Surprised my boyfriend with a tee time here over Memorial Day Weekend. The course was impeccably taken care of and the course marshal was very polite when we were stuck behind a slow group. Only downside is no drink cart and some of the houses feel like they're on the fairways. Otherwise there is a snack shack for drinks. Overall great place! read more

This course is a hidden gem. Driving into town, you would never think that there could be such a course. Then you see the first hole, and wow, you know you're in for a good day. The course is very playable for all skill levels and the scenery in the mountains is fantastic! I will be back for many years to come. read more

Getting there: Located right off the 120, if turn on one of the only stop signs in town you will reach the entrance. Once you register with the front gate, you will need another address to get to your location. Experience: We stayed at an airbnb located in this community. The community is made up of cabins, condos, lodging, apartments, etc...of all sizes. I didn't realize actually how big it was until I looked at the map that our host provided us. We stayed in a small 2 bedroom condo located right on the golf course. It was really cool being able to wake up and walk right out on the course (even though we didn't play golf). I would 1000% stay there again. read more

Pine Mountain offers not only an exceptional dining experience, but views which are among the best to be found in the Sierra's. It's not on the main highway, but for food and views like this a short drive is well worth it. The menu offers a full range of dishes, with entrees that include fish, chicken and steaks. Their prices are quite reasonable if you consider the exceptional quality of all their food. As eating without drinking isn't quite as much fun, there's a full bar that serves cocktails, wine, and beer. The bar prices are actually better than most restaurants with comparable quality food. If you're passing through Groveland for whatever reason, and you want an exceptional dining experience, stopping here would be an excellent choice! read more

A very under rated place. They dumped a lot of Money into this place to revamp it and it was well spent for The long term. Their kitchen is wide open with beautiful slats of glass. An amazing mural of Yosemite valley and the best prices in high quality food. I was in Palm Springs and got the same plate here for a third of the price!!! (Tomahawk steak) read more

We booked our tee time for Wednesday 9:43am. We were staying at the condos right at the 10th tee. They somehow canceled our tee time and then refused to make it right. After they knew they were wrong they refused to allow our son to play. Even though he had his own clubs. Was in golf attire and would pick up and play from where we shot from. Terribly unprofessional!!! Don't waste your time or money here. They can't even keep there tee times straight!!! read more

A long awaited review for myself only because they had been renovating the grill for some time now. Let me start with the service. Everyone was attentive, and knowledgeable on the menu and bar. If you want a reasonable price drink with no skimped alcohol they have it. The appetizer we got was the ahi tuna, which was packed with unique flavors that blended well together. Now for our plates. My boyfriends dad got the prime rib 10 oz (former butcher) he gave it all a solid 8. Not quite the best he's ever had but still memorable. As for me I got the ribs and the potatoes and ribs were delicious the coleslaw was not up to par, being that i love coleslaw i feel that it lacked flavor but overall i give it an 8. My boyfriend go the salmon, he said "I regret sharing it" he loved the Thai chili sauce and he gave it an 8 as well. The location is nowhere near most restaurants so i would say this is a must go to place for family and friends this summer and summers to come. read more

A great resort course that is challenging yet fun to play, and with a gorgeous back drop of oak and pine trees, and the mountains. Located at 2,800 feet above sea level, the ball does go a bit further on this 6,400 yard course, from the Championship tees. This course is located inside a gated community, so either you need to be a homeowner or guest of a homeowner to play here. You can also play here if you rent one of the homes in the community. There is a practice range to warm up, and a pretty decent clubhouse to have a drink after your round of golf. This is a great place to stay if you want to spend a day in Yosemite (about 1.5 hours to the valley floor), yet don't want to stay there. Pine Mountain Lake also offers fishing, boating and water sports. read more

We love Pine Mountain Lake. We originally rented a home here for the weekend after a neighbor recommended it and have been back several times since. The lake, even in the midst of a severe drought, was beautiful and clean. The water was relatively warm and comfortable. The beach was great and the kids really enjoyed digging in the sand, floating in the water and swimming out to the diving platform. Holiday weekends do get busy, but there were still plenty of places to set up camp on the beach. They also have a large lawn area in the marina with picnic tables and BBQs. We saw the bald eagle flying around and over Labor Day weekend, they had an air show, which you could see from the marina beach. Cell and Internet seems to be spotty, but it was kind of nice to be able to turn it all off and enjoy the time at the lake with the kids. We also spent a day in Yosemite and visited Tenaya Lake, Tuolumne Grove and Tuolumne Meadows. It was an easy drive from Pine Mountain Lake. I highly recommend staying here and it is a nice choice as a home base for Yosemite. read more

My review is for the golf course and Bar/restaurant. We just completed our 5th annual golf tournament at PML. Doug and Mike run a great event for us and we are happy to able to play there. 32 guys both days and not one bad word from our group. Very nice gated community. We own a vacation home there and spend as many nights as possible up there. The lake and pool are wonderful during the summer. The cool and quiet winter time is my favorite though. Less than an hour from the Yosemite national park valley floor visitors center. read more

We had dinner here while visiting Yosemite, and the food was fabulous! I would highly recommend eating here! I had 1/2 size portion of rack of lamb, and my husband had steak. Been coming here for over 20 years. The place is a great get away from the bay area. The people in town are amazing. Every shop, every eatery, nice helpful people. The lake is beautiful and serene early in the morning. The beach is amazing for kids and families with so much to do. You can rent water craft (kayaks, sail boats, paddle boats, paddle boards etc), play volleyball, swim out to the dock or water weenie (this year with the drought it wasn't there however). This place is a gem! The lake is super clean and has a ton of amenities (pool, Snack bar, awesome restaurant, etc) and reasonably priced! The town of groveland is fun with friendly locals (and California's first saloon.) A great getaway for Bay Area residents, we will be returning. read more

The country club has a restaurant with free wifi, open daily for lunch but only thurs-sunday for dinners I believe. Great happy hour specials in the bar. Though Pine Mountain Lake is a private HOA, the golf course and restaurant are open to the public! Tee price is slightly higher for non-members but is still very reasonable and its a great course with spectacular views! read more

Personally my experience at the grill was horrible. The food took 45 minutes to come out and when it finally did my chicken was burnt. Every time I needed a refill on my drink there was no one to refill so I had to ask the lady at the bar. Overall my experience was bad the only good part were the French fries and ranch. I don't recommend the grill. read more

Pine Mountain Lake is a beautiful community to visit. Do not buy land there. The HOA dues are outrageous. It doesn't matter if you buy land without a home on it, the dues to the HOA must still be paid or they will take back the land that you own in full. The idea of an HOA is to maintain certain things in the community like roads and community safety. Like most of the real estate in or near the Sierra Mountains it sits vacant because greedy owners would rather see it ready for demolition than reasonably priced. These days it's not enough to own your land outright. We don't really own anything if an HOA can take it away and all the money that we invested. They are entitled to collect money on land that has no house, or building on it. They even have the power to take our land away and all the money we invested if we don't pay them. read more

My experience was not a good one. We were unable to use the beach on the weekend because we were renting we were not even able to drop people off or pick them up because we were not property owners we had to walk almost a mile from a isolated parking . In order to get in the water one has to face knee deep in mud! The staff was very friendly to renters $2000 for the weekend not a good deal! read more

This review is for the golf course. My husband and I were driving through Groveland and stopped for breakfast here. We sat outside facing the golf course and decided we wanted to play nine holes before hitting the road again. We went into the pro shop just after 9 am and asked about playing 9 holes. It's important to know that we were not in our golf clothes and had every intention, as advanced gofers (both of us have a less than ten handicap,) to change into golf clothing before teeing off. The man at the desk, Dave, took one look at us, asked what we wanted, and then immediately said "I don't have any tee times until noon today." We did not see a single golfer on the course while eating and saw only two golfers between the pro shop, first tee, practice facility, and parking lot. While my husband was talking to Dave, he never even looked at his computer. He just stared at my husband. We just took a second and said "ok!" and headed out and Dave said "well, do you want it or not?" His tone was rude, dismissive, cold, and judgmental. It was clear that he didn't want our business. There are several ways that Dave could have handled the situation differently and better, even just by politely saying there is a dress code. We would have felt better about the experience if he had done just about anything other than the way he acted towards us. read more
