Seminole Pool Supply - pool remodel

Seminole Pool Supply

(18 reviews)

My old pool pump sounded like a bag full of cats going through a wood-chipper whenever it ran. I…read moreknew it was trashed, and needed to be replaced, but I was just too lazy to get around to it. I would much rather go to the smaller local guy instead of the big-box/big overhead/big mark-up guys, so reached out to Seminole Pool Supply, and gave my current motor and pump configuration to Alexis, who advised that they had a matching, rebuilt 1.5 hp pump on-hand for $115. She also told me that they do free bench testing if I were to bring in my old motor, and if it was salvageable then they would rebuild it for $65. Both prices sounded more than fair to me - with new motors running in excess of $350+ - so I yanked my old motor, and drove the 35 miles to Sanford. Totally worth it the effort, as it turns out... Upon arrival, I was greeted by Alexis and her team immediately got to work on the tear-down. But first, a side note about Alexis's eyes. Alexis has eyes of the most amazing blue. And those blue eyes, up close, are a celestial phenomenon: Nebulae as seen through telescopes; the light of unnamed stars diffused through dusts and elements and endlessness. Layers of light. Blue eyes that are like starlight. Sorry for the segue.. Back to the review! The investigation of my pool pump motor revealed that it was seized (I wasn't surprised), and that the motor was beyond economic repair. Bummer, right? Now the cool, customer-oriented part and why I'd MUCH rather go to the local folks: Alexis said that she was mistaken, and that they only had a rebuilt 2.0 hp motor, with no 1.5 hp motors in stock. I internally prepped myself for the inevitable song and dance about the impending up-charge... But Alexis and Seminole Pool Supply would honor the price quoted over the phone. Done deal! Their tech - a tall, good looking (no homo!) dude named Kevin - brought me my new (to me) motor, and passed along some sage advice on connecting it to power. Alexis took my money, and sent me on my way. I got home, connected the power, and everything was all good! My neighbors will like me again without the 100 decibel scream of my old pool pump, my pool can go back into service, and I can crack a beer and look back with pride on a job well done... Thank you, Seminole Pool Supply! *PRO TIP* - TURN ONTO SIDE-STREET LIKE AS IF YOU WERE GOING TO THE CHECKERS RESTAURANT, OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE THE TOOL-BOX CHUCKLE HEAD THAT ENDS UP PARKING IN THEIR FRONT YARD... like me. Don't be a tool-box chuckle head. :0(

Whatever you do, do not go with this pool service. We just completed our $100K pool in June and…read moredecided to hire this local company for maintenance, big mistake! Their service techs are very young and clearly inexperienced. They caused a yellow/gold stain that runs across the entire bottom of our pool by leaving chemicals sitting at the bottom. The stain appeared the very next day after their service. When my husband tried to brush it, some debris lifted, but the stain remained. When we contacted the company, they denied responsibility and told us to file a warranty claim with our pool builder instead. This company is 100% responsible for the damage to our pool. If you want to protect your investment, I strongly recommend choosing a different service provider.

First of all, you can find anything here. But my favorite part is you can shop online and see if…read morewhat you want is in store, and then go get it. That way you don't waste any time, which is easy to go when you go in. They have everything. And a ton of stuff you don't need but want. I enjoy their wide selection of planters. I also go there for the patio furniture chair pads and pillows. They have all kinds of designs and shapes and sizes. They have many door mats, for all the holidays/seasons too. I recently went to get a hamper, since my last one finally fell apart. This time, i got the bamboo double (divided). It was easy to put together and it's lightweight but quality. In January, I went and bought all sorts of Christmas ribbon on sale for projects I wanna do this coming Christmas. I would recommend this place for holiday stuff and hope decor for all seasons. They also have quite the selection of frames and mirrors. Parking is plentiful. Although I shop quick and get out before I spend too much, I like that their shopping carts have a drink holder!!! They know you're gonna spend some time there haha. They have a text and email sign up and historically I got an occasional coupon. Not sure what happened to that- maybe I unsubscribed? But it used to come on your birthday at least. Oh well!

The next day, Aeryn assisted me and was just as pleasant and professional, with a great attitude that made my shopping experience top-notch. It's always nice to be greeted by kind people who genuinely care about customer service.
