My cousin told me to check this place out. Glad I did! I ordered a full tray of plain pizza. The nice lady who took my order said that would be 18 cuts of pizza. I was surprised that when I picked it up, there were two full pizza boxes. The pizza is a fried Sicilian, not too thick, with tasty sauce and cheese and lots of onions. (You can also order without onions.) The slices on the edges and corners are the best! Very good pizza . About $34 for a full tray. The only negatives are that it is takeout and cash only. Give it a try and I think you'll like this different method of preparing a pizza. read more

My spouse and I found this establishment because we stopped overnight on our way from New Hampshire to Indiana. It's clearly a "hole-in-the-wall" (not a criticism) store, with a strong local following. We were the only people in an hour and a half who ate "in," at the tables: the rest of the clientele was take-out. It's family run; and clearly a lovely thing in itself. As other reviews note, it's a "by the cut" parlor. As for the pizza: the dough / crust may be the best we've ever eaten. The sauce is good; and other toppings were good but not great. We stopped in Wilkes-Barre en route from NH to VA. My wife Amy was reading Yelp reviews of pizza places near our hotel. Ceccoli's caught her eye because of the glowing five-star reviews. Here's one more: Ceccoli's serves pizza by the cut, which turns out to be a rectangular piece of pizza about 5-6" long by about 1.5-2" wide. There's "red," which has a really tasty sauce with onion cooked into it (you can get it without onion, too) and cheese. When we stopped, it was $1.35/cut. You can add a topping to each cut for .25 per. We ordered 10 cuts of red with pepperoni and 5 cuts plain. They have specialty pizzas--white, broccoli, and potato--but they were out when I ordered (about 8:30 on a Friday; they close at 9:30). The pizza has just the right amount of sauce and cheese. It is light and fluffy on top with a delicious, crispy crust. Our son said that it reminded him of fried dough--that's a pretty accurate comparison. We also ordered a dozen wings, mild. They were cooked correctly (crispy), big, and crazy inexpensive. A price of $7.50 for a dozen wings of this quality is hard to find in our part of VA. They're usually over $1 each and not cooked well (I'm a Buffalo NY native so maybe a *little* picky about wings. The place is small with about 3-4 small two-person wooden tables and a handful of booths. It's in an old neighborhood but has parking. The people are very friendly. I ordered on the spot and had about a 25 minute wait. Call ahead if you order. It was only about a 5-minute drive from our hotel (near the Medical Center), so the pizza was still hot when I got back to the room. We're trying to order pizza from local businesses instead of the big chains. If you're in Wilkes-Barre, check out Ceccoli's. We'll stop there again if we're in Wilkes-Barre! read more

I feel terrible giving this place 2 stars. I truly wish I could give it 4 or 5. We were in Wilkes-Barre to see Josh Gates at the Kirby Center. BTW Wilkes-Barre is properly pronounced Wilkes-"Bar-ey". We stayed at a Host Suites about 2 miles from the venue. It was clean and ok but not great. It has a great rating on Booking.com. The Best Western,on E Market St, would have been a better choice. We always like to find a place frequented by locals when we're in a new city. This is literally a hole in the wall place off the beaten track. I was so excited, especially after reading the reviews. The terminology used on the above the counter menu got me going. When you order the pizza it's by the cut. That's a rectangle about 2"X 5". The price is 1.35 - 1.40 plus .25 per piece if you want an extra topping. We ordered 8 Red cuts. The very nice woman manning the counter asked us if we wanted it with onions (they put it under the mozzarella). I answered whatever the right way is to eat it. Well we waited for close to an hour. While waiting we were brought 2 sample cuts. One was a potato cut the other an onion cut. Both were white cuts no tomato sauce. Very nice of them only they didn't heat them up. They told us these were made earlier but everything else is made to order. We watched as about 20 people came in to pick up their orders. All were obviously old customers that loved the pizza. Well we didn't. I ate two cuts my wife ate one. Now I know it's what you like. To me there was very little taste to this stuff. We wound up giving the remaining 5 cuts to a nice lady picking up her order. To tell the truth I've had tastier frozen pizza baked at home. I'm truly glad the locals support these nice people. read more

Nice little neighborhood shop, like when I was a kid! Small menu and run by mom and pop. "Regular" cut is cheese, sauce and onion. I had meatball parm, very good and was under 6 bucks for 12' sandwich. In discussing the pie with the staff I was given a cut to try, loved it! read more

Out of all the pizza places in Wilkes Barre, this one is my absolute favorite! I've tried both their red and white pizzas and both are so rich and delicious, the way they melt in your mouth. My husband loves their wings and prefers theirs over any other restaurant. The owner has on occasion given us free things to try, like when we hadn't yet tried their white pizza they sent home a slice with our order and we were hooked! They are slightly more expensive than similar pizza places nearby but their food is worth every penny. read more

This is the best pizza in the entire world. I just got it again on the way back to Philadelphia. My great aunt owned a pizza place in Old Forge and hers was only a close second (sorry Aunt M). Victory Pig is a maybe third. I've been eating the Ceccoli's Pizza since I was a kid in Plains so it could be slight nostalgia, but my Philadelphia born husband it agrees it is the best!!! read more

I'm a Jersey Boy and a huge fan of PA, Old Forge style pizza. So far, Ceccoli's has the best. When I was visiting my aunt a couple weeks ago, she told me it was in walking distance. I took the walk and it was well worth it. I'll be taking that walk every time I visit! I've had only the red but heard the white is so good it will make me cry.
