Wabash - 4/5/23 wing night at The Wabash! 75 cents each- big and well done like I asked for!

Was offered samples of two tap beers and one line was vinegary, meaning not a clean tap line. Had an okay visit with room for lots of improvement, I love my dive bars too.

The music was playing vintage 1970's songs and it was a great atmosphere. I finally got a chance to try the food and I ordered a 3$ cheeseburger. I wasn't expecting much for 3 dollars -but- I was wrong! The Wabash burgers tasted very homemade and looked hand formed. Sorry!! No picture because it was that damned tasty! I like how the burger was served too- wrapped in checkered paper. By the way?! 2 dollar burgers and 3 dollar cheeseburgers ala cart is not a special folks, it's an every day price! We met the owner, Dave and were chatting because we have been in the business ourselves. The owner has the right idea! Keep it simple- keep it tasty- keep it affordable. I would definitely go back and I plan to bring my family in when they come to visit. Also interesting- per Dave- this has operated as a bar since 1920 and that's pretty impressive. Husband had 3 beers- I had two cranberry and club sodas- we had two orders of wings and two burgers at an astounding price of just shy of 25$. Mind Blowing!! In the summer there will be outdoor dining and live music on the patio. Plus there's always lots of ample parking!

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

Mike our server, was very friendly, attentive and efficient. He has a great personality and is a single dad and a hard worker. My husband and I have a particular affinity for hard-working servers as we used to be them. We used to be the ones giving up all of our holidays to wait on others, but now we're finally benefitting from the fruits of our efforts and enjoying restaurants on holidays as customers & not servers. We both opted to get the Filet Oscar! First though was The Ststion salad with mandarins, strawberries, slivered almonds on spring mix with mango dressing. We enjoyed it so much. The chunks of sweet highest quality crab meat over perfectly cooked 8 ounce filet, Medium, was as good as it gets. The hollandaise sauce was the best I've ever had- rich, tasty and I could taste the lemon in it too- I loved it! We also got dessert! The towering chocolate cake and cream puff! I cannot wait to enjoy my leftovers! The Station has always done wonderful holidays. Valentines is no exception with tables bedecked with lovely flowers and glittery heart in a mini vase. The restaurant also provided a beautiful long stemmed rose. John and Mel run a great business and we are very happy to support them and this wonderful business. Awesome all around!

We arrived a little ahead of time but were greeted and seated. We had a group of 4 and we ordered our drinks first they have a full bar and do run speciality drinks like my wife's choice of a Blue Christmas Martini the others at the table ordered wines and beer. Our server Steve is one of the most professional waitpersons we have ever had the privilege of having serve our table of 4. My wife & BIL ordered the OSCAR* with the Charbroiled Salmon topped with Lump Crab & Asparagus and topped finished with a Hollandaise Sauce. My SIL ordered the Crab Cakes these Chef made speciality are loaded with lump crab. I o decided on the Faroe Island Salmon grilled Faroe Island Salmon finished with a Strawberry Glaze and topped with toasted almonds. I found this combination uniquely flavored and I paired it with a Pino Grigio.
