Southwest Chicken Salad, mango margarita (delish), buffalo fries... and chicken teriyaki bowl.
    April C.

Backlot express gas really stepped their game since the last time I ate there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is still fantastic and does feel like you are on the back lot of a movie set.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are lots of shady spots to sit and enjoy your meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food... really good. You can definitely still get traditional park fare... but they gave added some great and super tasty more healthy options. We had the southwest chicken salad and the chicken teriyaki bowl and they were outstanding. Definitely recommend!

Backlot Express is always a must do based on their healthy options (actual vegetables in the park) and their portion sizes (legitimately... get the kids portion... I swear it is still a portion bigger than what you need) BUT... we were here for Jollywood Nights.. and the food was even better. Best food for the holiday celebration. Burnt end Mac & Cheese with Fried Onions, Brussel Sprouts that were delightful crisped and coated, a holiday meatloaf hamburger that had a fun onion jam... AND the holiday bread pudding with dark chocolate and cherries. The staff was so accommodating. We were in, ordered, served, and seated within a few minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plus the theming is next level. Like you are legitimately at a backlot of a studio and Indiana Jones has his equipment everywhere for the next stunt.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ample tables too!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Southwest salad with crispy chicken strips and house-made dressing

Awful dining experience. Yes! This tasted as bad as it looks. The southwest chicken salad is absolutely disgusting. It had no cucumbers, avocados, or cheddar toppings, and the meat was strange- definitely not crispy chicken strips. I can't believe they serve this soggy mess. We just threw it away. The bacon cheeseburger was missing the bacon. Very disappointing meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location has both indoor and outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The cashier that took our order was very sweet.

My daughter's favorite chicken tenders in all of Central Florida. In Hollywood Studios next to Star Tours. I had the chicken bowl, very tasty, but not very filling. The blueberry slushie was yummy and for dessert we had the Star Wars cupcake. They have surprise fillings inside. Ours was red icing. Hard to find a set and slower service, place a mobile order to speed things up!

I really quick place in Disney to get a snack or light snack or meal. Self-serve drink dispensers and the fries are really good. Has indoor and outdoor seating as well. Not too terribly expensive.

Southwest Chicken Salad and Gingerbread Cheesecake

Backlot Express is located outside Indiana Jones. [[HIGHLIGHT]]With an interesting array of food items, online ordering, plenty of seating, and bathrooms right around the corner, it is always a fabulous one stop shop for us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Southwest salad with chicken really elevated a typical entree. The meat was a nice combination of dark and light pieces. It as flavorful and moist. The bed of lettuce was topped with roasted corn, tomatoes, pickled onion, and roasted pumpkin seeds. The cherry on top was the creamy and tangy jalapeño lime ranch dressing. It was really well balanced with lots of great texture. The star of the show however was the gingerbread cheesecake on a vanilla cookie with milk chocolate ganache, dulce de leche whipped cream, a gingerbread chocolate man, with a sprinkle of crispy pearls. Not only was it beautiful to behold, but the cheesecake filling was smooth and had just the right ratio of warm spices. The crust was nice and buttery with a good crunch. And I really enjoyed the contrast of the pearls for some texture. But as with all cheesecakes, it is best to share because they can get heavy on the palette after a few bites. Overall, with quick service, a unique variety of items to order from, and an idealistic location, this is one of my preferred quick stop shops at Hollywood Studios.

If you want to spend your money on a plate of white rice, terrible customer service and unhappy employees. $28 for two of these rice bowls with barely anything tofu in them and no way to order a side of tofu either

Due to technical difficulties, our reservation at Sci-Fi Drive In restaurant was canceled. So we came here, since the food never disappoints. Neither does the service. We ordered on the app, and our food was ready when we checked in. The two ladies who helped us were friendly. Husband had the bacon cheeseburger and fries. He was happy with his meal. No complaints. I had the Cuban again, and this time I got the plantains. I thoroughly enjoyed both. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is like a Hollywood back lot area, functional and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The seats are padded and the wooden tables are cleaned by efficient staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is also outside seating, at plastic looking tables and chairs. It's too hot to eat outside - 85° on 9/25/24. This is our go to lunch or dinner place for its good staff & food and reasonable prices.

I thought that the backlot express was great! I had a tofu bowl that was very flavorful and hit the spot for dinner. My family and I also split the Wookie cookie. The cookie portion of it was tasty, but I didn't love the middle cream filling as much, but I tend to not like cream desserts. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was plenty of seating in our food came out quickly after doing mobile order.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My kids had some chicken strips and they also enjoyed them as well. My husband had the chicken version of the bowl that I had and he thought it was really good. I think this is a solid option while spending a day in Hollywood Studios.

Well, usually when we are in a hurry we stop here. Today took so long, as a cast food, took about 35 min between pay and wait to pick up. Fries were good, one of the burguers we ordered with pulled pork, but it was too much, to sweet too.

Backlot Express serves up exactly what you'd expect from theme-park fare--nothing fancy, but it hits the spot when you need some reliable chicken tenders. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The themed warehouse-style setting, complete with movie props and covered seating, adds a neat nostalgic touch for classic Hollywood Studios.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's reliable and efficient--especially useful when you've got kids or need to use mobile ordering during a busy park day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The indoor dining area with air conditioning and shaded outdoor tables makes it a convenient refuge when the Florida heat gets intense.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That said, while the food is consistently okay, it's unremarkable. It doesn't feel like a culinary destination so much as a solid fallback when you're hungry and options are limited. Overall, Backlot Express is average theme-park fare--not bad, not mind-blowing--but dependable enough when you just need a quick, familiar meal without the frills.

Food was sooo good and fresh and totally hit the spot! Very needed after a great day at Disney. We ordered ahead which was totally the move and it was super fast service! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe was great and we loved it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The line here took forever just to order, and then I had to wait a bit for my food to be ready. [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, there's plenty of seating which is nice and the food was pretty good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had lots of options, including vegan options, so it's not bad for a Disney meal.

This place was an amazing spot to eat at in Disney Springs and had some of the best food I ate…read moreduring my trip in Florida. 4.5/5 We came pretty late to the establishment after a long day at the theme parks. We were staying at a Holiday Inn near Disney Springs so we decided to come here for a late dinner. One of the best decisions made here. We did a late night walk through the shopping center and landed here around 9:50 pm. It was pretty late and we worried there would be no seats but we were seated promptly. The establishment was very ambient, cozy, and well furnished. I liked the warm, glowing atmosphere of the restaurant. The server was extremely polite and took our order quite soon. We were starving after a long day but the food came out in around 20ish minutes which wasn't too bad. The serving sizes were quite huge. We didn't expect this much food for two portions. For $34 per plate, the dishes were large and came with a large helping of sides. The fried chicken was extremely crispy and juicy. They originally wanted to serve the food quickly/more fresh so they served a chicken thigh to me after on a second plate. They also forgot my substitution of Mac n cheese for mash potatoes so I got a free helping of mash which was sweet. The pickled cucumber was light and fresh which tasted great with the heavier chicken. The potatoes were a little heavy and I wish came with gravy, but still delicious. I really loved the Mac n cheese and finished that up. The chicken steak was also delicious with the grits but a little too salty. Wish they added the grits to the side for me to dip as it became a little too much at times. It was better to eat it with a side of potatoes to balance the flavor. The broccolini was sautéed perfectly and delicious, could eat a whole plate of those alone. The biscuits weren't bad but tasted better eaten with the potatoes. The food was a little heavy but so so good. We had to take half of the food to our hotel and ate it the next day for dinner as it was way too much food for one meal. Even after microwaving it, the food was just as delicious and flavorful. We spent about $80 but had so much food leftover. An expensive dinner, but everything tasted amazing. Would definitely come back if I had the chance.

I'm tempted to give this spot 3 stars, but I absolutely ADORE the retro Halloween decorations…read more I definitely got the feeling our server was disappointed we weren't spending more money, but there were only two of us. I really wanted the Seasonal Espresso Martini trio, but there is NO WAY in heck I'm shelling out $30 for 3 extremely small, mini drinks. You have got to be kidding me with that price! We actually had The Viper, Midnight Relic & The Dark Forest Dip. Our bill was nearly $60 dollars! Although the food and drinks did end up being VERY good, the prices are ridiculous, even for Disney. I like stopping in for the seasonal offerings, but as a vegetarian with a normal job, this place had lost some of its appeal for me.

At the entrance to his cave, I had to disarm several traps, including floor spikes, poison darts, and a tablet demanding a 25% tip--with no obvious option to leave no tip. Fortunately, I discovered the hidden button in the bottom-right corner, written in 8-point Times New Roman. At last, I reached the altar containing the legendary treasure chest. When I opened it, I found a shirt that read, "I'd Rather Be at Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar," along with flyers for the Halloween and Christmas events. That discovery led me to this wonderfully themed bar. This is a double review covering both the Halloween and Christmas events. These events used to be relatively easy to attend, but thanks to social media influencers, they have become extremely popular. The lines can get enormous, especially from Friday through Sunday. My advice is to visit Tuesday through Thursday and arrive early. The food was great, and the presentation--especially for the Halloween offerings--was fantastic and definitely Instagram-worthy. The specialty drinks were delicious and surprisingly strong for a Disney restaurant, although they do come with the expected Disney price tag. I've also visited when the bar wasn't decorated for a holiday, and it was still a great time. The regular food offerings are just as good, and the portions are fairly generous. The standard drinks are also perfectly enjoyable. If the weather isn't too hot, I recommend sitting outside by the lake. You'll have a beautiful view of the boats passing by, and the scenery around sunset is incredible. A fantastic spot for food, drinks, atmosphere, and the occasional archaeological revelation.

After ordering, we were shown to our table and luckily there were enough seats for our whole family because the place was pretty busy. We went with the Butcher Board and got the street corn and sweet tots for our sides. The pulled pork, prime brisket, and smoked chicken were all cooked really well. I thought the meat could have used a little more seasoning, but they have a self-serve BBQ sauce station with different sauces, so we tried a few of those and they definitely helped add some extra flavor. For our meal, we ordered: Ribs - They had a rich smoky flavor with a perfectly seasoned dry rub, and the barbecue sauce added just the right amount of sweetness and tang. Brisket - The brisket was cooked perfectly with a flavorful bark on the outside and a moist, tender center. Every bite was packed with smoky goodness and melted in your mouth. Sliced Turkey - The sliced turkey was surprisingly moist and full of flavor. It had a light smoky taste and was anything but dry, making it an excellent choice alongside the other meats. The last time I visited, I was already inside, stepped out briefly to make a phone call, and was refused re-entry while several men walked right in without issue. Still one of the most bizarre customer service experiences I've ever had. It's impressive how one employee can make people swear they'll never come back. Nothing says "great security staff" like refusing re-entry to a woman who was already inside while continuing to wave men through the door. Absolute 0/10.
