Very good food, great service. I've been here twice and no disappointment. Give this restaurant a try!

Excellent, excellent, excellent! Wonderful rustic bread and hard cheese to start. Loved the subtly flavorful, stir fried vegetables with wild mushrooms and shrimp, delicately cooked. Take the house recommendation for a glass of red wine, a merlot. And finish this delightful dinner with a lemon sorbet. Outstanding restaurant with a Basque twist!

Warm greeting, seated immediately. Heady, rich wine, bottled water, fresh crusty bread and sliced Manchego cheese drizzled with reduced balsamic vinegar hits my table immediately. The artichokes are everything everyone says. Dusted with coarse salt. To die for! Followed by the sautéed squid in onions. The plate was graced with its salty ink. Fabulous. Can't believe how delicious everything is!

Loved it from beginning to end...I arrived close to closing time on a Monday afternoon. Because I've been to Spain before, I learned if you arrive close to closing, you can typically get in without a reservation. I wouldn't advise trying to get in for dinner without a reservation! But I digress...I was visiting from the states and hadn't slept or eaten for about 28 hours, so I needed a good meal. My Yelp gurus did not disappoint with this suggestion! There were only two others dining when I arrived, and they quickly sat me at a table downstairs. There is also a dining area upstairs, but that was already closed. I asked for still water and a wine suggestion. She offered me a red blend by the glass, I believe Tempranillo blend as most are there, and it was wonderful. They bring you cheese with olive oil and balsamic as well as fresh bread. I ordered the lobster with creamed rice (lobster risotto basically), but this one is not made with cream but all lobster stock. It was incredible, no lie, one of the best risotto dishes I have ever eaten and that's saying something. So creamy and fragrant, and you could taste all parts of the lobster. It had a few shrimp in there as well, but honestly those were an afterthought in my opinion. I wish I had room for dessert but was way too full. The service was charming as no one rushed me, even though it was their closing time. They cleaned around me, chatting with me and making me feel like a part of their family. I loved every moment of my visit and hope I can get back some day!

A great Yelp find- the artichoke appetizer is a must have, along with the sautéed veggies with shrimp. Excellent service and fine dining. Casual attire or cocktail dresses would be suitable.

Very good food and portions were big enough for two. Price was very reasonable for a lobster dish.

With a decently sized menu, there will be no shortage of dishes to try. We elected to go for some Spanish classics and their featured dishes, which included their Creamy Rice with Lobster, Traditional Tripe Stew, and Aged Beer Rib-eye. The creamy rice with lobster is essentially a risotto, with the rice being cooked al dente. While the texture is nice, because of the smaller portion of lobster and the lack of flavor, by the end it feels like you're just left with a bowl of undercooked rice. The traditional tripe stew was quite good, with the beef being extremely tender and chewy. The rib-eye itself was a large cut, however, a good portion of the meat is fat. Additionally, it's only seasoned with a light touch of salt, so at the end of the day also lacking a bit. If you want to come to El Pimiento Verde, it's primarily for the ambience. The food itself is fine, though nothing to call home about. If you're short on time and looking for places to experience Spanish cuisine, this is probably one restaurant that can be skipped.
