I have been religious about my time with Studio Flo because I want to ensure I have a strong foundation, especially as I enter menopause. Every single woman, babies or babies, requires special attention to their pelvic floor once menopause hits. In the last several months I have seen a true difference in my function as my previous symptoms have lessen. This is all thanks to the teachers at Studio Flo who have a deep understanding of the human anatomy and what it takes to strengthen from within. They have spent the time correcting my form and going the extra step to explain and show things when I needed the extra help. I cannot recommend Studio Flo enough. And it's such a wonderful class whether you are new to yoga or a 20 year practitioner like myself. The traditional classes are easy to follow and I just love the positivity of the instructors. They care for us students. They hand out signs that say whether you want adjustments or not. I opted to have adjustments and it helped me get into positions so much better. The classroom itself is brand new. It has infrared lights and soft lighting within class. The floors are soft even with a thin yoga mat like mine. Also, what an awesome location within the Del Mar Highlands community. It's next to Pvolve and Revel. Ample parking behind and in front of the studio in the lot or parking structure. I love any type of fitness class and have been taking them for years! I used to teach group fitness myself and now am a certified personal trainer. The facility is very clean and located conveniently above Vuori in the Del Mar shopping center. It provides lockers, multiple restrooms and places to change before or after class. They are a relatively new location so I understand that some instructors might be new to teaching larger groups of people. With my experience I hold compassion for instructors who have technical difficulties, might be nervous, or even ones who are trying to find their own personality as a teacher. However I took Tamara's class Tuesday night at 4:00 pm and was extremely disappointed. With my knowledge and experience I found the class completely unsafe, unorganized, and chaotic. I could barely understand her instructions, even though she barely provided any. Her form for every move was wrong and I felt bad for people who are not as experienced in fitness learning from her. I don't enjoy bashing on fellow teachers but this was not safe. The beginning of class there was no introduction other than "This is not a yoga class so save that for another time." I understand that this class is structured to be more of a HIIT or strength class with dumbbells but there was no disclaimer or proper introduction done. We went straight into movement with minimal to no explanation as she continuously went on her phone during the class. Her form was incorrect 90% of the time which I find unprofessional to let someone who isn't trained properly to lead a group of people wanting to learn. Throughout the class she clapped, said scripted encouragement that made no sense, and checked herself out in the mirror. She gave no attention to her students and what they needed. The whole room looked lost and uncomfortable. One woman left in the middle of the class and the instructor said to the entire class "Wasn't there someone here? Is she okay? Why did she leave?" Throughout the class I was shocked. None of her students seemed invested in the class or fully understood what was going on. There was no structure, planning, and there was an extreme lack of education on teaching. I honestly don't normally leave classes myself but I did around 40 minutes in. For patrons who paid for the class I think it is truly unfair. I would love to keep trying out the studio for the rest of the week because I don't want one poorly trained instructor to ruin the location of this brand. I recommend to whoever is managing the studio to reexamine her teaching styles and techniques so you don't lose potential clients.

I've done Pilates/ Lagree enough to know sort of what I'm doing and I've been to multiple studios. The class and instructor were good, no complaints. I do think the reformers need work, they have torn leather (how can they be properly wiped down?) and some have a half soft/half hard front platform that's seems uneven and unsafe. There's also some that have a hard front platform with a loose pad on top which seems unsafe to stand on as well. I saw a business response to another review about these issues and the response said the reformers are "vintage" to match the beach location and I think that is really weird, they need to be kept in good repair.
