Minor League Baseball…read more Home of fried food, cheap tickets, a racing pork roll mascot and, oh by the way, there is actual baseball going on too. I love this stuff because it's an experience. The promos, the seating choices and every now and then you actually see some good play on the field as well. Each team is a slightly different variation from the next. Our experience here was fairly basic but overall nothing surprised me. We came for a Wednesday game in mid-June and even though all of the premium seating down front was "sold out" (i.e. it's sold to season ticket holders that are rarely there so most nights the seats while sold, go empty) the overall physical attendance was maybe 2000 tops. 101-103 was completely empty the same as 113-115. The place was dead. For a backup plan I chose the firepit seating. Some good and bad here. The good is that even though you are way the heck out past the LF wall, the sightline isn't bad. Regarding the fire pit seats - I. A few of the fire pits didn't work and couldn't be lit or in the case of ours (#5) it took the better part of the top of the 1st for it to finally get going which was good since it was cool and breezy out. II. In principle you don't need tickets for these seats to sit at them. A few of the fire pits went unsold yet magically people were sitting at them all night. Yes, the staff won't light them but they also won't stop you from sitting at them. It really defeats the whole point. I guests next time here if I see an unused seat right behind the plate I'm moving in for the kill. The food we experienced was total trash. Cooked in the fires of hell overdone chicken finger baskets that had various amounts of fries meaning some of the orders had a lot and some barely had any. Total ripoff. What works here are the obvious things. Ticket prices are reasonable, the parking charge is in line with what you pay at most minor league parks and the stadium is small enough that all seats are good seats. Locationally it's also an easy on/off the NJT. Oh right, the baseball. Well, you get what you get for High A ball. A few throwing errors, two pop-ups that were dropped and more of what is killing the sport as a whole with a combined K total for both teams of 20+. All in all it was a good time and a good experience. Was it my favorite minor league park? Not by a longshot but it's good enough and I assume we'll be back in the future.

The game started with a parade of Legion Riders on their motorcycles - impressive. The experience did not disappoint as we were to experience the normal entertainment on and around the field - there was even a game! The Blue Claws lost, however, even though we were able to witness three individual home runs. It was a special night, for sure, as the Blue Claws welcomed their 8,000,000th spectator! I was spectator # 7,900, 949! An overall good experience and an opportunity for families to see some young men playing their hearts out for their chance at a brass ring. Prices are definitely affordable.

When this venue was the Trump Taj Mahal, Mr Etess was returning by helicopter to Atlantic City. The helicopter suffered a mechanical failure, leading into a crash killing three executives. The Trump Taj Mahal arena was named in Etess' memory. 2025, this venue is now inside the Hard Rock Casino. There is a bridge from Resorts Casino connecting to Hard Rock Casino, we didn't have to walk the boardwalk at night in January. After we had dinner, we walked inside to the venue. Once inside and the band came on stage, everything seemed magical. The huge screen behind the stage were showing clips of the band starting from the 70's and then every decade up to today. The acoustics in the venue were also very good. They had the area filled with sound from all angles. Our seats had a nice vantage point. We were facing the stage, in the bleacher section. The floor seats seemed like you weren't able to see the band and video screens very well. If you need to come to the hotel to park and you're a *Veteran* get the players card for the hotel and you'll get free parking! When we saw Yacht Rock Review last summer at the theatre, the venue removed all the middle seats?! Those folks were rockin' for two straight hours! To me, I'm from Long Island and the Jones Beach Theatre is the best place to see a concert. The Mark G Etess Arena is a great venue to see any event while in Atlantic City.

The area around the venue inside Hard Rock casino itself was also clean, didn't smell of smoke and was easily accessible to a variety of dining options and clean bathrooms.

The concept here is cool, and it has gotten slightly better over the years, but they never finished the place, the walkways are a mess and theres not enough nets. (I've been involved in softball 10+ years with two daughters so we've played everywhere, and the foul balls here are the worst) Plus they have a bunch of kids basically running things and they aren't very well trained. Speeding around in golf carts and doing a half butt job. Food is OK, a little pricey but again, its kids taking orders and serving and cooking and they need more training. Egg sandwiches always have shells in them, burgers are so-so, and i'm not sure they change the cooking oil enough. Plus lots of flies. It's just not a welcoming atmosphere. The bag checks and strip searches (exaggerating a little) and not being able to even bring my own coffee just makes me hate coming here. And for heavens sake how about some scoreboards? $10 entry fee and $8 eggshell sandwich and you cant hang scoreboards? I am more than happy to go to a dirt/grass field and watch for free with my own food and drinks.

Our first order of business was visiting monument park right as gates opened at 5:30 since it closes before first pitch. Best access is entering in through Gate 8, and surprisingly there was no line for a Friday evening game! This is a must for any baseball fan and you can see all of the retired Yankee numbers along with a monument plaque for greats. We also had a good field and dining experience. Tried the angry lobster roll, grub and tub chicken bucket, and ice cream chicken bucket. The chicken was alright, nothing too amazing but it is a lot of fries and a good amount of tendies. Pretty decent value for $23 since it comes with a souvenir drink. Lobster roll was great! I really liked the seasoning, and it came with a side of chips too. The real highlight was the ice cream chicken bucket! The hype is real with this one! Each drumstick was made intricately with yummy cornflake coating and the chocolate pretzel bone is a great touch. Seating in the 212 section was pretty fun. The Yanks are doing great right now so the energy in the crowd was amazing. We went crazy during Ben Rice's homer! Only downside was some people got a bit too crazy and threw up right behind my wife's seat...not great but it is what it is I guess. We enjoyed walking around the stadium, talking to fans, and taking in all the different views while getting our food. The one thing I'd say is that while our experience was good, can't help but feel the stadium lacks a bit of character. The concourse is just okay compared to most other modern stadiums, and there aren't many things other than monument park and the Yankee museum that make the place stand out. The great hall is cool, but you don't really spend much time there. It's a good stadium, but I feel like there were some missed opportunities during construction that could have put it in the upper echelon of MLB ballparks.

The bar is set high for ball parks because Kyle was a baseball player(lefty/first baseman,a relief pitcher) who missed his Junior and Senior year during Covid. Although lifelong Giants fan, who gets frequent field access and fantastic seats because his dad is a sports medicine/ ortho specialist who once worked for the St Louis Cardinals( as well as the Rams and the Blues). I digress because I am me ( also nobody tell my deceased father that we were here because the lifelong Brooklyn Dodger fan would have been heartbroken! I would have given Yankee Stadium four stars , based on ease of access from the subway, cute concession stand souvenirs ( the stadium cup and chicken finger bucket are being fashioned into an Easter basket for my nephew!) and cleanliness of restrooms. Also Aaron Judge hit home run within ten minutes of the game starting. Even though I am Yelp Elite Squad, Kyle's comments ( I hate Queens! This stadium is cool, but sucks compared to the Giants stadium!" and our new subway bestie pointing out how superior the old stadium was. sooo - Three stars for you based mostly on the impression made on Kyle.
