Very classic style restaurant, with delicious food- we enjoyed a beef menue and classic tomato bread. A broad card of Spanish wines rounds up the dinner. The rice desert and espresso has been superb as well. Enjoying classical Spanish / Bascian food- this is a great place to be.

This place was literally steps away from our hotel and without reservations we walked in and were seated. There's upstairs seating as well and the bathrooms are downstairs. Everyone seemed to know the manager/owner. It was like walking into your families house. Like all Spanish restaurants you're served bread (which you will be charged for) and a tiny appetizer, for us it was vinegared anchovies. We looked through the menu and the daily specials on the chalkboard near the bar. We settled on a red sauce seafood stew and a goat cheese appetizer with the rolled langostines. Delicious all of it. We ordered coffee and got a tunnel shaped almond dessert. We were surprised that they have Spanish non-alcoholic beer on tap! Nice flavors and different from the other regional cuisine. Would definitely go back.

Do not go to this restaurant!! We asked for a recommendation from the hotel we were staying at (Princesa Plaza). Jacobo at the front desk recommended we go here, said it was a "local" place. Told us to ask for Manolo o Jesus. From the minute we walked in we were treated as "unwanted". Our waiter Manolo was inpatient and unfriendly. The wine we ordered had tannins and when we brought it up to Manolo he said that it was usual. I have been drinking wine for a long time and have never encountered thus before. I would not recommend this restaurant at all. Spend your money somewhere else.‼

With a decently sized menu, there will be no shortage of dishes to try. We elected to go for some Spanish classics and their featured dishes, which included their Creamy Rice with Lobster, Traditional Tripe Stew, and Aged Beer Rib-eye. The creamy rice with lobster is essentially a risotto, with the rice being cooked al dente. While the texture is nice, because of the smaller portion of lobster and the lack of flavor, by the end it feels like you're just left with a bowl of undercooked rice. The traditional tripe stew was quite good, with the beef being extremely tender and chewy. The rib-eye itself was a large cut, however, a good portion of the meat is fat. Additionally, it's only seasoned with a light touch of salt, so at the end of the day also lacking a bit. If you want to come to El Pimiento Verde, it's primarily for the ambience. The food itself is fine, though nothing to call home about. If you're short on time and looking for places to experience Spanish cuisine, this is probably one restaurant that can be skipped.
