I had been taking care of my own pool for a few years now and am pretty good at it but as more and more demands on my time came up, I would forget to check the chlorine, or the filter or something and I'd end up with a green mess I had to deal with and still no time to work on it. I called Pike Pool based on reviews on one of these occasions because I wanted the filter cleaned out and had no time to deal with it. Tom came over and looked at my system and was quite honest in that he wasn't looking for a one off job, though he was willing to do it but was interested in taking care of my pool as a regular thing. He would bring everything back to proper condition, and keep it there going forward. I decided to give him a try. I figured I could cancel things in a few months if it wasn't working out. I've seen people who had pool services they were paying for and half the time their pools looked worse than mine did which I took care of for free. Similar experience as others. Tom had two prices. One if I got an automatic skimmer and a higher one if I didn't. I did, and he took care of picking out an appropriate one and setting it up for me. The whole thing was a handshake deal like other people described. He seems like an honest and friendly guy. Long story short, Tom did the work to clean up my pool, and came by three or four times that week and by the weekend when we were expecting company, the pool was pristine. Ever since then, he's been having one of his guys come by every week. They always come. They always do a good job, and my pool always looks great. They even send an email every week with the results of their visit which usually includes the current pool chlorine readings and the PH and anything else they did, as well as a photo of the pool. I really like not having to deal with it anymore, and I enjoy that the pool always looks good if anyone is coming over. People always remark about how nice my pool is. I like that it all just happens, they show up without me having to nag them or even think about them and they just take care of things. They are a little more expensive than some of the other places I investigated, but most of those cheaper places do a half assed job where they are rushing things to get in and out because they need to cover 50% more pools in a day to make up for the lower prices, and your pool wont look as good. Their prices are reasonable. I've kept them on because they do a good job and its one less thing to worry about in my busy life. This review is long overdue. I met Tom in 2015, I wasn't happy with how my parents pool was being serviced. He was easy to reach, get along with and honest. We made an appointment for him to see the pool etc. I had a lot of questions, which he was happy to answer, very knowledgeable and he made the time for me. I wanted to make sure he was legit and wouldn't take advantage of my elderly parents or me. I hired him that day. Now fast fwd 4 ish years, Pike services my pool and a few times a repair was needed, he assessed problem and fixed it. The following is my personal experience with Tom Pike and I let the readers draw their own conclusions. When I first contacted Tom, he had to look at the map to see if my locations falls within his territory even though he has accounts in the same city. Apparently, he draws his own territorial boundary. I made an appointment with Tom to give me an estimate and even texted to remind him. He was at least one hour late (that is an understatement). He gave me a price and wrote it down on his "Agreement" and gave me a copy. It contains the price of monthly service, filter cleaning, conditioning etc. He said if I get my own cleaning equipment such as a Kreepy Krawly, he would reduce the monthly charge by $10. That was a statement he made in passing but not in writing. I hired him on the spot. Because it was the first week of the month, he was nice enough to start the service right there and then. He informed me that he would send someone else to service the pool thereafter. That same day, via e mail, he reneged on the statement about giving me a discount of $10 should i purchase my own cleaning equipment. He said the monthly charge on the Agreement was 'in anticipation" that I obtain my own cleaning equipment. We finally agreed that his employee is to vacuum the pool and I wouldn't be installing my own cleaning equipment as it is bothersome when doing lap swimming. The following week, he sent his employee to clean the pool and I was not present to meet him. The third week I decided to wait for him and introduce myself. By 2:30 p.m, no one showed up. I texted Tom to remind him that his employee had not shown up yet. Finally, he showed up at around 4 p.m. When I went out to greet him, he greeted me with an attitude. He said that he was on his way to pick up his son and Tom made him turn around to come and service my pool. Well, that was part of his route and he should have taken care of my account regardless unless he had a different agreement with Tom. He begrudgingly scooped up the leaves from the pool with a net and hurriedly departed. He told me I should have given him a key to the gate ( which was left unlocked all day). Mind you, this is the first time I met him. With such hostility and attitude , why would anyone want to hand over a key to his/her property? The fourth week, Tom phoned to let me know he could not find anyone to replace this employee and can no longer service my pool and referred me to one of his friends. He would not charge me for the services rendered. My question is (1). if he knew he would not have the manpower to service a new account, why did he continue to accept new business? (2)what good is the Agreement, which is LEGALLY ENFORCEABLE, when he breaches it whenever he pleases at a moment's notice? I was left on my own to find another replacement. Tom has been in this business for a long time. I am shocked that he was so unprofessional and irresponsible. If I could give a zero star, I would have. He is not going to add another 5 star to his reviews. read more

I can't say enough about the integrity of this company. Tom Pike took a look at our old spa, and gave us his honest opinion about what could be done. In the end, we all decided that we were better off getting a new one. Many spa repair services would have been glad to take our money for this loosing cause, but instead Tom gave us good advice about what to look for in a new spa, and refused to take any money for his time.
