Mind you, our rooms are directly above the front desk, so yes she may have heard them walking around but if it's that big of a deal, they should make it be known the suite rooms are NOT kid friendly! We only got two towels per room, couldn't get any more unless you turned in those two. During breakfast in the lobby, my son had to use the restroom so he tried using the lobby bathroom, but apparently that one is only for employees on some days.. weird because the day before we used that restroom all day because the one in the pool area was absolutely disgusting ALL day. I could go on and on but I'm just letting you know, customer service at this location is just absolutely awful and I wouldn't waste my money! I know I will not be returning.

The owners name is David Stephen's and he doesn't do any maintenance at all. There are 10 rooms and the showers didn't work in 3 of them. There are exposed wires and smoke detectors with no batteries, just plenty of cockroaches in them. The motel is ran by a couple who live there. There are drugs in most of the rooms. I would strongly advise anyone with children, or decent folks to avoid . We had lots of breathing problems while we were there, probably because the walls are full of black mold. Sorry folks, just being honest.

"We have 5 people but are totally fine with getting one room and sleeping one on the floor." Most hotels tell us "I'm sorry, you have to buy two rooms for double the price." If we're lucky, some hotels tell us "That's Okay. We have spare bedding too if you would like." But this hotel was so bold as to shatter the status quo. They dared tell us "That's ok! We have a cot bed and bedding we can roll up there for you too!" Who does tha!?!? Good people do that! Staff was VERY friendly and helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty! When we got to the room, it was very nice and clean. Beautiful view. Large fridge (large for a hotel, at least) and a stove. Free freshly baked cookies in the lobby as well as water and lemon water. Elevator was a little slow, but the stairway didn't look like a great place to commit a murder, unlike most hotel stairways (don't ask me how I know ). Clean indoor pool. We tried taking one cookie each, but tuat didn't go over well with the staff. Here's how that conversation went. "Caleb, did mom and dad want a cookie?" "No, Braden, they did not." Hotel staff replied, "Please! Take some extras anyway! We just baked them and we only have one more arrival today!" Can you believe that? Check in was a five star experience at least, and I'm not one of those people who leave five stars at everything. I usually leave 3 or 4 stars for exceptional experience. But when I awoke, everything was a blur, as if - oh, false alarm, I hadn't put my glasses back on yet. We headed downstairs to a free well-stalked breakfast. As a Southerner, I found the gravy to be far from remarkable, but for what it's worth, it tasted good. The manager kept coming up to people to ask them how their meal was. There was a nice coffee machine with strong but compostable lids. The staff upon checkout was very polite and wished us swfe travels. Overall, this is a great place to stay for a quick overnight or a week-long trip to the nearby popular hiking and nature parks.

I was surprised to see a Holiday Inn in this area since it isn't particularly populated, though I certainly appreciated it being here! The rooms are clean and well-appointed, and any amenity you might need is either already in the room or available at the front counter. I somehow managed to forget to bring an iPhone charger (arguably the most important thing you should bring on any trip) so I went up front to see if they had one on offer and, sure enough, they offered me one right away. I half-expected them to ask for my driver's license or at least room number before entrusting it to me, though they were super casual about it : "It's fine, you can bring it back whenever you're done with it!" Wow, that's a breath of fresh air! The complimentary breakfast here was very nice and had a variety of warm options (not just cold cereal or basic oatmeal like many hotels try to pass off as a meal), and I dutifully returned the charger to the front desk prior to departure, with them accepting it back as casually as they had issued it. Maybe that's more about the nature of people who live around here, though I appreciated it just the same! While I didn't use the pool on this occasion, it did look very appealing, as did the landscaping around the hotel. I was very pleased with my short visit here and would gladly do it again if offered the chance! Ok, so let me tell you about the room. Girl, the room had the most perfect bed I have ever slept on. If I could have figured out a way to smuggle this bed out I would have. I'm kinda like the Goldilocks of hotel beds and this one was just right. So right in fact that when I went to lay down for just 5 min before unpacking my gear it sucked me in and I slept for 2 hours ! That never happens! The tv was actually larger than my 50 inch at home and had great channels. This one hotel has messed up my entire theory of hotel cable. Maybe it's an anomaly, but in all the years I have been traveling for my career the equation has been the better the hotel is the shittier the cable. Well thanks for proving me wrong this time, Hampton Inn! The room itself was excellent. They gave me a handicap accessible room on the first floor and it was the first room when one walks in- as all handicapped rooms should be. Why most hotels put them so far down the hallways I'll never know. This one did it right. Getting a late checkout wasn't an issue, either. In fact they offered it to me. P.S.: the front desk clerk said they're a pilot program for fresh breakfast. They don't serve pre-made, microwaved food: it's prepared in a real kitchen the same morning. Instead of offering to help move to different flagged hotels 1/2 mile away I wasn't aware of, Chip said the only rooms avail were at some nasty roach motel 2 doors away that I wouldn't stay in without an armed guard. Just when I thought Chip only treated me like a moron, upon loading car to leave, another gentleman stormed out extremely upset. He said GM Chip just treated him like a fool and refused to book the 15 rm block for a later date even though front desk showed rooms available. He said after clerk confirmed availability and he was going to pay deposit, Chip came around the ofc corner and told her not to book the rooms for his non-profit group because they may not be available. We checked in at the front office where we were greeted politely and were given instructions on how to get to, enter and use our sauna pod. The Pods are located right across the street from the Chalets so I was worried at first about having adequate privacy but once we entered the Pod I felt I was transported to the middle of the woods. My favorite part of the Pod was that it was Bluetooth equipped so I was able to play some folk music over the speakers to enhance my woodsy experience. Towels and bottled water are also provided for you in the Pod. We booked an hour, which I thought might be too long in the heat for me personally but after taking the recommended breaks, it didn't feel long enough. We emerged from our Pod soaking in sweat but refreshed and with every endorphin in our bodies firing. It was a fabulous experience!

While I spent a good amount of time outside of my cabin (Laurelwood), I also spent a good amount of time there. It snowed a lot so I soaked up the giant window views, enjoyed the hot tub, and lots of relaxing. My only big complaint was that of the cabin itself. I couldn't figure out what it was but the entire building was just loud. Like so loud, I couldn't sleep. Had I known, I would have brought ear plugs and trust me, I have them thanks to living in the city. Despite not being able to sleep my two nights there, and constant loud ass humming all throughout, the rest of the experience was solid. The space was comfy, included all the necessities, and they even plowed the driveway after the snow. I love coming here and the Chalets are a great choice. I just might ask about the sound issues on my next visit.
