There are items built into the wall, it's like a hobbit house. Inside there are such lovely, crafted items. When you walk in there is a lot of iron items on the walls like hooks and cute hanging bats (which I will have to get some day soon). I love the pottery all over the first floor too. The stained glass that is part of the building is beautiful. The person at the counter is really nice. Lovely lovely gifts available here. Jewlery, cards, and more.

The first floor of the museum gave so much mining history and lots of information on minerals from Maine. The second floor has more minerals and gems on display, and has space rocks to check out. It took us about an hour to do the whole museum. Outside of the museum sections, they have a discovery room that is free to check out with drawers full of gems and minerals from all the world. They also have a fantastic gift shop with lots of different gems and minerals. Also don't forget to check outside the museum where they have even more minerals on display!

And the collection inside is equally enchanting. High quality stuff, reasonably priced, and expertly staged by its proprietor. Certainly a beautiful piece of real estate to artfully feature gems from the past.

I grew up visiting Norway once my grandparents moved up from South Berwick, and when I eventually…read moremoved to South Paris I often frequented the downtown here. There used to be a little shop called Picalilly which had great little gifts and cool items, but they long since closed. It has been over six years since I lived in the area, and while visiting for what was unfortunately my grandfather's funeral I decided to visit the old downtown again. We popped into this shop and I was so happy to see another gift shop in the area like this. While this is more mainstream than mystical, there are some really good finds here. We didn't have too much to spend but I found some adorably funny shirts in back and they happened to be on sale for $3 each. I bought two and the lady behind the counter (who told me they'd been there about five years, but most townspeople tend to not even realize they are there) threw in a hilarious Moose calendar with our purchase. We had a nice little chat, and I later told all my family (from the area and afar) about the place. Even friends whom I knew passed through the area from time to time. Great little shop, especially for the customer service and friendliness of those there. :) Already have their calendar on the wall!
