)and a Cafecito on Sunday morning. Love when you enter. You are immediately greeted with a smile! The dining area is very spacious, and there's even outdoor seating! It's very busy, so make sure you're early and don't forget to get a number as soon as you walk inside!

This review is only regarding Guayaba Restaurant only... The restaurant is honestly so chic and the waitresses are all very nice. We came here on a Wednesday afternoon and it was almost empty, so the entire wait staff was very attentive. We ordered and within 15 minutes all the plates came out fresh and with huge portions! Everything was delicious, and we had to take food home because there was so much left over. I highly recommend the restaurant (I've previously had negative experiences with the bakery through Uber eats) but the restaurant has never given me issues.

This location is in cutler Bay, I got coffee, Cuban bread, breakfast with eggs bacon and papa frita, croquettes, tequiones , and beef empanada. The food here is sub far, walking in the restaurant and inside the restaurant makes you feel like your in Hialeah, it has a Latin vibe, but the food seem American, I didn't know papa frito were the same fries from checkers, the coffee I could of passed on but everything else was doable, but not impressive.

I have never had a pastelito before, and I'm glad I waited until trying the Guava and Cheese one at Pinecrest Bakery. This location of Pinecrest Bakery is located in an inviting plaza. As soon as you walk in, you are welcomed with a big smile from the register and an endless assortment of treats on display. The pastelito had a flakey crust and the inside guava and cheese perfectly complimented each other. I can't wait to go back and try more from Pinecrest Bakery - I heard that they breakfast menu is really good!

And finally you get some croquettes. Not a huge fan of the croquettes here but they are OK. As previously mentioned, we have been here several time and on this trip, the hostess said if you want to be in the room of mirrors. What? I said OK and they took us to the back, where it is a, well... room of mirrors. The way she said it made me think, should I be concerned. But it was a big open area. The whole place is very nice. We love the large parking area because this place is packed most of the time. We actually came back and ordered another Cubano for the flight home. You should have seen the people looking at us while we ate our Cubano and they enjoyed their pretzel braids. :)

The shop is small with only the shared outdoor seating with other nearby restaurants. The Pan Con Bistec was very tasty and I liked the crispy bits inside. The flavor of the sauce could have been more pronounced but otherwise a really good sandwich. The Pan con Lechon was okay overall because it tasted very one note flavor and texture wise. The meat was moist and tender but I preferred the Bistec and the Cubano. They also provided a garlic dipping sauce which was very flavorful. However I felt that it overpowered a lot of the sandwich flavors. I also got the Mamey Batida which was smooth and subtle with its sweetness. My first time having a Batida and I really liked the consistency but will probably be choose a different flavor next time.

Our server was friendly throughout the evening and the food was pretty quick to come out. I didn't know before coming here but Cafe La Trova was listed on the Top 50 Bars of North America for 2026 and so I had to get the Buenavista drink which is highlighted as their award winner. Admittedly, I was let down by the drink. The balance was a bit off and overall I wasn't very impressed. However the food more than made up for it. The ropa vieja was very savory and the avocado cream was very zesty/citrus which helped cut down some of the richness of the dish. My only note would be to give some more avocado cream since there were only 2 little dollops. The Arroz Con Pollo was excellent! Super flavorful and I could eat this everyday and be happy. The tomatoes and olives add that extra bit of acidity which was perfect. Living in Miami I knew service was going to be bad for the rest of the meal so for the first time ever we just got up and left. I left a 1 star review on Google Maps. The reason I'm leaving another one on Yelp is that they responded to the other review telling me to email them to continue the conversation. I did it 7 days ago and they completely ignored it which tracks at how customer service is handled here. I suspect the same thing will happen and I'll have to leave another review on a different platform. I think something happened at Cafe La Trova where they're now just some corporate entity that's cashing in on the goodwill of the brand but they will eventually run the business into the ground. No one is at home here.
