We had an amazing women's retreat at this camp, and it was amazing. The showers were hot, the bathrooms were near, and the cabins were nice.

My partner and I felt like VIPs sitting in the sweetheart booth getting doted on by the wait staff. The fact that the venue is inclusive of florals, catering, music, and more is simply unmatched and we loved that The Homestead didn't feel like a corporately owned venue--they seemed to be really invested in making sure we were happy and as stress free as possible. The bride whisperers were also just amazing. If you like venues with a rustic look surrounded by beautiful landscapes and personal touches galore, this is the venue for you!

Our daughter and son-in-law committed to this location for their wedding over a year ago. Since that time there has been much planning and working with Paula, the venue owner. She was absolutely fantastic, handling all the organizational details with the caterers, DJ, and bartender. The wedding just took place this month, during an epic rain storm. This is an outdoor venue, and we were working late into the night before the wedding to have tents brought into to keep everyone dry and safe. NOTE: We (the parents) should have planned better for the inclement weather. Paula did everything she could to help ensure the day would be absolutely wonderful. We were communicating with Paula late into the evening and she was always responsive and supportive. The staff did a fantastic job. The HomeStead is an incredible venue and we highly recommend it for your wedding venue. Thank you Paula and staff!

Fig and lavender infused (LI) goat cheese pizza was excellent. LI mixed drinks were very good, but the LI beer was a bit of a let down. Sour type beer is fine but lacked any lavender smell or taste. Maybe expecting too much. Advice- Use the washrooms in/by the old hotel lobby, avoid the ones on the side of building with the large Pennants saying 'restrooms.'...they are old hotel rooms with storage boxes all over. Note main food vendors by the music stage area but there are boutique vendors at one side of venue by the hotel, with the LI teas, coffees, ice cream etc. Most sell the same stuff ( teas, jams, olive oils, creams, lotions, nic-nacs, etc). Will go back again.

I'm sure a lot has been said already about HIGHLAND SPRINGS' FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS so I'll try not to bore you with a long and lengthy "this is what you can find here". I will try to give some tips though. - Come early. Yes, even before the lights turn on. This is beneficial for avoiding traffic, getting good parking spots, shorter food lines, shorter bathroom lines. - Get your food first. So you can walk off the calories. Also, because most people eat after an activity when they get hungry... and then the line will be super long. - Get whatever lavender they have. Hot cocoa, Latte... - Reserve a s'mores pit. When it's cold, it's the best. - Take pictures of everything everywhere. We consumed the following and they were GREAT! - Smoked Brisket Poutine - Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl - Lavender Latte - Lavender Hot Chocolate
