My husband and I stumbled upon this bakery by (happy) accident. We were picking up some dessert for a small family event. It was hard to pick and choose what to get because everything looked so good. Once we got it home, we were not disappointed. Everything was amazing. We had the apple and lemon pie, a fruit tart, and a bunch of cupcakes. The cupcakes we got were Tiramisu, Apple Pie, Lemon, Blackberry Lavendar, Carrot Cake, and Strawberry Moscato. Each one was better than the last. Highly recommend. I'm always looking for great pizza,as we have lots of pizza places around here but most are just so so. I've been reading about this place so while on an errand in kingston today I thought I'd check them out. As I've stated in the past my favorite thin crust pizza is the Dough Company so I set the bar high. I pulled in just to get a menu, the parking is good and that's a plus. Inside the place is neat and clean I asked for a take out menu and the woman that greeted me was pleasant got it and explained it,good so far. Keep in mind this was during lunch and there was a decent crowd in there so I asked how long for a pizza? " we're a little busy so 10 mins,is that ok? Works for me I had 10 to spare. So back in 10, " it will be another min. or so". It's been my experience that's never a good sign. To my surprise out it came in a sturdy box in a min. Getting better right? Now for the most important part: the pizza. Let's start with the crust ,it's well cooked,soft but sturdy and has an excellent flavor I suspect they use a starter and let it proof properly. It's light and tasty not doughy and tasteless. The sauce is robust and not watery it's the real deal it tastes like it was made from fresh sweet tomatoes (not overly sweet) ,the cheese is not rubbery, greasy or fake. Yes,this pizza is the real deal. Not cheapest,they have one size but it's not the most expensive either. I got a plain (best test). I can't put in the top 10 but I can put it in my top 3. read more

Have heard good things about this place for some time and finally stopped in today. We had two of their wood fired oven pizzas and they were 10 out of 10. We had the DiSalvo Siciliano (tomatoes basil Parmesan and anchovies) and the Romeo and Juliet (crushed tomatoes mozz parm basil and prosciutto). Their crust is top shelf and the pizza was nice and thin with a solid undercarriage. We then tried some of the bakery offerings, cannoli and a cannoli cupcake. Both outrageous. This was the third time I went and every time was amazing. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the service is great. But the food is the star of the experience. From the awesome waffles to the huge mugs of hot chocolate (with I think 8 different flavors to choose from) everything is delicious. I have to admit I love their pizza the best. We got the Margarita pizza the first time but this time I was on my own so I got the Romeo and Julliette. It was a Margarita pizza with Prosciutto and it was incredible. I needed a birthday cake for my daughter's b-day. I've been wanting to stop by this place, so I stopped on a Saturday morning around 9:15. They open at 9 am and there were already people dining inside and a few take out orders were being picked up. Good sign! It's a very warm, cozy and inviting environment. There are tables for inside dining. I didn't order a cake ahead, but they had about 8 different varieties of cakes in the case. I picked one out and while it was being boxed, I couldn't help but notice their cupcakes and other delicious goodies. I decided to splurge and picked out 6 cupcakes as well. As soon as I got home I couldn't wait to try one. My son picked up the Rumchata cupcake, I grabbed the limoncello and my fiancé scarfed down the brownie. YUM! These were so moist and delicious! The frosting on the cupcakes isn't too sweet or heavy. The cake was phenomenal. They use a mix of buttercream and French cream that left our tastebuds wanting more!! It's a very unique place. they have pastries , coffee, pizza and waffles. That's about it, but they've mastered everything. Start off with a scone, while you're waiting for the waffles. We got the cinnamon waffles and I was COMPLETELY blown away by them. I don't want to set your expectations too high, and then have you disappointed, but it's hard not to over praise the waffle. It was nice and crispy on the outside , but remained nice and dense in the middle. IT DID NOT require much syrup for flavor. Top notch! And the pizza was incredible. I really enjoyed their pizza, especially because there is a Nepa war between pizza parlors here and their sweet sauce. The crispy and thin crust was perfect. I only wish they made wings to get the best combo. We called ahead for the pizza and later picked it up. While waiting for our pizza, we picked up some cupcakes and brownies in their front case. All frostings were so light and the fruit fillings were my favorite. Can't wait to try more of their pizza flavors and will get pies next time! read more

Such a cute little "treehouse" themed place! On driving by, the restaurant is barely noticeable along the residential houses. There is no parking lot so you will have to park on the street in front of other houses. It offered a variety of freshly baked goodies and treats along with thin edged pizza. The toppings they have are some I've never pictured on a pizza but they sure are delicious! We ordered 2 pizzas. One pizza has 8 slices which is plenty for 1-2 people depending on how hungry you are. Since its not oily nor thick crusted, you will not get full too fast with 1 or 2 slices. As per our waitress' recommendation, we order the MARGARITA (the usual ingredients but in a perfect proportion. As amazing as a Margarita can be!) and THORIN'S THUNDER (crazy combo including peaches, pepperoni, mozzerella, supersata. A mixture of salty and sweet in every bite!) Tried a couple baked goods for dessert. The cupcakes are very moist and there are filled centers. The mini cakes looked pretty with tons of frosting and sprinkles. Absolutely blown away by this place. Visited here this evening on Valentine's Day. I've lived in Southern California and Dallas, TX and this has been...by far...the best bakery I've visited. Not only were the desserts delicious (and I sampled many), but the service and attention to detail was spectacular. The place was run by two ladies working in the front and they had everything under control like a well greased machine. There are some establishments that look good, but the food and/or service is sub par. Not this place. It is obvious that the owner has poured his/her blood, sweat and tears into making this place the absolute best it could be, and it shows. The prices were very reasonable! In fact, I was actually baffled at the amount of work that must have gone into these pastries, yet the price point was lower than I'd have expected, and MUCH lower than I've paid elsewhere for pastries not NEARLY as good. My cousin and I ordered 6 different cupcakes, a fruit tart and a lobster tail. We each took a bite of all 8 things and found each to be delicious. I loved that there was an element of sweet and crunch...but the cake was tender and moist, and the sweet element was balanced out by something tart or not AS sweet. Nothing was overdone or tasted like pure sugar. It was very nice. And the latte was DIVINE! Foamy and creamy and just right. So that's all I have to say. Go to this place! I starting patronizing AmberDonia when they opened their bakery in Conyngham on Main st about 12 years ago I think. I have gone to their first location in Kingston a ton of times and now the new one on the Avenue a bunch of times. Through all of their moves, the awesomeness of their offerings has never deviated. It was great the first time and has been every time I have gone there. I believe that consistency matters in the restaurant business and these guys have been that and more. read more

Someone in the reviews mentioned this place has a "treehouse" vibe and I totally agree! Very cute/eclectic/whimsical decor. Gorgeous lacquered wood tables, strung lights and, of course, you can't forget the beautiful display cases of baked goods. Came here on a Saturday around 11 hoping for a breakfast/brunch (our fault for not researching the menu ahead of time), but were given a menu with lunch (wood fired pizza) and coffees/pastries, and a few salads. I was hoping at the very least for some bagels or eggs. The pizzas sounded wonderful but we weren't feeling them at that time of day, so we each ordered a pastry (lemon danish and apple turnover), and cappuccinos. Everything was decent, but I've had better. The pastries were just taken out of the case and put on a plate. I thought they would have been popped in the oven or microwave right quick to make them a lil' warm and soft. Before we left, we perused and purchased from the dessert cases because, how could you not? We got a sfogliatelle, an orange baklava ,a standard baklava, and a buttercream sugar cookie with a gorgeous rainbow maple leaf on it. Those were very tasty. Overall, it was very affordable, but felt lacking a bit in the non-pizza menu, which is fine if that's your schtick, but the addition of pastries and salads and coffees would indicate more brunchy/breakfasty items. Perfection! 5 stars! I want to start with how perfect the Belgian waffles are at Amberdonia! Each waffle on the menu is incredible and delicious, and most of all, I loved how creative they are! They only serve these amazing waffles on Sunday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Every Sunday, I order the same one, we have tried all of them throughout our visits, but I always go back to the birthday bash, really simple, whipped cream and sprinkles. I know there is not much to be said about whipped cream, but if you haven't tried this whipped cream, the texture and flavor are perfect, and I can't get enough. I don't know what it is, but everything they make is amazing; the pizza is like no other in this area. I'm not a pizza fan; it's the same old white noise around here. The quality of ingredients is top-notch. Even the decor is awesome; they have dried wheat used in the flour for the pizza crust along the service area. You can tell a lot of thought and time went into this place and knowing it makes it much more appreciated. The service is remarkable, and everyone is so friendly and nice, which makes it enjoyable to sit and relax. You won't find another bakery like this around the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area; the prices are reasonable, knowing you are paying for quality over quantity. read more
