I have done all kinds of fitness training throughout my life...dance, weight lifting, cardio, pilates, barre. But I felt frustrated by the offerings I was finding in my late 40s. I wasn't focused on weight loss (I'd ditched diet culture years earlier) and I wasn't interested in a quick fix. I wanted to be strong, capable, flexible, and steady. Now, a few months after working with Emiko, I'm all of those things and more! I feel at ease with challenging fitness tasks and move through the most strenuous part of my days with no problems at all. I recently completed a hike that used to leave me panting and aching...this time, I sped up the hill and felt the power and possibility in my muscles. When I first started working with Eliana, I complained to her of spaciness/mental fog, neck…read moretension/pain, the way my face had become visibly lopsided, and the cost of frequent chiropractic visits. All of these complaints were the result of two cervical injuries I incurred during my reckless youth - injuries that had been recently aggravated by a case of whiplash. To begin, Eliana guided me through some assessments and gave me very specific exercises to do including some that involved working my left hand. These movements prompted me to remember a TIA (mini-stroke) that I had a year prior and had forgotten to include in my medical history. The main effect of this TIA on my body was an inability to move the fingers of my left hand, so I was very impressed that Eliana was able to identify this weakness through her assessments alone. I've been having sessions with Eliana now for four months. We're on opposite coasts, but I feel very seen and cared for by her via the Zoom platform. She is a very focused, knowledgeable practitioner. Her instructions are clear and her style is relaxed, natural, and delightful. I've been devotedly doing my exercises (except on the weekends when I visit my beloved), and I am beyond pleased to report that I am thinking very clearly. In addition, I am holding my chiropractic adjustments for longer periods of time, experiencing less tension and pain, and most surprising to me - my mouth is much less lopsided! My goal is to regain complete balance again, and I feel confident that we can achieve that. On the basis of these wonderful results, I whole-heartedly recommend Eliana.
