I am writing a review on the pool service that I received over the last year with Pinch a Penny.
It was one problem after another.
First it started with algae build up on the tiles. I called and complained and was told by Brett, who was very nice and is the service manager, that he would talk to my tech and have him address it. He defended the tech and gave me a bunch of excuses. This never fully resolved the issue as I continued to have this problem pretty much the whole time I had service with Pinch a Penny.
The pool tech who was servicing my pool basically was dumping chemicals in the pool and leaving. And not bushing the tiles or the side of the pool.
Next I had to call over the summer for them over chlorinating the pool, which eats away at the pools concrete finish. I spoke to Brett again and was givin another excuse. When I tested the water myself the chlorine levels tested off the charts while my PH was low!
I also had issues with algae build up on the walls in which I had to call the service manager multiples times. In fact I had to call multiple time in regards to all of these issues.
But the straw that broke the camels back, and the thing I find most concerning, is when the weekend before Christmas I went to check my pool and found algae build up on the walls again, from the lack of brushing. This time I called and asked to speak to the owner of the store. It was a friday afternoon and he had left for the day and I was told he would call me back the next day. He did. And after I explained to him all the problems I have had with my service over the last year he gave me a bunch of excuses defending his employees. There was no accountably on his part what so ever. It was a Saturday and since the service department was closed he told me that he would have someone out to my house on Monday. Monday came and no one showed up. Tuesday, nothing. Finally on my tech's regular day, Friday, someone finally showed.
It's a month later and my pool is green with algae build up on the walls again and I canceled service. Canceling it feel on the back burner with the madness of the holidays. I should not of waited.
I will not use the service department ever again nor with I ever step foot inside one of the stores. read more
