I hadn't been here in 10 years but I used adore this place so I wanted to be able to give it a 5 star review. Unfortunately things just aren't the same and I feel like Murphin Ridge Inn has gOne down hill since wine ownership has changed. Our cabin was cute and clean so that's a plus. The mattress was literally almost touching the floor it was sagging so badly in the middle! As another reviewer states I concur if one person moves the whole bed moved it creeks and squeaks and my back hurt for days after I got home. I had gone there for rest and relaxation! But I am fact came home with a sore back. We had no hot water for the until 6pm of our last night. We checkeed inFriday afternoon and at firsts I thought I had ran out the hot water trying to fill the whirlpool tub. It was the same furniture and the same fixtures from 10 years ago so I assumed it didn't work well being so old! I left it alone I over night and when I couldn't ya are a shower the next day I called and they sent someone over. He told us he couldn't fix it right now and had to go to town to get parts. If I ran a place like that I would have spare parts on hand so that my guest didn't have to do without hot water! We never heard from management or the owner until we went over for dinner after taking a cold shower. He did buy our dinner that night which was $63 I still couldn't tell you his name because he never even bothered introduce him self. I don't think $60 really covers the $240 a night at the cabin cost even though the website says it's $225 during these times of the year. But I do appreciate the gesture! Service was horrible the second night we waited 22 minutes for the server to come back so we could order dessert and when he never came back I just asked another server for a box and left! I assume it was the owner that was cooking because he spent five minutes explaining to us how his pork chop was the best in the entire world. He also said if we could find a better one he wouldn't believe it! I thought the pork chop was dry! The ribeye was good the first night though. Breakfast was meager and very small portioned. We didn't bother going to breakfast Sunday morning because it was more important to use the hot water then to eat the hamburger meat they called sausage. To say I was disappointed was an understatement! For that kind of nightly rate everything should be perfect. The next time we want a weekend getaway we will simply just go to Hocking Hills and rent a nice cabin with a hot tub on the patio which is totally doable for $240 a night! I feel like I wasted my hard earned money. We won't ever be back!

The cabins are quiet and cozy but I prefer the rooms on the first floor of the lodge where the windows face the sunrise each morning. Each room has Amish style furnishings and is always clean and comfortable. Dinner at the inn is a great experience. They specialize in beef, pork, chicken and seafood while also having wonderfully prepared vegetables. I've never left a vegetable on my plate. Soups and desserts are on a heavenly level. Tonight's chocolate cheesecake was to die for! Their wine and cocktail list is also excellent with very good wine prices. Breakfast each morning is a taste of farm goodness. House made sausage, a variety of egg dishes, and/or pancakes are a welcome start to each day. This weekend we stayed mostly in the room due to the pandemic but there are sights to see in the area. Miller's Furniture and bakery has excellent sandwiches for a picnic lunch and lots of beautiful Amish furniture. There are hiking trails on the property and many more in the area. Check out the Edge of Appalachia Preserve System which has several trails a short drive from the inn. West Union is also a cute town with an old fashioned soda shop at Blake Pharmacy. It's a getaway, a great escape, and a reminder of the good things in life.

Great hotel option for those looking for comfort and excellent service; Holiday Inn Express is well…read moreworth it! Came here with my friend and her mother for a single night stay as part of a friend's wedding. I was surprised to see a Holiday Inn in this area since it isn't particularly populated, though I certainly appreciated it being here! The rooms are clean and well-appointed, and any amenity you might need is either already in the room or available at the front counter. I somehow managed to forget to bring an iPhone charger (arguably the most important thing you should bring on any trip) so I went up front to see if they had one on offer and, sure enough, they offered me one right away. I half-expected them to ask for my driver's license or at least room number before entrusting it to me, though they were super casual about it : "It's fine, you can bring it back whenever you're done with it!" Wow, that's a breath of fresh air! The complimentary breakfast here was very nice and had a variety of warm options (not just cold cereal or basic oatmeal like many hotels try to pass off as a meal), and I dutifully returned the charger to the front desk prior to departure, with them accepting it back as casually as they had issued it. Maybe that's more about the nature of people who live around here, though I appreciated it just the same! While I didn't use the pool on this occasion, it did look very appealing, as did the landscaping around the hotel. I was very pleased with my short visit here and would gladly do it again if offered the chance! Overall: 5.0 stars ---- Pros: - Excellent rooms with everything you'll need to keep you comfortable. - Clean rooms, common areas, and parking lot. - Pleasant (and trusting) staff. - Great continental breakfast, actually worthy of that title. Cons: - None. You pay more for Holiday Inn than you would elsewhere and for good reason: they provide great value and ensure you're well-rested and in a good mood for whatever rigors tomorrow holds for you!

I have stayed in many really good and even great hotels throughout my time as a comedian and I must…read moresay that the Hampton Inn Washington Courthouse in Jeffersonville, OH is my all time favorite. Firstly, this is the best and friendliest staff I have ever known. The GM is hilarious and made time to make sure everything was right in my room and even brought me goodies to snack on even though I couldn't- I'm on keto, but they were very tempting snacks. Ok, so let me tell you about the room. Girl, the room had the most perfect bed I have ever slept on. If I could have figured out a way to smuggle this bed out I would have. I'm kinda like the Goldilocks of hotel beds and this one was just right. So right in fact that when I went to lay down for just 5 min before unpacking my gear it sucked me in and I slept for 2 hours ! That never happens! The tv was actually larger than my 50 inch at home and had great channels. This one hotel has messed up my entire theory of hotel cable. Maybe it's an anomaly, but in all the years I have been traveling for my career the equation has been the better the hotel is the shittier the cable. Well thanks for proving me wrong this time, Hampton Inn! The room itself was excellent. They gave me a handicap accessible room on the first floor and it was the first room when one walks in- as all handicapped rooms should be. Why most hotels put them so far down the hallways I'll never know. This one did it right. Getting a late checkout wasn't an issue, either. In fact they offered it to me. The best part of my stay had to be the giant picture of cows behind the front desk welcoming me into the hotel. Yes, cowss. I love cows and the cow picture just made me smile as I avoided the fresh, hot cookies. Corporate, leave that cow pic alone! Thank you so much, Hampton Inn! I will stay here next time I'm anywhere close.

You can hands down say that if somehow this hotel pops up with a good rate, you ought to book it. It wasn't exactly cheap ($160/night) but I wasn't liking the looks of other hotels in the area. Rooms are clean and new. Hotel is quiet. Staff was friendly; they let me check in before 3:00 - what more could I ask for? They also have free WiFi, a mini-gym and a business center. P.S.: the front desk clerk said they're a pilot program for fresh breakfast. They don't serve pre-made, microwaved food: it's prepared in a real kitchen the same morning. Looking at pics and being familiar with PTACs, this thing hasn't been cleaned in a couple years. No wonder entire room smelled like rancid mildew. GM Chip's many condescending comments were not well received and will not be tolerated. Instead of offering to help move to different flagged hotels 1/2 mile away I wasn't aware of, Chip said the only rooms avail were at some nasty roach motel 2 doors away that I wouldn't stay in without an armed guard. Just when I thought Chip only treated me like a moron, upon loading car to leave, another gentleman stormed out extremely upset. He said GM Chip just treated him like a fool and refused to book the 15 rm block for a later date even though front desk showed rooms available. He said after clerk confirmed availability and he was going to pay deposit, Chip came around the ofc corner and told her not to book the rooms for his non-profit group because they may not be available. This guy was fuming. I can see why. Chip's style and demeanor are unacceptable. This hotel may be financially successful, but I assure you it isn't due to his people skills.

I don't think I've ever seen any hotel do it more cheaply. The waffle machines are behind the bar - but on a Wednesday morning, the attendant said that only she could use it but they were too busy today. However, my husband and I were the only people there. We were given a TINY plastic plate to pile on cold scrambled eggs, cold raw bacon, any toast or biscuit you wanted. I had decided to have oatmeal, but the EVEN TINIER plastic bowl was so small that there would be no way to stir it. My husband did try to make his bran flakes so I got a picture, for reference. Coffee was Walmart pods - blah! The 2nd picture is of the coffee pot in the room. It is totally rusted - and dirty. I shared with the front desk that their coffee pots wouldn't rust so quickly if they didn't place them on the already small bathroom counter by the sink. That space is needed for us anyway! Loved the room, air conditioner, FABULOUS bed and the ambiance of the whole place.
