This place is all torn up. This pilot gas station is connected to a Wendy's. They're doing major construction and while they are open, I don't recommend stopping there. Typically I do stop at Pilot stations. We stopped for the Wendy's. Food was fine. Bathrooms are out in a trailer. In the men's room, one stall contained a very full toilet. The other had a broken door handle and was un-openable. The seat on my chair at Wendy's wasn't attached to the rest of the chair. The other thing I noticed was what appears to be a solar powered set of security cameras in the parking lot. That made me wonder if the area has a crime problem or if they're just worried about crime during the construction. Attempted to buy gas. There's a note on the pump to press skip if you see an unexpected prompt. I hit skip twice before getting a message to "see cashier". Rather than going back in, I just drove elsewhere - where the pump worked fine using the same card. I drive up and down I-55 multiple times a year, and I think this place has been under construction for awhile. That will be my last stop until they get their $hit together. read more

Okay so it's not very often that I will give a five-star review. The reason that I did was Kiara and Ashley both greeted me as I entered the store, made me feel welcome, and had the cleanest restrooms I've been in all year! I was so relieved when I walked in that there wasn't toilet paper all over the floor, urine all over the toilet, or trash all around the trash can. They literally have a sign on the wall that says you deserve to have a clean restroom! You cannot understand how important this is when traveling with children! The restrooms even smell clean. the prices on all of their products are comparable to the competitors. The location is right off the expressway. And the customer service was exceptional. I would recommend stopping here even if you just need to use the restroom! read more

This pilot is not too bad you have a Wendy's restaurant inside and a KFC across the street, the showers are not too bad but the water could be a little more hot instead of just warm, it's really gets busy during the evening rush hour and truck parking gets full real fast early. read more

It's a pretty fair gas Station. Came here via megabus over the week twice. The store is pretty expensive for stuff here. Bathrooms are fairly clean. The staff is really nice. Tons of gas pumps too. read more

When I moved to the area, I lived a few blocks from here so I would stop here to get gas on the way to work. The pumps are old. They look like they would be easy to tamper with. The gas prices are usually a little cheaper than BP though. I would stop in here to grab a slice of pizza and a drink on my way to work. I eventually had to stop because the customer service is so bad. Once I was in there and a group of employees were talking loudly about an employee who called in. The manager was getting ready to call her because apparently it was an ongoing problem. They were all getting giddy and celebratory. Meanwhile one register is open and taking forever. One time I went in and an employee was sitting on the counter next to the register. She's talking with customers and the girl running the register. This is very frustrating when one register is open and it's going slow. If she's on break then I imagine there is a better place to sit. Another time I was waiting to order a slice of pizza. An employee walks up and asks what I want. Right as I do that an old man walks up. Apparently he was in there before me so she says she's going to get his things first. That would be great if he didn't take forever deciding. I ended up leaving because I wasn't about to be late for work over a slice of pizza. I started stopping at the BP down the street. The people working in there were more helpful and friendly. read more

Cheap gas on the way to Springfield. The women's restroom is awkwardly behind the cash register and is accessible but it has a tight main entrance. They put a trash can right behind the main restroom door that had to be moved so I could enter with my wheelchair. There's ample parking and a Wendy's with a drive-thru. read more

Don't bother with this fueling station. We're hauling a fifth wheel camper and it's pretty sad that they only have 1 diesel pump by the cars and you have to drive to fuel up by the truckers. Then you have to prepay and they block $500.00. It's not convenient to get to and store is not clean. Why not take some of the money you make on the truck drivers and fix it up. read more

Why would a truck stop provide basic necessities to the drivers. Not like the drivers are delivering all the necessities we require. Why would we want the drivers to have a clean place to eat, or better yet be able to do laundry. Why would we want to provide them with quarters? Come on Pilot get it together and support those who are supporting our country continuing to run. Remember what it was like when no toilet paper was on the shelves?? Not like the grocery fairy delivered it to the stores. read more

If you are driving between the St. Louis and Chicago areas, this is the place to stop. It is small and no-frills, but it is simple and has everything you need. One thing I consistently like about stopping here: they have scrubby Gojo (cherry) soap in the restroom. Gets the grime off and smells great (ok, it smells like fake cherry candy, but who doesn't need a little excitement driving through flat Illinois?). read more

Staff was very nice. They forgot to put towels in my shower but the shower was fairly clean and spacious. Cleaning staff knocked on the door 4 times during the time I was taking a shower so it was annoying and uncomfortable!! Great truck stop to stop at if you're coming through. Do not stop here first off the pump did not work right charged us .04 and quit and printed receipt ok fine I will go to BP. Then much to our surprise we had a temp auth on our card for $151 from Pilot we called the bank and they told us that the station set it, sooo if you do not have a lot on your card and plan $10 in gas they will put a hold for $151. There are a few gas stations at this exit to choose from that won't mess your account up. read more

We had never used the showers before at any Pilot or truck stop. So I was kinds of leary. They allowed us to see the shower first, and the rooms are big with plenty of counter space. It was quite clean. And they provide a towel, wash cloth and bath mat. So we reserved and within minutes we were able to shower. They allow couples to use the same shower room and they provided additional towels for the same price of one shower. The staff was extremely friendly. The facilities are very clean. We will definitely use Pilot's showers in the future. Sandy, one of the staff, was the best. Sandy gave us a tip, get a rewards card and after 50 gallons of gas, you earn a free shower. read more
