We come to hocking hills often and thought checking it out would be could so we could potentially book here. Unfortunately, staff declined helping or accommodating us in any capacity. We weren't welcome at the pub or to make a dinner reservation. Then I asked the assistant what options were around in the area and she played dumb. It felt like phony, unprofessional and not helpful. This place should be open to the public and strive to have better customer service and be a bit more welcoming. I recommend staying at Amongst the Trees, instead or cut above cabins.

I brought my husband for his birthday weekend, and we had such a fun, relaxing time surrounded by the peaceful scenery. We were greeted with beautiful celtic music playing as we entered our accommodations. All the areas of the cottage were clean and inviting, and we couldn't wait to unwind in front of the gas fireplace after unloading our belongings. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub- surrounded by vibrant hues of red and orange leaves glowing in the sunlight. Wrapped in the provided robes, we sipped wine in front of the large picture window in the living room, soaking in even more of fall's beauty. On the night of his birthday, we enjoyed a six course dinner that ended with the whole dining room singing him "Happy Birthday", which made him incredibly happy. Afterward, we took flashlights and went on a night walk on one of the trails behind the cottages. Our two night stay was magical. The effort that goes into making Glenlaurel a dedication to its Scottish roots was evident in every detail of our stay and we truly enjoyed immersing ourselves in the experience.

Room- smaller than expected but not a big deal. 1 lamp didn't have a bulb in the bedroom. Floors creak all over. There's several weak spots in the floor that you sink in if you are caught off guard. Huge bathroom and shower. Plenty of towels. I had no bags in my trash cans. The TV situation- local channels. You can log into Netflix and YouTube. Those are your only 2 options. If you're staying for longer periods, you may wanna consider bringing a Roku or something similar. Their WiFi is free but they also have an internet package for $5 to get the better quality for streaming. Amenities- pool is small. Gym is fairly large and clean. Huge breakfast sitting area. There are booths and tables. There is one washing machine and one dryer on the 2nd floor. I posted pics of the prices. Fire pits are on the back porch area (we didn't use them but they're there) I do NOT like the fact that the breakfast girl has two tip jars sitting out. I think it's a bad look on the hotel. You're not serving us, taking our order or anything for a tip. As I made my plate each morning, she was hovering behind me to wipe behind me even though I didn't make a mess. It's too much. I've worked in hotels before and know the process for breakfast. I would never ask for tips. I was paid hourly for doing my job. Overall: was in town for work. Overall they were super friendly and helpful when needed. I'd stay again but I think it needs to be updated for sure.

Stopped by this branch to break some large bills into some change so we could play cards. Myself and one of my friends walked in to do this simple task. My friend went first and explained what he wanted. She asked for his driver's license and proceeded to work the transaction. Another teller was there and she came from the drive threw area (behind the desk area we were standing at). She asked what I needed and explained I just wanted to break two twenties into change and handed it to her. She asked for my ID, so I instinctively gave her my Retired Military ID. She got to her computer and asked what my zip code was. I provided the info to her. She then asked if I had an account, to which I answered no. I've never needed an account for change at any other bank I've gone to. She then stated that I required an account to complete the transaction, I'm sure I gave her a very puzzled look. She gave me my cash and ID back and asked who was next. This only leaves me to believe a couple of things, since the teller completed my friend's request he had no account at this bank and he's from a different state as well. She either saw my zip code came up as a Califonia zip code and decided not to help me, or because of my beard and darker than the rest of the town's complexion. The bank was clean and well-lit with the normal ambiance you'd expect from such an establishment, minus the awkward stares from employees inside offices.

When you check in they charge you for renting a safe in the room and indicate you can have the charge removed when you leave. Then when you attempt to have the charge removed while checking out they tell you the system isn't working and they will fax a request to have you refunded through the corporate office. Then later when you call the corporate office they will have no record of your stay and the corporate office tells you to call the local motel. Then the motel tells you they will offer you a discount on your next stay. SMDH Buyer BEWARE. These folks are small time hoods! I imagine the profits they rack up taking 3 bucks from each room each night add up to a nice sum every month. Not to mention all the migrant works screwing loudly in the adjoining rooms throughout the evening.

When running AC the air got damp to the point our feet left behind trails on the wood floor. No mini fridge even though it was in the photos. Water pressures a joke. Some flying bugs in the room. Area is behind another hotel so less road noise but area and people super sketchy. Good: friendly staff, Ice machine worked and have vending machines. Tv worked Spend more money elsewhere especially if in town for a concert or football game as they raise the price accordingly.
