Dogwood flowers!
David S.

We had a great time and the staff was great to. We were well taken care of and the kids loved all the activities. I would recommend it to any youth group. church or family outing.

Our trip this year! 2017!

I'm going for a church retreat and I'm wondering is there cell service here?

We do have service up here! It depends a lot on your phone carrier. The best service comes from Verizon and AT&T. Can’t wait to see you here.

I was apprehensive to leave my kids for the first time on a away camp but the camp staff assured me my kids would have fun and boy they did... fishing, fire camps, archery, rock climbing, lake kayaking, hiking, swimming and just being around nature took my kids breath away my son literally told me "I never felt so peaceful like this week before" Definitely will be signing them up next year, thank you Sandra and all the staff for providing such a fun place for kids to be kids again, definitely a 10.

We loved the nature hike we had "Jelly" (a couple of our groups got rained out-obviously to no fault of the camp), we enjoyed archery, paint ball sling shots with "Stitch", painting wood necklaces, drama circle, and an amphitheater with breathtaking views of the the sunset. We loved our hike to the lake for canoeing. I too thought the pool was chilly but it was clean! Their swim rules seemed to be really intense to me. "No jumping off the edge of the pool" hmmm ok. In my opinion overly cautious. However, the Rock wall was a blast, equipment was in good condition. Hatchet throwing was hard, but fun. I wish the hatchets were sharp enough to grab the wood. It was rare anyone stuck one into the log rounds. Some combination of wood being too hard or axes not balanced correctly made that activity a struggle. We enjoyed trying. The team building activities were thoughtful and stretched our girls as individuals and forced team unity. Maybe my favorite part of all of camp. They lost a star for food quality and portions but the staff was always in good spirit. I also wish our group had the entire cafeteria to ourselves as we often were low on space at tables and often went outside as our designated seating was full. But the food was served on time and they got a lot of people food in timely fashion. They were organized. Our cabins were dry when it rained and i felt safe from the elements and wildlife that can live nearby. Some mattresses were thicker than others. I was comfortable enough for a week of camping. The plumbing struggled at times but not sure that was the camps fault or the 85 GIRLS who MAY have not disposed of things properly. Lol Overall I think with some retraining on camp cooking and a minor tweak here and there this would be a 5 star camp. The location was beautiful. The staff was friendly. The activities were super fun!

There is electricity available inside and the bathrooms have 2 stalls and a shower. There is also a large cabinet to store small items. I was also concerned about the food because of prior reviews (burned hamburgers and cold cuts). It was 100% not true! Both mornings we had hot eggs and potatoes. One morning included sausage. There was a nice assortment of yogurt, fresh fruit and oatmeal with lots of extra toppings, along with nice pastries. Lunches were also quite nice and included hot entrees, salad and goodies. Dinners were hot meats, baked potatoes with lots of toppings to choose and cooked vegetables. I was more than satisfied with the amount and quality of the food. Even though our party arrived a little late on the first night, there was parking available near our cabin. Lots of varied activities were also available for all ages and abilities. Anyway when we got there, there are cabins with bump beds. It s the size of twin. I disinfect and OmG IT WAS DIRTY!! The beds are plastic type of cover there are not normal mattresses. Inside the cabin you will think it nice and clean but no it is not. Is like a hotel when they only clean where their in laws sees. That is nasty. The meals comes with the package and the meals are good the staff are nice. Overall experience it was nice and you should try it one time. Do I recommend here? I hope that cleaning the cabins the places also the chairs as well. but really cleaning them like clean the bump beds inside and out, the windows fixing them have good air central and clean the carpet not only vacuum it but also sanitize it as well. I'm saying before someone comes in and takes over. Not cleaning it only the surface and let someone else take over. The showers really deep clean them and sanitize them. Toilet bowls where clean. If they fix all that it will be recommended constantly. Up to you if you want to stay here with your group for few days. ******update review 03/20/16****** We received a response…read moreback from Nickie. She indicated that there must have been a misunderstanding with hotels.com and according to their records never communicated with them. I am still not happy with the drama and the lack of communication between both companies, due to the extra bill and honestly the BS excuse to justify charging our card. I still stand by the fact that my family had an amazing time,! The grounds, for us, had been magical and both of my bulldogs could not stop playing in the snow. *****original review***** I thought I had left a review for my stay and looked through yelp to update it. Evidently I never did, so. Here it is. I booked a cabin for thanksgiving 2015 (through hotels.com). We showed up early on Thursday the 26th and where so happy that they let us check in early. In full disclosure we showed up at 10am and our check-in was not until 2pm. I was freaking out since the place seemed abandoned. My husband kept telling me to relax, its early. It was such an amazing experience and truly was perfect. It was snowing , the place was empty except for 2 other families. We arrived with our 2 bulldogs who we walked around EVERYWHERE!!!!! See pictures Fast forward to Dec 9th. I receive an email from Nickie telling me that she is going to charge my credit card an extra 156 for pretty much destroying the room and the icing on the cake is when she states "we don't allow dogs" Really ?? It wasnt an issue to have dogs when i booked theough hotela.com and i always make sure that the place is pet friendly. It wasnt an issue when nickie finally greeted me and checked me and my famliy in. One of my bulldogs was with with me when i filled out the papetwork. It wasnt an issue when the maitence guy showed us to our cottage and helped walk one of the dogs in. BUT IT WAS AN ISSUE ONCE WE CHECKED OUT and she took the liberty to charge my credit card and send me an email telling me btw..... Really ??? She charged me more than it cost to book the room! This was definitely surreal. Add injury to insult they had the audacity to inform hotels.com that I cancelled. So I was still charged for a late cancelation and have now opened a case with hotels.com since I want to receive my credit that was removed when "SOMEONE" from this place told them that I had cancelled directly with them. I can't start to describe how frustrated and upset I am. Shame on this place for lying & over charging me. My 1 night stay turned into a $400 ordeal. I would suggest booking elsewhere!! My biggest disappointment is that I always travel with my dogs and I have NEVER, EVER been so insulted as I was with this email. I didn't contest it. The only reason I wanted to update my reviews was after finding out that they lied and stated we cancelled. When you only have 2 families on the premises it can't be that hard to keep track of them or, notice when one of them has dogs. I won't deny how beautiful this place is. It was the overall experience that has soured. Here is my proof that Nickie charged me for a stay that we supposedly never made. From "Nickie Scott" nickie.ranchlive.com Date Dec 9, 2015 1:36 PM Subject: Cottage 16 To Cc Good afternoon, Thank you again for choosing to stay at Arrowhead Ranch. Upon inspection of Cottage #16 after your stay, damages were found. Evidence of a dog was found because our bedspread was used as a dog bed on the floor (MUCH dog hair was left behind and we do not allow pets). Red wine was spilled on the walls and a bath towel, wash cloth, bath mat, curtain panel, and throw rug. Some items were unsalvageable due to fire and soot damage and/or wine stains. Also, something was burned on the fireplace shovel and could not be scraped off and saved. Please find the breakdown of our fees below to clean and/or replace the items that you damaged during your stay. Our staff spent over 2 hours cleaning this cottage that commonly takes 45 minutes to clean. As a result, we were forced to charge your card with the following breakdown of fees/damages. Cleaning Fee $60.00 Shovel $20.00 Rug $20.00 3 Towels $36.00 Bathmat $12.00 Wash Cloth $8.00 Total Charges: $156.00 Sincerely, Nickie Scott Guest Services Manager Arrowhead Ranch P.O. First true experience away from home without family like many others. She only had good things to say about the staff and food options. Luckily no bed bug issues like prior reviews. Shout out to Beatrice for being awesome with the kids! -2 stars for the bathroom/shower situations. It doesn't sound like there are many bathrooms for the amount of kids there. She mentioned some being clogged and feeling rushed due to several others needing to use the bathrooms. There were so many activities that she felt like there weren't many breaks to use the bathroom. In her dorm there were only 2 bathrooms/showers. They got back late after 9pm and rushed to squeeze people through to shower. People were barging in having to use the bathroom as others showered. Apparently the shower curtain was so minimal, another girl used an extra bed sheet to help create privacy, which all the girls appreciated. Maybe add a couple port-a-potties?! Might be wrong, but also sounded like not many trustworthy sources for water and hydration outside of meal time.
