Had another hiccup, same as last year, trying to redeem my $5 birthday month dining credit. Walking in, I sat at the bar, and let the employee know I possess the promo. She said she's never handled that before, since she recently relocated from Temecula to Long Beach. But, she would ring it up, afterwards. Already red flags started to pop up, with visions of last year's issues floating in my head, so I asked if I could use the promo on a beer, which she replied in the affirmative. Ordering a pint of Blue Moon, I quenched my thirst on a hot August day, and that's when things turned sour. Upon trying to redeem the dining credit via Toast Local app, the beer was denied several times. I asked if my beer could be comped, and told she couldn't. She should have, because it was her mistake, but she did not. I then asked if perhaps the promo isn't valid for beer, and she said that might be the case. So, I decided to order a $5 carne asada taco. Carne asada taco- Tough, old, not hot. The carne asada taco was a terrible excuse for a street taco. Not even worth half the $5 price tag. No bueno. Upon redeeming the promo via Toast Local app for my taco, I was again met with several denials. Porque? What can I redeem the promo on? The employee again explained she was new, and unaccustomed to the birthday redemption. She then took pics of my Toast Local account number & QR code. Paying the $5 plus tax, I was ready to be on my way. Second year, I'm out. Again, I had issues redeeming my birthday month promo, and I've had my fill of Alas Toxicas. I should've been comped for the pint of Blue Moon, seeing how it was no fault of my own the employee didn't know how to input things. With that, and a subpar facsimile of a carne asada taco, I have no plans on returning. read more

We came here for lunch cause my husband saw their Chili Cheese Pastrami pizza on IG and he was dying to try it. I didn't know where we were going, so I was surprised to see this was a sports bar with a huge menu that has way more than pizza. We took a seat and the waitress was over quickly to take our orders, he went with what he came for, I had a Supreme pizza. We both got the personal 8" sizes, with his coming in at almost $20, and mine only being $12. I was BEYOND starving so after we ordered my husband got up and asked for an order of chips and salsa. Well, that never arrived. After 30 minutes she brought our pizzas and said the chips & salsa were coming next, I told her to forget it. I'm not sure why she thought we wanted it after our pizzas? Oh well. Pizzas were good! Mine was a typical supreme pizza with LOADS of cheese, tasty marinara, mushrooms, onions, olives, bell peppers, fresh tomatoes and a small amount of sausage and pepperoni. It's a very veggie forward pizza, which I was fine with. I was full after two slices. I thought his pizza would be super heavy, but is was not! The base was chili that tasted a LOT like Tommy's, so we were happy with it. There is a layer of cheddar cheese, some pastrami, and lots of pickles. I picked up on the chili flavor more than anything. Lunch was $40 for the two pizzas, a beer, and an iced tea. If we lived closer I am sure we would have them again, but it wasn't great enough to make a trip out to Cerritos again. read more

So happy I decided to go here for my lunch break as not only was the service amazing the ambience was everything , it was very clean and I love the artwork and how it has tvs all around the restaurant, there is plenty of seating immediately walking in I was greeted by Norma which was such a beautiful soul ! Very tentative and helpful. The food not only was delicious, but definitely a nice sized portion where you should be able to share depending on how much you eat. I was definitely able to bring leftovers home.. originally I came for the pastrami chili cheese pizza. I got the personal size and every bite was worth it very cheesy. You can taste all the flavors down to the chili sauce. I also ordered their queso birria tacos also full of flavor, nice size the right amount of meat and cheese. Everything portioned out perfectly at last, but not least shout out to the Chef for the comp giant mozzarella steak with an insane incredible cheesy pull ! There's so many other items on the menu. The music playing here is like soft rock in Spanish. I might catch a word now and then but the melody is very nice and it's very pleasant to listen to. Chili cheese pastrami is sublime, I'll die on this hill! :P Picked up some chicken clubs and a chicken strip meal for the fam, and an order of chili cheese pastrami fries for myself! Me and my wife ate here yesterday 5/1. I was craving wings and this was the closest spot to the mall. We got greeted sat down and they gave us menus. Took about 15mins for them to take our order. I was already looking around for another wing spot cause it was taking to long. I guess they noticed us getting bothered so finally someone comes to take our order. We ordered at 7:23pm and we didnt get our food till 8:03pm. The wait time was ridiculous. Tried this place for a quick girls night and catch up. It's a small location, but we were greeted and the waitress was chatty and made a laugh. There was a DJ playing music and karaoke going too, if you're into that! The girls and I all got wings and fries. We tried mild buffalo, lemon pepper wet, mango habanero, and the street garlic. I've come here a few times already, once for their Friday night karaoke which was super fun, and a couple of times for their weekly promotions ($1 wings, etc). I love this spot so much, it's close to my place, family-owned, and the workers are always so very nice and accommodating. The food itself is very good, they're always highlighting different menu items on their social media, and the food we've had delivered on our cravings. I live only 2 miles away from this establishment and today was my first time dining here and I'm mad at myself for not coming sooner. From the moment I walked in, the place was super clean, lots of tv showing all kinds of sports, awesome mural on the wall of all the LA sports teams, and service from Norma was great. We asked Norma for some suggestions so we went with a mixture of things off the menu. Wings, DUI fries, quesabirria tacos, and a Tóxica chicken sandwich. Portions were very proper! I honestly can't believe this place doesn't have a line out the door: everyone is sleeping on Alas Toxicas. The staff is so friendly I'm happy I live around the corner. Pretty cool new place in town. Seems kinda like a crossroads between bar food and Mexican food, which I am all here for. When you first walk in the place the first thing you'll notice is how open the floor plan is, the gigantic Kobe painting is very nice as well and they made sure to have little paintings of the local sports teams too, Dodgers, Angels etc. however it does feel with the liveliness of the painting and the menu that something is missing decor wise to make it feel more lively. Food: we got the carne asada pizza and the papa toxicas. Both were good, the quality of the carne asada pizza was what stood out to me, it had a strong lime flavor to it that I wish I coulda controlled a bit more but overall a great pizza. The papa toxicas, I wish was better explained in the menu, it says, "potato skins" which I was anticipating to be like Fridays potato skins, but as you can see in the picture, they're essentially super fries. So I saw a video about this huge mozzarella stick and I thought I'd come by and try it with my friends. I was very impressed by the service. The girls were very attentive and very informative of their menu when we had questions. When they brought out the mozzarella stick and the pizza, it was one of the best crusts I've ever had. Food was packaged incorrectly, luckily this order was for family so it wasn't a problem to fix, but it is the first time I've experienced this. I came here with my girlfriend this week for our first time and we were excited we came on taco Tuesday!!! Their tacos are SO FREAKIN BOMB, DUDE! $2 tacos de al pastor y carne asada and they were super generous with the meat inside. Also, I find it hard to find a place with a solid red and green salsa, and this place nailed em both. They have taco Tuesday and Thursday, so be sure to stop by. By some magical coincidence, we also arrived during happy hour, so we got $5 beers on draft and we also split the appetizer sampler - we chose honey bbq wings, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and potato skins. All the portions are insane, everything was super good, but the potato skins seemed like they may have needed some seasoning. The service was incredible and we really enjoyed our first visit. Try the classic burger with pastrami. The buttery bun is a bit sweet, but it compliments well with all the fixings. The fries need some help. You can tell these are frozen fries that have been in and out the freezer. It has that weird after taste. If you can, try subbing your fries for Onion rings. Try mixing the spicy ranch with some bbq sauce and ranch. They do charger extra for sauces. You get your sports, you get karaoke on Fridays. The food is okay. I'll be back, but I'll definitely be more aware of drink prices. I feel like my server could have been more attentive to me, but I understand that I was the only person dining solo tonight.
