We got pork cutlet (sorry don't know Korean name), 4 banchan, and strawberry soju. All were very good. We like to go to Sura in Long Beach, but much longer wait there since it's busy. They have a little plastic QR code smaller than a coaster on the table for you to get the menu on your phone. There's the typical button for service you find in authentic Korean restaurants. If you want old style Pocha, this place is for you! Coming in here you see that this place is pretty dark like you do not know if it is open or not. However coming in is definitely like a regular pocha type of vibe. They also have rooms with pre-paid Karaoke! The Lady there is also very nice! Kimchi Fried Rice- my friends loved it! I gotta say I would have never walked into this place on my own but other bar's wait time was 45 minutes and it was 10:30pm on Friday night. My two non-Korean friends found this place on Yelp and knowing I'm fluent in Korean decided to make a trip to this place. The place had 1980's Korea vibe as if time had stopped and never moved on after the 80's. Not fancy but very at home. Next to our table was Karaoke room where 5 young Korean boys were singing various Kpop and Pop songs at the top of their lungs. The beer menu said it was draft but it was actually a $3 Cass bottle you can buy at a Korean market. We ordered Beer, Soju, Yogurt Soju, Kimchi Jeon (Kimchi pancake), and Fried Chicken. Kimchi Jeon (Kimchi pancake) was fluffy and had a texture which reminded me of Okonomiyaki. I prefer crispy but it was still good. Simple but good. Fried Chicken was something that reminded me of home cooking when I was in Elementary school and 'mom made fried chicken at home' kind of batter. The little twist is that there is a clove of garlic here and there within the fried chicken which adds nice garlic flavors to it. I went to pine tree with my friends last night and it was such a great experience! It was my first time there although my friends go there often, so i had high expectations from what they always told me. The inside is very cozy and it feels homey. its dimly lit with yellow lights and each table has its own lamp hanging from the top. it looked like it had been there for a long time, longer than 10 years forsure. my friends and i ordered 2 pitchers of blue moon and a bottle of cham fresh soju. the owner/worker was a really nice korean lady, and she brought us popcorn and orange slices w our drinks. the popcorn and orange slices are refillable and free. when we got the drunchies, we ordered the french fries, the french fries were kind of disappointing but we didnt expect much bc it WAS bar food... but i just didnt really like the ketchup and ranch it came with. the ranch was more mayo-y than ranch-y and the ketchup was really sour.. idk why but it was... nonetheless, the french fries were good by themselves. We also ordered ramen because my drunchies were unsatisfied... the ramen was super tasty!!! the soup base to water ratio was perfect and the egg was cooked perfdctly too! DRUNCHIES WERE SATISFIED!!! the other thing i really liked ablut pine tree was that all the other workers there were younger adults. so they were super chill and nice, also very attentive. constantly checking up on us and making sure we had everything. they were very nice. So glad this place closes late, especially on a Sunday. Every Korean place I go to I always want to try their spicy rice cake (my favorite dish). Hands down, Pine Tree has the best yet! And it's not an overwhelming amount where you can't try out the other dishes. My boyfriend who's Korean and I shared the dish and we also ordered the egg pizza which came with bulgogi. I was craving pizza with bread and was surprised to realize that it was just egg, which made sense by the name haha. We both loved it! The texture and taste was so good. My boyfriend wanted to order everything off of the menu because it all sounded so good to him. We'll definitely be back to try everything. read more

Came here because a few of my friends invited me and I wasn't familiar with the location but it was a nice pub. They sell mostly Korean based food and alcohol but in our case thats all we needed. Food was delicious and the alcohol is cheap compared to other locations. Great place to come if youre trying to drink and eat. read more

Sunday night. 1st time visit impression. Walking in, the place looks like it has an identity crisis, nothing about the decor makes you think that you are in a Korean restaurant and it all looks run down and awkward. There are only two other patrons in the place (alarms going off) but we are starving so decide to give it a shot anyways. We sit down in what appears to be a hand me down booth from the 70s next to a painting of a Paris street scene. Our waitress, brings us traditional Korean banchan (popcorn) and the menus. Does not ask if we want anything to drink and walks away. When the waitress comes back I ask for bulgogi, and Im told there is no bulgogi or kalbi! Im confused, since its on the menu, what kind of Korean restaurant doesnt have that available!? Thats like the equivalent of going to a Mexican place and them telling you they ran out of tacos! At this point we want to play it safe so we order the fried chicken. It comes paired with a the most basic salad i've ever been served at a restaurant, its literally just some sliced lettuce with thousand island dressing on top (again the Korean theme here is thick). The chicken has been chopped at random and fried. The only discernible pieces are the legs, every other piece is a question mark. The chicken tastes ok, nothing to write home about or make you feel like you have to come back for it. We finish eating, pay and thus ends our Korean dining experience. read more

Great Korean food/bar experience. Though the exterior may look shabby, the inside is great, with great HD televisions for sports and even 2 rooms for karaoke. Food is great. Pine tree!!! A friend if mine has been working here since they opened so I stop by from time to time for late night drinks and food. From the outside and its neighboring stores it looks a bit sketchy but it's a nice, clean, chill place with friendly waiters/waitresses! It's pretty big inside and I don't think I've ever seen it super packed even on the weekends so it's a good place for groups too. They have your typical Korean beer, soju and such along with Newcastle and Coors Light on tap. I think they've been having soju specials for weeknights lately with soju for $7.99 so that's something to look out for too. Food here is pretty good. I don't think I've had anything I didn't like.. So far my favorite is their deep fried dak ttong jip! It sounds a bit crazy but it's suuuper good. Their chicken is always good too. They also have a kareoke area but I'm not exactly sure how that works.. But all in all, Pine Tree is good food, good selection of drinks, and not overcrowded with a bunch of kids so it gets five stars from me! read more
