We noticed this new place while eating at Thai Rak Thai across the street and had to check it out. The cookies are what called to me, and they did not disappoint. I feel like cookies are hard for places to do well; they are usually either too hard, too dry, or too greasy for my liking. All 3 that we tried (chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and s'mores) were the perfect texture with great chocolate chip/raisin ratios. The price was very reasonable ($2/cookie or $3/stuffed cookie, and they are substantial in size), and the service was friendly. We live in Virginia now but will be back for more cookies any time we visit NEPA.

Delicious mini cheesecakes, gooey brownies, and big cookies! I loved that the cookies were soft on the inside and generously filled with chocolate. I went in on First Friday and the crew there were so sweet. I brought the desserts to a litte party where we cut it into smaller pieces and there wasn't a crumb left behind. I can't wait to come back for lattes and sandwiches on their homemade bread!

Yum!!! Whether…read moreyou're trapped at the hospital next door or just looking for a good coffee, Blackwatch is a great stop. They have a great rotating menu of seasonal drinks and your standard classics. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of what they have. The space is SO cute decked out with old movie memorabilia and Scranton antiques. The price is a bit jarring for NEPA, but life moves on and the drinks are fantastic

Rarely in my travels do I encounter such a cute coffee spot that deserves a special shout out, but Blackwatch Cafe is worth a caffeine fix detour when traveling through the Scranton area. The unique vibe hits you as soon as you walk in, as there's decor worth a look in almost every direction. It's a tasteful collection of fixtures, pictures, and figures of all kinds. There is parking nearby the cafe, and the place offers a walk up window should you wish to sit on the patio outside or grab a drink to take for a stroll in the park. I ordered an iced mocha latte (half sweet), and it was prepared to perfection with a smooth taste and just the right amount of sweetness, and no hints of bitterness. It was probably the best iced mocha drink I've had in over a year. Service from the several ladies working there was really friendly. All in all, Blackwatch Cafe was a top notch cafe experience for me, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend others give them a visit when visiting Scranton. It's definitely the kind of coffee shop the world could use more of, offering a quality product, as well as a unique cafe experience. The park offers a wonderful place to stroll as well.

Zummo's is a coffee shop and cafe. I found it on Yelp. I could just tell it would be good. The number 2 way to judge a coffee shop. The coffee is good. My black iced coffee was good, and served quickly even though there were a lot of people there. They also sell beans from multiple roasters. Mostly blends. I was always talk about the shock and awe of a spot's baked goods case. I was shocked and awed. They had gigantic, amazing looking scones. I bought one that I'm saving for my family. I ordered a piece of one of 3 frittatas available. Spinach feta. It was way above average for cafe frittata. Good flavor and texture. They had a number of bagel sandwiches ready to be cooked. Although the front room was full when I walked in, it turns out they have a large back room as well. Lots of seating. Wood floors. They also have cool outside seating. I was impressed by Zummo's, and also the closeness of the Scranton community. Lots of people walking together outside. Gathering over coffee. Saying Hi to people. Scranton is doing something right. 5 Stars
