We visit Jim Thorpe annually and were excited to try this place given its vegan options. When we entered the restaurant, the set-up was a little confusing. They did seat us pretty quickly though, and the service was probably the only positive to this experience. My husband and I both ordered cocktails; he had the Manhattan while I had a special vodka drink they were offering that day. Our drinks were overall fine but not anything special. My husband's Manhattan was very basic tasting. The menu and the food were the worst parts. The menu is unnecessarily long and phony sounding, like they are trying to be quirky but just come across as fake and condescending. There's extra, unnecessary description of the food that makes the menu difficult and frankly annoying to review. We ordered the bread teaser as well as the hummus. The pesto and the hummus were basic store level quality. The bread was definitely undercooked. For our entrees, we ordered the Cleopatra salad and a pasta dish. The salad tasted fine enough but it was basically just romaine lettuce with a very light dusting of nutritional yeast, vegan cheese, and a very low amount of chickpeas/protein. The pasta was an absolute travesty. It was extremely oily, flavorless, and bland. To top it all off, the food is extremely expensive! They have absolutely no business charging that much. The interior of the place is also a waste of space. It doesn't make any sense that it calls itself a pub. There's also stupid decor everywhere, including a sign that says "no" leading out to an employee-only location. I guess that's supposed to be funny but just comes across as condescending. It's a shame that this place has such a good location with Jim Thorpe and apparently can make a pretty penny serving subpar food and weird vibes. Don't waste your money.

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

It was packed when I arrived, so I expected a wait, but it ended up being a bit longer than I hoped. They seemed a little understaffed for the season, though the staff that were there were super friendly and doing their best to keep things moving. Outdoor seating was really nice. Breezy, shaded, and a good spot to rest your feet after being out all day. Indoors is small but cozy in that old-town way. A lot of people stop here because there's a restroom, so there's constant movement, but even with all the traffic the place stayed clean and the staff stayed kind. The food was solid. I ordered the stew and it was exactly the kind of hearty dish I wanted. Rich gravy, tender meat, and it was served over mashed potatoes that soaked everything up in the best way. Comfort food without being heavy in a bad way. Portions were medium but fair for the price. It did take a long time to get my box and check at the end, but considering how busy they were it made sense. Overall, it's a nice spot in a charming little town and a good place to take a break while exploring all the autumn-vibe streets around it.

I've been to this restaurant numerous times, but it was my first time trying steak night this past Thursday my husbands brother was in town so we thought we would take him to the Mckeansburg Hotel. He was there in the past and ordered scallops. I couldn't stop talking about how delicious they were. We opted to sit at the bar and got prompt and friendly service from the owner bartender, Kevin and our server and I'm very sorry. I did not recall her name but she gave very good service and I know that she was extremely busy even being so busy, she was very efficient and polite . I opted to get the strip steak. It is 9 ounces and I ordered it medium in addition to the strip steak. You also get a soup or salad +2 side dishes and homemade fresh baked bread. I heard through the grapevine that the owner comes in at 3 AM and bakes the bread for the restaurant . It has a very pleasant oniony savory flavor. My steak was cooked to perfection and was only $12.95. My brother-in-law law ordered a steak that had onions and mushrooms and my husband ordered the steak with Cajun seasoning. I believe in a blue cheese crown that he absolutely loved. I think those steaks may have been a couple dollars extra but still the price was phenomenal. I would highly recommend steak night. You should consider making a reservation if you want to sit in the dining room all the board tables were already reserved when we arrived, but luckily we were able to find three seats at the bar, but we also went very early. The Mckeansburg is a charming restaurant in the beautiful countryside and it is a well run business most of the times when I go to Mckeansburg, I tend to order the thin sliced roast beef french dip with their delicious creamy horseradish sauce, but for the same price I could have steak on steak night, so I had to try it! It is their specialty and did not disappoint!! I can see what all the excitement is about. I'll be back to this quaint lovely hotel restaurant soon. It's so homey and inviting. The food and prices can't be beat!

I ordered shrimp and scallop hibachi and it was incredibly oily and greasy, and the portion of shrimp and scallops was tiny. My friend also got hibachi and felt the same way. My salad was watery, and the clear mushroom soup tasted very strange. I couldn't take more than a bite of either the soup or the salad. For my entree, asked the server if I could please have extra vegetables instead of noodles, and she said that there was a "language barrier" in the kitchen, so she didn't want to ask that. I thought that was an odd comment for her to make. My daughter ordered some sushi rolls and liked them, and my husband and our friend also liked their sushi; so maybe sushi is a better choice here. The place is small and to echo other reviewers, tables are very crammed together and you will bump in to other people just by moving around. The place is cool looking on the inside and outside, definitely an interesting vibe, and they have a full bar. We did have to ask multiple times about the status of our beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). My drink was not good, it was a sake/lemon drop hybrid type of thing and it was insanely sweet - I couldn't finish it.
