The Pineapple Lanai stop in the Disney Polynesian resort doesn't really need a review. The star of the show is definitely the Dole pineapple whip that is iconic to Disney. So, I see lots of pictures of Dole pineapple whip on Disney blogs, Instagram, and various posts from Disney lovers. This is the first time, at my age, that I have tried the Dole pineapple whip. I get the hype! It's tart, refreshing, sour, and sweet-all at the same time! It's perfect and it complements the warm Florida atmosphere as a cooling treat. To find this little gem you go to the first floor of the Disney Polynesian resort and walk out the back door towards the pool area. The Pineapple Lanai will be on your left. You can order the Dole pineapple whip by itself, or swirled with a vanilla soft serve ice cream, or in a pineapple juice-vanilla float. Souvenir cups and bowls are extra of course, this is Disney after all. If you can't have your Dole Whip in the Magic Kingdom, it's worth a trip out of your way on the monorail to come here for it. read more

Outside of Hawaii, these are some of the best Dole Whips around. The sweetness and tart flavor of the pineapple are in perfect balance here. They're pretty generous with their swirls too. I also like trying their season flavors when they're available. I only wish they could add fresh pineapple to the whips like they do in Hawaii. That would be perfect! read more

Everyone raved about this place. It was really tasty, but I also can't eat a lot of pineapple because I've got a mild allergy/intolerance. It is VERY pineapple. Oh wow. If you love pineapple, you will die happily here. I got the soft serve hoping it would be more ice cream like and less pineapple. It tasted awesome and was so nice since it was stupid hot outside. About halfway done, my face was looking splotchier and my tongue was painful and swollen. Haha so worth it. My boyfriend had the float which I didn't try because I was thinking the juice would be worse on the allergy. He ended up eating mine also and was about to pop because they give you a TON. pretty much a whole pineapple. Also, the line is always long so be prepared to wait ! read more

Still difficult to get to since it's inside the Disney Polynesian resort. However I'm happy that I did not have to deal with the parking garage at Disney Springs. Not as many choices as the Disney springs dole whip but definitely is sufficient for a craving. read more

Another Disney By James review! This is one of the only places outside of Adventureland where you can grab fabled dole whip. Nothing fancy about this location as it's just a takeaway counter at the Polynesian Resort, but it's usually quiet so you can grab your snacks quickly and be on your way. read more

Always been a fan of the pineapple/vanilla swirl dole whip ever since it was sold in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom... For quite some time now, they started to only offer the pineapple flavor without the vanilla which was a bit of a disappointment since to me, this is way too sweet to finish- It's just not the same... Once we heard news that the pineapple/vanilla swirl lives in the Polynesian resort, my boyfriend and I made it a point to visit eventually. Visiting with family, we ate in the cafe downstairs and found the little shop outside and around the corner. Finally, we were reunited with the best dessert we've been dreaming about. The swirl flavors compliment each other so well, satisfying our long term craving and keeping us coming back for more. Visited the place 2 weekends in a row! Kind of a hassle to get to if you're on a time crunch, but soooo worth the trip! read more

Yum, Yum, Yum - what more can I say. It is awesome to have the ability to order a Dole Whip outside the Magic Kingdom and my favorite is to order a pineapple and vanilla swirl with pineapple juice. The location is on the first floor near the entrance for the pool and there is often decent line for this dessert, but the wait is well worth it. I personally would love a shot of rum with this dessert, but they do not offer that option. read more

This cool place is situated in one of Disney's greatest resorts on property; the Polynesian. tucked in the corner between the lobby and the pool park, this place is a great stop to cool off and have a delicious Dole-Pineapple ice cream treat. You basically have 3 options: Vanilla, Pineapple or swirl. Let's be real, go for the swirl!! It is amazing! Get it in the large ice cream sundae cup and you won't be disappointed. Sure it comes at the cost of a Disney price point but it's worth it. You get both typed of ice cream soft serve doused with pineapple juice to make the perfect cool treat for a hot day at the pool! They even sell them in the park (Magic Kingdom. Not sure about the others). if you're staying at this resort, or just checking the place out, like I was, stop by, relax, and have a treat at Pineapple Lanai. read more

I believe this is the only place that you can order dole whip outside of the parks (besides maybe the hawaii location!). It is delicious! During our visit they had the traditional pineapple flavor and a lime option. We sampled the lime flavor but ended up going with the traditional swirled with vanilla. The serving sizes are very generous! read more

Pineapple Lanai is a take-out window located in Disney's Polynesian Resort. It's fairly new and was added as part of the recent renovation they are doing on the property. They used to serve the famous Dole Whip at Captain Cook's on the property, but no longer as they now have a dedicated place just for Dole Whip. The window serves the original Pineapple Dole Whip, and also Vanilla as well. They also offer it swirled with both flavors. Like in Adventureland, they also offer it as a float with pineapple juice. You can get either option in a normal cup or in a souvenir bowl for the whip or a souvenir glass for the float. It's $4.25 (with taxes) for the Dole Whip in a normal cup which is what we ordered. The cup is small, but it's swirled up high! There's a few tables where you can sit down and enjoy it or you can take it over to the beach and wait for the fireworks show which is what we did! Dole Whip is of course a nice delicious treat and it's great to order it without the lines and still with the all ambiance of the beautiful Polynesian Resort. read more

Are all dole whips the same? Not sure, but Pineapple Lanai has the creamiest pineapple dole whip. It is outside the Polynesian Hotel near the pool. You can cool off from the heat then take a dip in an amazing pool. I love this hotel and come here every time I'm in town. So happy they now offer my favorite dessert. read more

I stopped by the Pineapple Lanai to purchase a Dole Whip. This item is intensely popular with locals and tourists alike. It has a following and is often blogged about. Dole Whip is a pineapple flavored non-dairy soft serv ice cream. It is very good and served either in a cup or as a float. Dole Whip is often confused with a similar product....Citrus Swirl. The Citrus Swirl is equally popular and I personally think that is the better of the two. My dedication and vote goes to the Citrus Swirl. read more

Lime, Pineapple, Lemon Dole Whips - One of the few places outside of a park to get dole whip, Pineapple Lanai delivers the hits. Throughout our trip we were able to get lemon, lime and pineapple here plus a couple of special floats. Here are my personal Dole Whip Rankings: Dole whip rankings Pineapple - great flavor and creamy smooth texture Lemon - Pineapple Lanai - tart and refreshing Orange - Sunshine Treat - excellent both as a creamsicle and on it's own. Get the lava burst thing. I lava float. Raspberry - Aloha Isle - great flavor and creamy Lime - Pineapple Lanai - great flavor but sherbet texture. Little icy. UPDATE - last day was creamier and delicious. So, could be hit or miss. Lime - Storybook Treats - great flavor and creamy taste. Could be soft serve and not dole whip. Pineapple with Coconut - Simba's sunset - Tamu Tamu - best coconut flavor mostly because of the syrup. This was light and refreshing, but ours was very melty. Cream Cheese soft serve - Storybook treats - This was really weird. It intrigues you more than anything else but it isn't very good. Better when mixed with the coke but again, not great. So you want a dole whip but maybe you don't want to go into the parks or don't have access to a certain park? Go no further than hitting up Pineapple Lanai at the Polynesian Village Resort. There's a stop coming off the Monorail that will drop you off to the 3rd or 4th floor. Where you want to go is on the 1st floor near the guest pool. Sure it's a little of a maze when it's humid, hot, and you're tired but once you find it you can lounge by the seats with your delectable treat. You can get a dole whip float, boozy treat, or just get your traditional dole whip in a cup or cone and in various flavors. We opted for the traditional pineapple dole whip in a cup for less mess. It's just like getting dole whip from the Dole Plantation in Oahu or at Disneyland; just the difference is the location. Oh it was definitely something we needed that second to last day on our Disney World trip in mid-March before the COVID-19 pandemic shut the world down. You can pay with cash, card, disney dining snack credit, or even putting it on your room tab if you're staying at the resort. If you're planning your next trip, consider bookmarking the Pineapple Lanai for when you wanna grab some dole whip outside of the parks. read more

The workers are always friendly and the servings are the perfect size. On my last visit, they had just started serving the lime flavored Dole whip at this spot. I got it to try it out and wow is it tart. I will probably be sticking with my usual pineapple flavor. There is seating outside but my pro tip is to get it and go sit in the lobby for comfy seats and air conditioning. read more

4 stars, "I'm a fan." Who is not a fan of the Pineapple Soft Serve? This cult favorite soft serve can be found outside the Magic Kingdom Park at this Polynesian Resort location. The cast members give a themed, "aloha," greeting and open to giving large sample portions. Being outdoors, makes for a nice hangout spot. read more

If you've ever been to Hawaii and visited the dole pineapple plantation and visit finest and crave this dole whip goodness without going into the part this is the spot to go. The moment I visit Disney I look forward to coming her when I'm staying on property or take a bus from another Disney property. The dole whip ice cream or float which ever you get is delicious! It is a great refreshing treat after coming from the theme parks or just on a regular hot day in Disney! The service is fast and worth the time to go. I really didn't take notice to see if Pineapple Lanai sells anything other than Dole Whips, but really, does it matter?! Once you've had Dole Whip, you know that it's pretty much IT. I ordered a Dole Whip swirl for my kids to split and I, of course, got the adult version with a shot of rum. We only had one person in line in front of us. I decided to turn around while I ordered and noticed a HUGE line behind me. We totally lucked out. Seriously though - I'm a little embarrassed to say I didn't know this existed but now that I know, watch out. Dole Whips all the time! read more

We had reservation at 'Ohana' in the Polynesia Resort. After our brunch we walked around and saw the Dole whip everybody was eating! It looked delicious on this spring weather. It was so refreshing. For a perfect ending to our Disney trip we decided to take the monorail from Magic Kingdom over to the Polynesian to get some Dole Whip. It was a little cold for an early March night but oh so worth it. I wish I could get this stuff everywhere! The Pineapple Lanai is a little hidden counter at the back of the Great Ceremonial House at Disney's Polynesian resort, where you can get your Dole Whip fix without the frustratingly long lines at Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom. But, they don't open until noon, which I learned the hard way when my part-mermaid daughter was swimming for her millionth hour and I was bored by the pool. So I had to embarrassingly wait at the closed window until they opened ten minutes later, like a sugar junkie waiting for their fix. The Pineapple Lanai is worth the walk if you're already around the Polynesian resort area, but I wouldn't make a trek out to it otherwise. Yeah, the lines at Aloha Isle are long, and kinda sweaty as you bake in the Florida sun like tin-foiled wrapped potatoes, it's worth it for the first few bites of Dole Whip-Vanilla Swirl. read more

I always stop here when I'm resort hopping and come in at the Polynesian. The lines are usually long but it's well worth the wait. I like the dole whip with vanilla ice cream compared to the dole whip. On occasion I'll get it with rum lol the service is always great and they let you taste it before you decide on what you want. Open late! We came for a late night Dole whip after an evening in the parks. They closed at midnight. You can order a pure Dole whip, swirl of Dole whip pineapple and vanilla or a float. I recommend the swirl, because the pineapple is quite tangy. The vanilla helps to balance the sour with sweet. read more

Exact same Dole Whip as Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom, except BETTER for the following reasons: 1) there's no line, 2) no park ticket needed, 3) serves alcohol, 4) accepts cast member discounts. Soft-serve ($4.19)-- I always recommend getting the soft-serve swirl if you're a sweet-tooth like me. It has both vanilla ice-cream and pineapple dole-whip -- perfect combination of sweet and tart. Float ($5.29)-- the pineapple juice is quite tart, definitely not for everyone, especially those who can't handle sour. Soft-serve with a shot of coconut rum -- this is a seasonal offering, and you can check if it is available from the ad board next to the cashier. It is pricey ($12 from what I remember), but you definitely cannot get this in Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom. read more

One of the biggest perks about staying at the Polynesian is having Dole Whip within reach nearly 24/7. The service here is always friendly and cheerful. They give you a nice portion as well. Not stingy at all with that fruity, creamy deliciousness. I prefer the dole whip float, because I like the variation of getting a cold beverage and eating the frozen treat at the same time. Also, if you don't have to stay here to eat here. Just hop on the monorail and ride over to the Polynesian. It's located just past the back doors of the lobby. We can't wait to stay at the Poly again and keep that Dole Whip flowing! read more

Dole Whip! We popped into Captain Cooks in the Polynesian Resort for our Dole Whip fix, only it wasn't there. We were dejected and fearful until we popped around the corner and there was Pineapple Lanai, ready to please with Dole Whip, swirl and floats. There were several tables outside, or cool down in one of the many chairs in the newly renovated Polynesian Resort lobby. Seriously, there is nothing better on a warm day at Disney than a Dole Whip break. read more

Hidden just outside of Disney's Polynesian Resort, Pineapple Lanai has your favorite Pineapple Dole Whip and the specials of the season which happened to be Lime and the exclusive Cinderella (as of Feb. 2020). Cinderella is vanilla with blue food coloring and the green is a Lime Sorbet. Would go back for sure, it's colorfulness and the beautiful tropical landscapes is a must see experience. read more

Secret location for Dole Whips. I have enjoyed at least 20 Dole Whips and have waited over an hour in the past, so it was amazing to find that Pineapple Lanai serves them and rarely has a long line. It's delicious and I often day dream about returning there just for the Dole Whip. I'd strongly recommend Pineaple Lanai to friends. read more

I can't thank Disney enough for bringing this little treat out of the park and available to those who aren't able to afford a ticket. Being able to get literally one of the tastiest and refreshing desserts ever and now easier than ever! First off, there aren't a lot of choices here. It's just like the Dole whip station at Magic Kingdom. You choose between Vanilla or Pineapple Whip and whether you want it in a cup, cone or a float. GET THE FLOAT. It's the ONLY way to eat it. My husband gets it swirled in a cup and I also feel like he's missing out :) Another great thing about having this little gem at the Polynesian is that you can enjoy the atmosphere of the resort without having to stay there. Now.... if only Universal would let you be able to get Butterbeer outside of the park :( Then life would be pretty much perfect. read more

My girlfriends loved the carrot cake and the fourgasm (4 dessert sampler). Everything was a bit expensive, but you're paying for the expensive. My one minor complaint was that we had not been there an excessive amount of time, but as we were checking out, we were informed we needed to leave because they needed our table in 5 minutes. I did not care for that. Overall, this was a really fun experience and I'm sad we had to say goodbye.

While we have been to Mango Mango before in a New Jersey location, this location provides a bit of table service (which we have not experienced prior) for dine-in which makes it a bit more intimate. The menu offers plentiful choices of sweets - from bowls with fresh fruits and ice cream, to your specialty drinks including boba. To call Mango Mango a boba shop would do it injustice, as this place truly shines as a hollistic dessert spot. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the selections. What a delightfully quirky and refreshing place. As I strolled around the nearby volcano pool, I couldn't help but feel a bit confused by the surroundings. Why was there a volcano in the middle of a resort? And what was the significance of the pool? These are the questions that were racing through my mind. But then I spotted Pineapple Lanai, and all my questions were forgotten. I was immediately drawn to the vibrant yellow sign and the sweet smell of pineapple wafting through the air. As I approached the counter, I was greeted by a friendly cast member who was eager to help me navigate the menu. And let me tell you, the star of the show was undoubtedly the Pineapple Float. This concoction of pineapple soft serve and pineapple juice was simply divine. The soft serve was creamy and indulgent, with just the right amount of sweetness. And when combined with the tangy pineapple juice, it was a match made in heaven. But that's not all Pineapple Lanai has to offer. The Dole Whip, a classic Disney treat, is also available in a variety of flavors, including raspberry and orange. And for those looking for a more substantial snack, the pineapple upside-down cake is a must-try. But what really stood out to me was the atmosphere. The outdoor seating area was bright and colorful, with tropical plants and decorations that made me feel like I was on a Hawaiian vacation. Food options are typical theme park: hamburgers, and chicken tenders. However, they do have different items such as a General Tso's bowl, Cuban sandwich and more. I personally love the General Tso's bowl, it's filling and very tasty. This location almost always offers specialty items, such as holiday treats and Star Wars themed items. It is usually a dessert and a cocktail. They are also a location for one of Disney's sauced chicken tenders which came out awhile ago. Disney created a ton of different sauced tenders around their property. Backlot has the honey buffalo which are really delicious. My wife and I have had them a few times. I do hope these stay. The restaurant has fun travel posters and a view of the pool, but it is crowded and bustling...as it is one of the more "affordable" places to eat on the property. The staff is friendly and are hopping! Servers will be bring your meal to your table and are constantly on the move refilling napkins and tidying up the drink station. The menu is limited but delicious. We had the pulled pork nachos. The nachos, pineapple, pork and cheese made a lovely combination. The serving was big enough to share.

The line wasn't too long and it gave me a chance to look over the menu which I ended up getting their Keylime whip, which is a Keylime and vanilla swirl. We also got a cookies and cream, Mickey Mouse ice cream and the staff was super friendly and it didn't take long till my Keylime swirl was ready. The flavor was the perfect balance between tartness and sweetness. They nailed the key lime ice cream and the mix of vanilla blended together beautifully. They do add graham cracker crumbs on top that did add an ice crunchy factory, but the swirl itself is delicious.

While we were lounging in pool chairs, we placed an order for food through the Disney World app. I ordered the Sunset Vegetable Wrap. The wrap had seasonal crisp vegetables mixed in a key lime vinaigrette in a spinach tortilla. The wrap came with house-seasoned kettle chips. I ordered for next arrival and it took 10 minutes before the app alerted me that my food was ready. The wrap was wonderful! It's sometimes difficult to eat vegetables while on vacation and traveling, so I felt like this had some nutritional value. The wrap was big and very filling. The chips were hot and fresh. Like its name, this food is best taken to go. Order some food and lounge by the pool!

The seating is comfy enough, nothing special but completely fine. What really stands out here is the allergy service. They chefs here seemed to be the most thoughtful out of all of the quick service restaurants we ate at on our trip (and there were a lot). There's a ton of options for dairy-free, especially if you speak to someone (which I recommend vs ordering on the app). The gochujang chicken tenders are particularly good. It was also great to sub veggies for the fries. All in all, a great food court!
