My first visit Sunday Nov 17. I am handicapped arriving on a motorized scooter and had trouble opening the outside door due to very heavy winds. Christian, an employee, came running out and not only escorted me but also helped me with securing tickets. When I was leaving almost 3 hours later, again Christian made sure I was able to exit without incident. In my opinion, the young man went above and beyond what I would expect. My first time going to a movie in seven years, and it was just me. I ordered my seat in advance online and I made sure to try and pick a seat that would ensure nobody was sitting next to me since it was such an empty theater for the first viewing of the day. Of course two people came and sat next to me which I know happens but honestly the movie theater was practically empty so I'd rather have a little bit more room away from people. Went to the lobby and asked the manager to move me and his system and he did. That worked out well. The lounge chair is definitely comfortable and I really like that concept. they darken the theater nicely, the sound was perfect. I enjoyed the movie! A complaint and a critisism - I have a nose like a bloodhound and I know I do smell things more than most people, but it smelled like pee in there. Are people urinating in that movie theater? I was in theater nine. it smelled like a New York City subway to me. It really needs to be cleaned. Another suggestion is for the snack bar. Hot Tea and coffee would be lovely options. I ordered on tickets on line July 28 for the Naked Gun movie showing on August 8th. We went to the theater. Checked in & got our popcorn. We were booted out of our seats. I still don't have a complete explosion what happened but there was a computer glitch & our seats were moved to another auditorium showing a different film. Before the state of the art Xscape theater opened in Howell (for a short time the best movie theater in NJ, now closed as a Covid casualty) we used to venture into Brick frequently to catch a movie and some Japanese hibachi at nearby Ikko. A recent return visit revealed nothing much has changed. The theater hovers somewhere between full update and the 1980's. The seating is comfortable (if a little grungy) but the neon and florescent carpeting persist along with the Kleenex soundproofing that allows you to take in three features at once - you haven't lived until you've experienced Meryl Streep and Vin Diesel sharing a scene. Pure magic. Refreshments have been scaled way back post pandemic to an odd assortment of candy and popcorn. Gone are the microwaved nachos and hot dogs (who craves a hot dog at the movies?... very strange.) Basically, Brick is an AMC in 2021, lucky to be alive and hoping that movie audiences return for anything besides the Marvel Universe. If they promise to permanently sideline the nachos and hot dogs, they may have a shot. A generous four stars. read more

Nice movie theater. Place was clean. Lazy boy reclining type seats. Comfortable. What I didn't like was having to look for someone to man the snack bar. Three young guys standing away from the snack bar chatting. I had to find them. The noise from the other movie theaters was distracting. If you were watching an action movie it probably wouldn't be so bad as your movie would be loud, but when you're watching a drama the bass thumping from the other movies is definitely a distraction. I order popcorn and a soda with my tickets, it's being a wile since I went to the movies so I figured I will try the new thing get the popcorn delivered to the seat. At 7:19 my girl and took a selfie seating at the seat, at 7:27 got a message saying the food was coming at 7:30 bu never did at 7:50 I went and as I got out of the auditorium a security guard ask me if I need anything, I say I order pop corn and coke but is not coming. He then radio the front and say is coming so I went back in and seat down. After the movie started and the snake didn't come I went to the front and complain a girl a the customer service tell me she delivered the order but I was not at the seat, I tell her I was seating down and she didn't come She then tell me she even left me a note at the seat, so I tell her maybe you went to the wrong auditorium and she got nasty and say the food is at the counter if you want it go and get it. The 2 people were saying if you want your food go get it. So I tell them you guys lying if you say you went to my seat. Later the security guard say ask me if I got the food I say I had to come and get it. He say he went to my seat and wit a flash light look for me and he didn't see me First she say she left a note, now he say he didn't recognize me seated a the specific seat They won't agree they screw up and on top they covered each other I just don't like went some one is lying on my face about me the auditorium was pack and because I got there early I can clearly see my row and seat, I knew I had to get that right if I wanted the pop corn Not something big to complain but they all lay about me on my face. read more

The best thing about AMC is online payment and seat selection. However the place needs to be cleaned more. Popcorn and food stuck in the seats and on the floor. Gave the concession stand girl a coupon for a free popcorn, I walked away, put butter on the popcorn and she comes running over saying that I owe her $4.50 cause she gave me a medium when it clearly stated on my coupon small. It looked small to me. Real nasty attitude. Think I'll stick with Freehold. Everyone seems happy to work there. read more

Ah, my local theater. This place has been a roller coaster ride over the last 10 years or so, usually with more low points than highs. Prior to the renovations (which took place a year or so ago, as of this writing), this place was an absolute dump. Broken bathrooms, filthy, sticky floors, you name it. I've been here a few times since the renovations, and while things are better than before, that isn't really too hard an accomplishment. First off, this must be an AMC thing, but the prices for concessions here mirror the ones in Eatontown. That being: absolutely insane. Large pretzel and a drink? $22! Large popcorn and two drinks? Also $22! Soda by itself is $6. I get that you're going to pay out the butt whenever you go to the theater for food, but between the highway robbery prices for tickets and concessions both, it's no wonder why I only go to the theater maybe twice a year. The renovations brought in much-needed improvements to the theaters themselves, which now have reserved seating and reclining chairs. However, I do wish they would have installed better stadium seating, since compared to other theaters, you're still fairly level with the people in front of you. Installation of the new reclining seats has also reduced the number of seats available, so if there's a movie you really want to see opening weekend here, I'd book tickets early. It's not a horrible theater, it just isn't very good, either. Marquee in Toms River is nicer, as is Xscape in Howell. Prices and upkeep are what holds this place back. read more

Better since it was redone. I don't like the idea of reserved seating, I prefer first come first serve. The kiosks to order tickets doesn't work half of the time, and $26 for two adults to see a movie on a weekday night? A little on the pricier side. It's $9.50 for a large popcorn bucket, but you get unlimited refills which I guess is a good deal if you have a bigger family. My brother and I have a Stubs account that we pay $15 a year for. We were waiting to see a movie in the Premiere line for Stubs members, and the person who you buy tickets from was taking people from the regular people line. When we pointed out that we were here before the other people were here, and waiting in the premiere line, the person turned their head away from us. So instead we had to buy our tickets through the app. The popcorn line was so long we skipped that. Then the one person cleaning the theater, started cleaning 10 minutes before the movie started, and then once the previews were started we decided to go in. I paid $19 for one ticket to a 3D movie. It is unacceptable that the attendant reprimanded us, and told us that we were impatient and should sit in the filth of the people before us. Horrible customer service. read more

I have been to this theatre before, but after tonight, they will not be getting a penny from me ever again. My family and I, after having a fun and eventful night, decided to end the blissful evening by watching the overall popular movie Barbie. After calling the theatre as we knew we wouldn't be there in time for the movie to start. The phone call consisted of an okay to come later, and that we could buy tickets there. We informed them we would be there roughly 30 minutes from their closing time, because we were that far from the establishment. As we try to enter, the doors were locked. We knocked and they replied they were closed. We told them the phone call and the worker said she would go interact with the manager. She went behind a vending machine and after 3 seconds came back and said the manager said no. I and the rest of my family was so upset and confused. Got in The Last Jedi on New Year's day. Loved the settings. The lazy boy seating was very comfortable and the movie audio wasn't to loud. The small popcorn was VERY expensive. More so than to see the movie....but that's most movie theaters. The bathroom was fairly clean when I went in there. Overall I can say I had no regrets and I look forward to revisiting the venue in the future. read more

The remodel made this theater a cornerstone of Brick. It's very easy to choose your seat ahead of time, walk right in and grab your junk food on the way to your show. Although most people still prefer to sneak in loads of shit from somewhere else, I enjoy the nachos and popcorn from inside the theater. The seats are comfortable to me and leave me wondering why I keep opting for a chase at home instead of a similar recliner or two. The staff is pleasant and easy going. I will not bitch about the prices because discount theaters are all but extinct and unless you feel like waking up unnecessarily early to save a few bucks on the matinee, you'd enjoy yourself and the experience a lot more if you just went when you wanted to. Besides you can always display your rebellion inside as you eat all the forbidden contraband during the movie so long as you remember to shut the fuck up and stay the fuck off the phone as a courtesy to the rest of us. So in short, the theater is way nicer than it used to be. Is the same price as everywhere else. Has sufficient restrooms and menu options. And has the clean, roomy, comfortable recliner chairs to make up for the idiotic seat selection trend that has been a blessing or a curse depending on how much you care. Go. Pay. Eat. Drink. Theater is nice- sure, reclining seats, Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, whatever it may be. Their food is not good and is overpriced- their mac & cheese bites literally tasted like vomit. The pricing of everything there- their tickets, their food, every single thing is overpriced. Their staff is rude and they have absolutely no manners. In need of a manager who can manage the staff efficiently rather than stand around and chit chat with staff while people place orders at the concession pressed for time to see a movie. I addressed this to the employee who finally started getting my order literally 5 minutes after I ordered it even though there was absolutely nobody else on line and I was spoken down to by another employee who I wasn't even speaking to who was sweeping the floor. I was trying to express my disappointment that while I was waiting for my order, they all stood there talking and laughing, including the manager. I then asked the manager why he wasn't "managing" the staff rather than allowing his staff to slack off. His response was he was off duty. read more

How do you kick out someone after an hour into a movie because 'handicap people' (two teenagers) happen to show up and claimed that bought tickets in advance????? The staff were very friendly and polite. The the only thing they could have done better was offer myself and my friend, two ladies on canes, help getting our concession purchases to our theater. I would have rated it 5 stars if not for that. The reclining seats are awesome. I will say, though, that if you are a larger person like my friend, you will want to sit in one where you can raise the arm between seats to give yourself a bit more room. Other wise you may end up "butt/hip dialing" the chair controls and find yourself flung back almost flat because they are kind of narrow. While my friend and I were cackling hysterically over that happening to her, some folks may not be so amused. The renovations have made it a nice, clean place (though I'm not fond of the carpet in the main area; it's an eye killer). You can disregard the previous reviews saying it's old, nasty and smells of urine. Our theater was very clean and had no nasty odors at all. All in all we had a very pleasant experience there and would go again. read more

I love the new seats but hate that they're assigned. We went for a friend's birthday and all were paying in cash so the kiosks were pointless and we all needed to wait in line and separately pick our seats. The screens for that aren't touch screen like the kiosks so you have to read each and every seat to the employee. It was much easier the old way. The seats and concession are cool but the new ordering system is a pain when using cash and in a large group. read more
