Food and service are excellent. Very little turn around with servers which says a lot about this establishment. Owners are friendly and present and make a point to greet their customers. I have to say, The Pine Inn staff & kitchen really care about their customers. Busy, kind folks that care about your happiness. Beers always full & good food coming out of the kitchen. Had the walleye sandwich the other night which was very good. Fish was good but what stood out was the bun. A soft ciabatta bun, buttered. Usually I do t want my fish sandwich buttered but it was good. Crispy tater tots & fries were very good. Dining room was cut back to half capacity so had to sit in the bar. But it was a fun crowd ;) I'll be back. read more

Had the Sunday special - chicken dinner - fabulous and 3 pieces of white meat is 2 breasts and 1 wing - awesome! Now for the rest - coleslaw is good - bun is delicious. The mashed potatoes and gravy were awful - potatoes had only a garlic (yuck) flavor not a good taste at all - gravy tasted like cream of chicken soup! Green beans pretty sure poured right out of the can and heated - not good at all. read more

Great local atmosphere. Salad bar was great, the soup (beef & rice) smelled GREAT. Disappointed I didn't try it. Lot of beer choices. You'll get faster drink service if you sit at the bar. Though BBQ ribs and chicken were the nightly special, the 1/3 lb cheese burger and waffle fries were calling our name! The waffle fires were AMAZING! And our burgers were cooked to perfection, and served by Glenn (the owner). It's nice to hear our business was appreciated. Having heard so many good things about the ribs, kinda wish I'd have tried them. Definitely trying them next time. If you get the opportunity definitely give The Pine a try! read more

The only things that are worth eating here are the salad bar and the soups. The rest of food isn't very good.

I had the fish fry special, narrow strips of rubbery cod came with a mound of ghastly cole slaw, I added the salad bar which came to $16.95, waste of money! The food was horrible and the service even worse. The place is disorganized and run down. If you want to have a nice dinner, avoid the Pine Inn. If I could give it a 1/4 star I would. read more

These guys really have it figured out. roadhouse tavern and restaurant with the nest slow cooked ribs in northern Minnesota. How about a salad bar with fresh hearing and real beacon bits!,, If ribs are not your thing, the Pine Inn's boasted chicken is superb. read more

I have been there a couple of times as a kid with my family then have revisited the restaurant a couple more times as an adult. Decent food with average prices. Nothing that really popped out at me for selection choices on the menu. read more

We gave The Pine Inn one more try. Should not have. Walleye was dry and bland. I think it may have been freezer burnt. Broasted Chicken was even worse. Just can't give them anymore business. read more

Had a baby shower there this past weekend and they did a GREAT job of making us feel welcome - despite the obvious weirdness of such an event in the corner of the restaurant. Our server was excellent, having great rapport with everyone there. The food - the Sunday night special of fried chicken (plus some additional dishes which we paid extra for) served buffet style - was good, especially the chicken, which was terrific! And the prices were VERRRRY reasonable. read more
