Located just outside of Lucasville, the rest area serves both North bound and South bound traffic. It has full restroom facilities, including a family restroom, and a nice lobby with map and regional brochures and advertisements. The Rest Area has a picnic areas, vending machines, and can accommodate cars, trucks, and commerical trucks. It's also a great "pet stop" if are traveling with a pet.

The Walk is sponsored by Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and the Ohio Dept of Transportation. Fran DeWine endorsed the walk. The walk offers a great break for travelers with kids. The site is as clean with easy on/off access.

It's in Gallia County on US35 westbound so I'm just gonna go with that. this is a modern rest area with running water indoors and electric lighting all over and cold beverages in season. plenty of parking for cars and trucks and all sorts of room to run yourself silly. when you're done with that have a seat on one of the benches or under a picnic shelter. try to leave the place as tidy as you found it. remember that we're all in this together even if we arrived in separate cars.

It's almost like walking through a small arboretum. Educational displays identify native trees, flowers, grasses, and shrubs, making it far more interesting than your typical interstate stop. Inside, the theme continues. The walls are filled with displays highlighting communities, attractions, parks, and destinations around Central Ohio and across the state. As you're heading north toward Columbus, it's almost like Ohio is introducing itself before you arrive. Most rest areas are places to make a quick stop and get back on the road. This one is worth taking a few extra minutes to explore. Nicely done, Ohio.

There was a large mat upon entry into the building and a worker that greeted us to warn of the need to be careful. The ladies restroom was exceptionally clean and had a convenient handicap accessible stall. My husband reported that the men's restroom was also clean. After using the facilities we found a rack with informational brochures that were of interest. Access back onto the Interstate was easy and we proceeded with our trip.
