Good stop for travel. Dakota who checked us in was great. Very nice and helped us figure out issues with our rewards program. Room was clean and bed was soft. The shower had the best pressure and temp. Super nice for when you need a hot shower before you get on the road again. The breakfast ladies spent more time bitching to each other than refilling things. Apparently supplies were low and every person who was there was going to know it. Not a big deal but I brought my food to my room so I didn't have to listen to them. Maybe Dakota can train them on how to smile and welcome customers. It didn't make or break the trip. read more

This Hampton Inn was especially nice. The bed was so comfortable. The room was clean and bright. There was a mirror over the desk so I could do my hair seated. There was a fridge and microwave. The breakfast was really good and the all-day coffee bar was a treat. It was so worth the value. We had just spent the previous three nights in hotels that were over $500 each night and, in all honesty, I liked this one the best. I slept so well. read more

Free continental breakfast (They did wrap items individually for safety concerns. 3. Plenty of free guest parking 4. Open area to work or relax 5. 24-hour hot water and coffee. We stayed here for two nights in July. Very nice hotel. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy. Nice big shower, no tub. Plenty of towels. Free breakfast in the morning that included hot food. Make your own waffles with toppings! Plenty of variety, something for everyone. Hotel is in a good area with lots of places to eat nearby. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Dakota the desk cleark was very professional and helpful. His mother Linda also works here. They are very lucky to have employees like this they really made me feel at home. The rooms were very clean and they have the best beds and pillows. Endless hot water in the shower. The hot breakfast buffet had everything you could want and more. You can usually count on Hampton hotels to be a great place to stay and this Hampton was great! We booked our room and checked in all on the Hilton app. We used our phone as the room key, so we never went to the front desk. The room was very clean, the king bed was comfy. The room included a mini fridge and microwave. The bathroom was very nice with a large walk in shower, no bathtub. However there was an odd smell on our floor when we checked in. It was gone by morning. The free breakfast was decent. Belgium waffles, french toast sticks, egg scramble with ham and cheese along with the standard cereals, oatmeal and yogurt. There was not nearly enough seating for breakfast, we stood to eat while our kids sat. read more

They made an already horrible event much worse. This is the most inconsiderate, rude, uneducated group of people I've ever come in contact with. First the thermostat in the room says it's 78 degrees, when it's only like 55degrees in the room and the heat would NOT come on at night at all. For a luke warm shower. You have to turn in the bathroom cold water, FULL BLAST, to defer some away from the shower to get a tiny bit if heat. There was a smell coming out of the heater and turned out to be a massive amount of mold blowing in all over the room when the Air came on during the day. They keep it 60 in the hotel during the day with no way to control that. I lit an incense stick to get rid of the mold smell in the room and the Hotel is saying that's considered smoking and charged a fee. So, smell mold and get sick (which I did) and just TOO BAD, is the opinion of the Managers during the day. The T.V. has NO setting adjustment and is set so dark that only game shows can be watched. The wifi, is only available for 20 minutes then you're prompted to pay 5 dollars a day for the same exact internet. This place is like a big party hotel for the locals. People running up and down the halls all night fighting and a dog barking across the hall everyday, while those people went to work for 10 hours, leaving the dog to drive everyone else crazy. Forget about asking the dirty blond manager for any help she just provides a list of other hotels, smiles and says it ain't our problem, people need to live. Don't think she even knew who she was. Just high and drunk the whole time, I think. The management is just straight up discusting with how they treat the travelers like they were not wanted there. I didn't want to be there either (family emergency) But they didn't have to treat me like I was garbage. DON'T WORRY HAMPTON, I WILL NEVER BE BACK AT ANYTHING YOU OWN. I will investigate first. It's really SAD the people that are allowed to be rich and powerful in this country. I could never treat m people like that while taking Hundreds and Hundreds (close to a thousand) dollars. For a week of pure Hell.Only By The Staff (managers), themselves. There might be a lawsuit coming on the heals of this. This Hampton Inn is probably the best hotel in Gallipolis (which we found out is pronounced GA-LAP-POLICE), and many people must know that because it was sold out on both the Monday and Tuesday nights we were there. The front desk staff was excellent and the complimentary breakfast (with the typical variety as most Hampton Inns), was plentiful and well stocked (as was the coffee at all hours). The rooms were ultra-clean and spacious. However, the furniture and carpet were a bit dated and the really need better lighting in the rooms. Management needs to look into better lamps with brighter LED bulbs. I particularly appreciated the extra outlets/USB ports at the bedside. Plenty of close parking. I would stay here again. read more

Bathroom and bedrooms were nice and clean, I appreciated that the bathing supplies provided were high in quality, and I was thoroughly impressed with the lady that worked the front desk. Definitely the nicest hotel in the area. I believe this facility has been recently remodeled and it has the updated Hampton Inn decor. One thing that I found odd is that the hallway carpet is very lumpy almost as it was laid over old padding or something. They have a decent complimentary breakfast with hot and cold breakfast choices. Again as with other Hamptons I don't like that they use disposable plates and utensils. The front desk clerk was very helpful in providing us with local dinner eateries - a challenge in this rural location. If I'm ever in the area again I'd definitely stay here again. read more

Disappointed in the quality here. I stay in Hilton properties all the time and many Hampton Inns. This one is sub par. Lobby stinks like sewer, walls thin, shower floor not sealed well to the base and make loud popping noises as you move around. I picked an ant off my bed. I was on the 2nd floor and I could hear folks above me walking around and doing their thing. Breakfast was fine and front desk staff were nice and helpful. I did not see or get asked about the "Hilton 100% satisfaction guarantee or we will make it right". Limited hotel choices in this town unfortunately. I would suggest a top floor room if you stay here. I suppose if they added an evening social hour guests might be happier. Good luck! read more

I have really enjoyed staying at Hampton Inn when in town visiting family. The check in staff have always been amazing, there is a huge delicious breakfast buffet with healthy options, the rooms are clean and free of odors, and I've literally never had any problems. It's very nice, new or recently renovated, looks fancy almost. My family and I have stayed here many times visiting family and will always return. read more

After a long day of driving, we read great things about this hotel and wanted to stay here. Let's just say it did not dissapoint. When we arrived it was late and the staff was very friendly. Check in was quick, and we walked into a very well cleaned room. It was spotless, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was quiet possibly one of the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever slept in. The thermostat was very nice too, allowing for precise temperature control. They had a long list of cable options as well. Continental breakfast included hot food options, oatmeal, cereal, juice, coffee, baked goods a fruit which is excellent when you've been eating garbage on the road. If I'm ever on this driving path again, I will absolutely stay again. THE ONLY NEGATIVE THING I HAVE TO SAY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE HOTEL ITSELF BUT THE SEARCH ENGINES (Priceline, Google, Yelp) THE ADDRESS LISTED IS NOT CORRECT. WE DROVE AROUND FOR 20 FRUSTRATING MINUTES TRYING TO FIND THE PLACE. Call the hotel and ask for help or you will never find it unless you stumble upon it. read more

The front staff deserves a 5 star rating. Friendly, outgoing, helpful. Had wonderful dinner recommendations for us based on our needs. Rooms were clean & cozy, but what's up with those towels?! They smelled so bad. Washed with almond extract? Butter scented oil? You get out of the shower, so happy to be clean, put the towel to your face, then wham-o! Grossest scent ever experienced from a hotel linen. On to other things...Pool area was nice, and hot tub jets were strong, but it looked like a bottle of Mr. Bubble was thrown in as I was surrounded by an avalanche of bubbles. The elevator floor during the early evening was quite wet & dirty. After dinner, the water was wiped up or maybe just evaporated since the dirt was still there and was now accompanied by a yellow WET FLOOR cone. This cone was seemingly a permanent addition as it was still riding up and down the elevator at breakfast time the next morning. Ah yes, breakfast. In an attempt to eat healthy, our choices were tasteless and not worth the effort. Oatmeal was bland, cranberry juice was probably just red-hued water, strawberries would never be identified in a blind taste test. Not sure how boiled eggs could be tasteless, but they pulled off that distinction Best there was the Greek yogurt. Thumbs up to Dannon. Other choices abound, so if you're hankering for biscuits & gravy, or have patience to wait behind the dad making waffles for his 6 kids, woohoo, click your heels three times and you may feel like you're eating at home. Come to think of it, there was a woman with her little dog, too, on a leash walking around the food station. Maybe it was Toto. Not sure why that was allowed, but whatever. I was at a Hampton Inn in KY earlier in the week and that one was up to their usual standard. This location needs to be tweaked - start with those towels please! read more

The check-in staff was fabulous. We were exhausted and they were so courteous. The hotel looks brand new, clean, and our own room was perfect. There is a pool close to the main area but there is no horrible chlorine smell. The breakfast was was above what you usually find in a hotel where breakfast is routinely included. The only thing I found wrong was that we were there such a short time. You should absolutely try this hotel! read more
