Well boy, did she ever. We were all expecting a cake with a banjo design on the icing; instead what she created was just amazing. She replicated an entire banjo including the neck with strings, tuners, the works. And on top of that made a second cake out of cupcakes with an airplane picture on top for my birthday as we're all pilots. And to top all that, the cake itself had to be one of the most delicious we've ever had. Just amazing. If you're looking for goodies for your next big event, look no further than the treats that Karen makes. You won't be disappointed.

I'm from out of town and stopped in quickly to check out some desserts. The first thing I see upon…read moreentering is a dog on the counter, scratching itself...IN A BAKERY. If that's not some kind of health code violation, I dont know what is. But pickings are slim in this tiny town and the business appears to have ok reviews, so I thought maybe this wasn't a daily occurrence and it was out of the ordinary. The woman at the counter was very rude and standoffish, as if I did something wrong by walking in at this time. I noticed the prices and figured they must be pretty good because everything was priced quite steep. Well, I would have preferred dog hair than what I found upon taking the second bite of a very bland, very outdated cupcake. Outdated like stale with icing that was stiff as a board. I was soon struggling to pull out of my mouth what appeared to be a long, blonde human hair that was wrapped up in the insides of my cupcake. Before you say it belonged to me, it absolutely did not. I know this because my hair is short and very brunette.I dont care who you are, that will absolutely make you gag. I threw out what remained after 2 bites, and it didnt hurt my soul by any means because the cupcake sucked, quite frankly. Hard pass from this visitor, never again.

Got the plain glazed and a couple of the cream filled ones and they were still warm, like you could tell they hadn't been sitting around all day the way most places do it. The guy behind the counter (Ago) was super sweet, chatted with us for a minute and recommended some of his favorites. Coffee was solid too, nothing fancy but exactly what you want with a fresh donut. Place itself is small and kinda no frills but that's part of the charm honestly. It's the type of local spot you wish was in your own neighborhood. We ended up going back the next morning before we drove home lol. If your anywhere near Monticello just do yourself a favor and go. You wont regret it.

The owner was there and told us he took over the business in January and that he is working on fixing things up. This was our first time here and it certainly won't be our last. The mini golf course is so much fun and it's cheap! As of June 2024 it's $6 a person and it's one of those older courses with something at every hole instead of just green. We went a Saturday morning it was threatening to rain so we had the whole place to ourselves. After golf we had to try the ice cream everyone has mentioned in their reviews. The cheesecake soft serve is probably the best I've had. Hubby got some donuts and said they were pretty good too. There is a shop too but it looks like they were selling down on stock to change how that's set up. Interested to see what they do with all the space.
