We wanted a place close to several Southern Ohio Points of Interest and it is very well located to Hillsboro, Bainbridge, Pike Lake State Park, Rocky Fork and Paint Creek. When we arrived, we were greeted by Jane & Doug - the proprietors. We immediately felt at home and loved the whole place. We stayed in the Rose Room, which was great. The room was comfortable, large and the bathroom was nice too with a great shower! We spent time with Jane & Doug talking and learning about their farm and getting a tour of the entire house Doug has built for them - what an amazing talent he has for woodwork. It was interesting to learn that the wood used in the house from trim to floors came from trees on the property - most of the wood had never left the farm. The house has tons of room for much larger groups and I could see us taking other family & friends for a weekend getaway in the future. We walked the property, which was really beautiful and even got to go on a golf cart ride a couple of times. There were homemade chocolate chip cookies and milk in the evening and in the morning Jane made us a true farm style breakfast that included coffee, orange juice, eggs, sausage, stewed apples and homemade scones - YUM! One other treasure is Luke, their 4 year old Golden Retriever, he only added to the warmth of the experience at this secluded getaway. My wife and I have travelled all over the country and stayed in dozens of places during our 22 years together and I can say on behalf of both of us, this place is a treasure if you are looking to get away, relax and meet some very nice people. You can visit or disappear to a cozy chair and read a book or take a nap - the experience can be whatever you decide to make it. We left feeling like we'd known them for years. In the cabin, we spent the evening relaxing, listening to music from the CD player (several CDs were provided in the cabin), nature walking, and actually talking without distractions (like TV). . .The bedroom is in a 2nd floor loft space with the bed sitting underneath a window that overlooks the Coyote Creek. . .A truly wonderful touch is Alice (the owner) who brings homemade breakfast at 9am. Our breakfast included orange juice, fresh fruit, sausage, and a french toast casserole with blueberries baked in it and cup of maple syrup. The breakfast was served piping hot -- and tasted wonderful.

My opinion of B&B's has always been that at the end of the day, you're just a guest in someone's home, but I never felt less than welcome and comfortable. Sherry & Wesley were both so friendly and welcoming, actually sat out by the carriage house with Wesley and his son and enjoyed a nice cigar and was treated to some very pleasant wine. The House was dripping with history, the décor was so amazing, I found myself just sitting and looking around as if I were sitting in a history book photo. We were there on a bike trip with another couple. The house is right off the Xenia Paths. They had secure storage for our bikes and a place for them to plug in. The price was more than reasonable. If you're looking for a B&B, do yourself a favor and book this place. We WILL be back.

This Huntington B&B is a bit misnamed. There are two rooms, a well appointed living room and a…read morebedroom with a queen size bed. There's a small kitchen and the bathroom is good. There is a view of the Ohio River from the couch (that becomes a bed) through a flood wall opening that provides a nice view over a static Pullman car that's part of the visitor center. The HVAC is quiet and efficient. The Chessie Room is on the second floor of an historic building and one must climb stairs to get there. The TV is awkwardly located in the bedroom but is offset by excellent WiFi. The breakfast part is a chit to Butter It Up! in the Market Square on 3rd Avenue, a 15 minute walk away but with a parking lot behind the building if you don't want to walk. If you do hike it you will pass Pullman Square and several restaurants that you may want to try later on. The menu is worth the walk. From the Chessie Room it's a ten minute drive to Ritter Park, as fine a city park as will be found anywhere. Value wise it's very good, in part due to the location, and in sort due to the comfort of the Chessie Room proper.

I was expecting to see it from the road but if you look close you will see a sign, then you turn and follow the road down and around and you will find it. Virginia's house is on one side and the log house on the other. We stayed in the downstairs room. It was huge and clean and comfortable. The entire log house has interesting decor and is super cute. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The property is large and fun to wander around. The location is great because you are close to Columbus and to nearby hiking and outdoor recreational areas.

My girlfriend and I had never stayed at a bed & breakfast before but she wanted to try one so we…read morefound the Bailey House Bed & Breakfast online. We had to go to a wedding and a graduation in the area so we booked our trip with Nancy via email. When we arrived we were greeted by Nancy's daughter and showed around briefly, then to our room. They have the cutest little dog and a couple of cats which are lazy and very friendly. Our room was huge, very nice and very clean. The bed was very comfortable, much more so than just about any bed in any home-away-from-home that I've stayed at, the only comparable bed would probably be the beds at Hampton Inn (which will cost you about $159 a night I might add). We were the only ones staying the first night and were able to name our own breakfast time, we chose 9am. The next morning we woke up to the smell of bacon and went downstairs for a wonderful breakfast of fruit plate, apple-french toast and bacon with juice and tea (neither of us drink coffee). We spoke with Nancy for nearly two hours about the area and really enjoyed our time just sitting and talking. The next day we had another wonderful breakfast before departing. Our first experience with a bed & breakfast was a great one. I think we were very fortunate to have chosen such a beautiful historic house run by such a wonderful family. As a side note as a techno-addict I appreciated the fast, free wi-fi (fast enough to stream Netflix). Unfortunately with our wedding and graduation we did not have time for a proper tour of the grounds and the area but since my girlfriend has family in the area we most certainly plan to come back. This is a fantastic value for the money and far beats anything you will find in a hotel, in cleanliness, comfort and value. And what hotel that you stay at is going to have such a cute Pomeranian to eat breakfast with? I loved the place so much I tipped Nancy generously and I would recommend everyone else do the same, you shouldn't have any problem affording it with the money you save from staying at a Holiday Inn!
