Terrible experience!!!! I've stayed at Amerihost 2-3 times prior as my daughter lives in the area…read more It wasn't the nicest hotel I ever stayed in but it was adequate for my needs. Also, I never booked a prior reservation until this time. Looked up the Amerihost online and thought I was making the reservation on the Amerihost website for 10/9/26 check-in. Turns out I was covertly directed to a booking agent website, which wasn't clearly explained. The booking agent website made my reservation for 10/8/26, the same night that I was making my reservation from my home in Tennessee, 10 hours away from Amerihost!! The next day, I'm I was 3 hours from Amerihost and called them to inform them I would be checking late and was told my reservation was made for last night (10/8/26) and they had no rooms left for 10/9/26. The assistant manager Annie was not at sympathetic with the situation and even told me, "we have no control over the booking agents and do not contract with them to make reservations." She absolutely refused to refund my credit card nor was she open to hearing any further discussion with me on the matter. You would think that a privately-owned hotel like this would be more considerate and customer focused. Not Amerihost!!!! In reading more reviews of Amerihost, a lot of other people have posted very unfavorable comments and reviews. Do yourself a favor and do the research for yourself. Steer clear of Amerihost at all costs.

Owned now by the Finley family, this hotel may not have all the most modern convinces, but it does have something most don't; It's haunted! Thankfully, yes, they have an elevator, yes, your room has air conditioning. Yes, it has a mini fridge. The beds are big and soft! However, the phones are located out in the halls, and the last modern update seems to be the installation of the elevator in the 60's. If that bums you out, I was on the third floor and had no idea they had an elevator, and bringing up luggage up three flights of stairs? That's part of the past that can STAY in the past, far as I'm concerned! This is a family establishment, and they do have things like coffee or silverware, just ask at the front desk. As a pro-tip, the owners DO NOT discuss the hauntings UNTIL you have spent at least one night there. I asked for the most haunted room they had, but it was booked, so I got another room known to be active. I was woken up several times during the night for no reason, and did spy a little boy who wasn't there when I turned to tell him to go back to his parents. When I checked the hall, it was empty. . .

For those paranormal enthusiasts it's reported the Lowes is haunted, especially certain rooms. We met a few patrons who were also staying in the hotel & claim a little boy can be witnessed riding a trike down the hallways as well as an old man who mysteriously shows up walking the halls, although we saw nothing of the sort. The Lowes Hotel is quite old but it's clean, neat & has everything you need. My wife and I highly recommend staying there.

"We have 5 people but are totally fine with getting one room and sleeping one on the floor." Most hotels tell us "I'm sorry, you have to buy two rooms for double the price." If we're lucky, some hotels tell us "That's Okay. We have spare bedding too if you would like." But this hotel was so bold as to shatter the status quo. They dared tell us "That's ok! We have a cot bed and bedding we can roll up there for you too!" Who does tha!?!? Good people do that! Staff was VERY friendly and helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty! When we got to the room, it was very nice and clean. Beautiful view. Large fridge (large for a hotel, at least) and a stove. Free freshly baked cookies in the lobby as well as water and lemon water. Elevator was a little slow, but the stairway didn't look like a great place to commit a murder, unlike most hotel stairways (don't ask me how I know ). Clean indoor pool. We tried taking one cookie each, but tuat didn't go over well with the staff. Here's how that conversation went. "Caleb, did mom and dad want a cookie?" "No, Braden, they did not." Hotel staff replied, "Please! Take some extras anyway! We just baked them and we only have one more arrival today!" Can you believe that? Check in was a five star experience at least, and I'm not one of those people who leave five stars at everything. I usually leave 3 or 4 stars for exceptional experience. But when I awoke, everything was a blur, as if - oh, false alarm, I hadn't put my glasses back on yet. We headed downstairs to a free well-stalked breakfast. As a Southerner, I found the gravy to be far from remarkable, but for what it's worth, it tasted good. The manager kept coming up to people to ask them how their meal was. There was a nice coffee machine with strong but compostable lids. The staff upon checkout was very polite and wished us swfe travels. Overall, this is a great place to stay for a quick overnight or a week-long trip to the nearby popular hiking and nature parks.

Came here with my friend and her mother for a single night stay as part of a friend's wedding. I was surprised to see a Holiday Inn in this area since it isn't particularly populated, though I certainly appreciated it being here! The rooms are clean and well-appointed, and any amenity you might need is either already in the room or available at the front counter. I somehow managed to forget to bring an iPhone charger (arguably the most important thing you should bring on any trip) so I went up front to see if they had one on offer and, sure enough, they offered me one right away. I half-expected them to ask for my driver's license or at least room number before entrusting it to me, though they were super casual about it : "It's fine, you can bring it back whenever you're done with it!" Wow, that's a breath of fresh air! The complimentary breakfast here was very nice and had a variety of warm options (not just cold cereal or basic oatmeal like many hotels try to pass off as a meal), and I dutifully returned the charger to the front desk prior to departure, with them accepting it back as casually as they had issued it. Maybe that's more about the nature of people who live around here, though I appreciated it just the same! While I didn't use the pool on this occasion, it did look very appealing, as did the landscaping around the hotel. I was very pleased with my short visit here and would gladly do it again if offered the chance! Overall: 5.0 stars ---- Pros: - Excellent rooms with everything you'll need to keep you comfortable. - Clean rooms, common areas, and parking lot. - Pleasant (and trusting) staff. - Great continental breakfast, actually worthy of that title. Cons: - None. You pay more for Holiday Inn than you would elsewhere and for good reason: they provide great value and ensure you're well-rested and in a good mood for whatever rigors tomorrow holds for you!

Firstly, this is the best and friendliest staff I have ever known. The GM is hilarious and made time to make sure everything was right in my room and even brought me goodies to snack on even though I couldn't- I'm on keto, but they were very tempting snacks. Ok, so let me tell you about the room. Girl, the room had the most perfect bed I have ever slept on. If I could have figured out a way to smuggle this bed out I would have. I'm kinda like the Goldilocks of hotel beds and this one was just right. So right in fact that when I went to lay down for just 5 min before unpacking my gear it sucked me in and I slept for 2 hours ! That never happens! The tv was actually larger than my 50 inch at home and had great channels. This one hotel has messed up my entire theory of hotel cable. Maybe it's an anomaly, but in all the years I have been traveling for my career the equation has been the better the hotel is the shittier the cable. Well thanks for proving me wrong this time, Hampton Inn! The room itself was excellent. They gave me a handicap accessible room on the first floor and it was the first room when one walks in- as all handicapped rooms should be. Why most hotels put them so far down the hallways I'll never know. This one did it right. Getting a late checkout wasn't an issue, either. In fact they offered it to me. The best part of my stay had to be the giant picture of cows behind the front desk welcoming me into the hotel. Yes, cowss. I love cows and the cow picture just made me smile as I avoided the fresh, hot cookies. Corporate, leave that cow pic alone! Thank you so much, Hampton Inn! I will stay here next time I'm anywhere close.

GM Chip's many condescending comments were not well received and will not be tolerated. Instead of offering to help move to different flagged hotels 1/2 mile away I wasn't aware of, Chip said the only rooms avail were at some nasty roach motel 2 doors away that I wouldn't stay in without an armed guard. Just when I thought Chip only treated me like a moron, upon loading car to leave, another gentleman stormed out extremely upset. He said GM Chip just treated him like a fool and refused to book the 15 rm block for a later date even though front desk showed rooms available. He said after clerk confirmed availability and he was going to pay deposit, Chip came around the ofc corner and told her not to book the rooms for his non-profit group because they may not be available. This guy was fuming. I can see why. Chip's style and demeanor are unacceptable. This hotel may be financially successful, but I assure you it isn't due to his people skills.

I called a few days before our trip to check availability, and based on the size of our family, the lovely woman who answered the phone found us a suite, which is slightly larger than the regular room. Basically, the same thing, except it had a pull out sofa as well. Ok, so let's start with the basics. Plenty of lighting. Working AC unit with a wall thermostat that was linked to it. Endless hot water. Washer and Dryer available on the 3rd floor. Vending machines on each floor with different options (including cold /frozen items on the first floor). Clean sheets. No nasty odors in the room. Pool wasn't huge, but we didn't use it. It was swarmed with kids as the weekend came, but that's to be expected. If you forgot anything, they offer complimentary items like toothbrush, toothpaste, razors, shaving cream, and various items to stock the kitchenette. Good sized closet with a safe inside and a huge (edge to edge) mirror for a door, and one of the up close and personal mirrors in the bathroom to see all the imperfections on your face . DirecTV in the room. No room service (no food that is, because there is no restaurant). After checking in, the lady was by herself when I called down to ask for 2 cribs and more towels. She said it would be a little bit because she was by herself, but was knocking on our door in about 5 minutes flat, with a big smile on her face. She came back moments later with the second crib, and asked again if we needed anything else. The cribs were so clean, one still had the foam wrap on it. Various crib sheets and covers we're also provided in a sealed bag, which was nice. Plenty of parking, and the lot has recently been resealed and repainted. The complimentary hot breakfast was amazing. Yogurt, various milk, hard boiled eggs, fruit, various breads, hot cinnamon rolls, muffins, a push-button automatic 2 pancake maker (my oldest son loved this), various omelettes (cheese, egg white, Western) or scrambled eggs (alternated back and forth daily), pork and turkey sausages, biscuits and gravy, various cereals, oatmeal with various toppings, coffee, hot cocoa, various juices (orange, apple, cranberry). Ok, seriously, you'd spend $10 per person easily for this type of spread elsewhere. Plus, the ladies that handled the service each morning were fantastic people. They offered bags or trays when needed, quickly refilled items that ran out, cleaned up tables quickly, and interacted with everyone, especially our kids, which is important to us. The only gripe was there was a small fly issue every day, but what do you expect in a well-lit room near exits with all those tummy foods around. Maybe they could get one of those unobtrusive fly zappers up on the wall? But it wasn't a big deal, seriously. The latch / deadbolt was broken when we arrived to our room, but once I remembered to tell the front desk late one night, they had someone up the next day, after asking me what time would be good for someone to come by. Housekeeping was on point. They knocked one day, not knowing our youngest two kids were napping (obviously that's why they knock, because it has to be loud enough to hear from in the shower or with a loud TV on), and we're very apologetic and quiet once I opened the door and told them. They removed trash daily, and refilled everything as expected. They did not make the beds one day, because we had personal items on the bed. That impressed me. They must have been taught to not touch personal items. Minimizing potential liability, so that's a good move. Overall a great experience, and we will definitely use this hotel on the next visit.
