The line was too long to dine in but we ordered to-go& it was delicious! My friend said her chilaquiles was the best she had ever tasted.

French toast? Amazing. Birria chilaquiles? Even better. The lemonade was just okay (not bad, just didn't wow me). Overall though, this place is a solid 9/10 -- I'd happily come back and eat my weight in chilaquiles.

Kid-friendly, pet-friendly, Piggy Back is just fun. With a small bakery attached, the restaurant is to the left. Walk inside into an art-decorated spaces with quirky mementos scattered throughout. Two levels, my five-year-old daughter and I went for breakfast on a Thursday in August right when they opened at 9 a.m. Here's our experience: 1) Food: The menu comes decorated in cartoon art and filled with all types of food from traditional chilaquiles (in several ways!) to French toast and hot cakes. There's even a kid's menu with color-coordinated plates. I ordered the French toast and it comes out in four large half slices with berries, berry jam, and oat crumbles on the side. The texture and taste landed right. My daughter ordered the breakfast sandwich and it comes with fruit, three little biscuits, orange juice and potato wedges. She devoured it! 2) Drinks: The drink menu fills two pages. There's coffee, teas, smoothies, and juices. My vanilla latte was sweet and my daughter enjoyed the special strawberry and orange juice. 3) Service: It's efficient and there wasn't a wait to sit or get our food. 4) Space: It's quaint and well-decorated in fun ways, including the restroom.

Lovely place! Try their traditional and non-traditional Chilaquiles, crunchy and perfect for on-the-go!

The cutest place for Sunday brunch! We knew this was a popular place so we fully expected the 45 minute wait at 10:30am. The interior of the restaurant was really cute but it was quite hot in there. To drink, I got the cold brew tonic... it was AMAZING! I'm obsessed. My date got a latte and that was delicious too. We started with a rol de canela... SÚPER BIEN I got the huevos estrellados, it came with a full plate and it was delicious. My date got the chilaquiles blanco and we we're impressed with the flavor and the amount of food on his plate. I would definitely return here, the service was fantastic. I will be dreaming about the rol de canela and the cold brew tonic.

For a place that seems to have a lot of potential we had one of the worst experiences in our trip to Guadalajara. As soon as we got there the guy seating people down seemed to know the people in front of us which area they wanted to sit in, and when our turn came we asked if we could sit in the open area to which he responded, " we don't have anything available in other areas just this one" which I thought, ok, maybe they just got lucky and happened to get that last seats available. They're selection of food seems great everything sounds delicious. My wife and I decided to go with chilaquiles with an addition of egg on top. As well as the cinnamon molletes. They brought my wife's food out without the egg, then they brought out the egg separate in a plate, then they come to me and tell me that my chilaquiles were accidentally given to another table so I had to wait for mine. My wife started eating hers and then after a while I get mine, and as I start eating one my wife tells me she found something in her plate. As I looked closer, it was a RUSTY SCREW between 2-3 inches long!! Finding something like that it would have been for me to make a really big deal about yet I calmly told them about it, even after I lost my appetite. We are on a trip and didn't want to start my morning by causing a scene and arguing. The waitress ,very unbothered just said she would talk to the cooks. The manager comes to the table, very softly spoken, to which I had to ask him to repeat himself because you could barely hear what he said simply told us that the chilaquiles wouldn't be charged. Finding a rusty screw we shouldn't be paying for anything, especially since I couldn't eat mine either. As we paid we tried to keep a decent attitude towards the waitress even tipped her since it wasn't her fault and she did not say a word to us , felt like she just wanted us out of there. Not sure what kind of attitude that is. Overall the worst experience of our Guadalajara trip.

We showed up with a larger group (11 of us). It took them a while to get set up for some reason which is fine. Wait was about 15 minutes. I say for some reason because the area upstairs seemed to have been setup for larger groups already and we didn't see any coke out. They have a cute menu and several options. I wasn't impressed with my dish - I got the scrambled eggs with one of the meat options and it came with a side of chilaquiles. I also got the olla latte with almond milk (it was ok), and the Rosa salvaje cocktail (this was very refreshing, not very alcoholic though). The waiter messed up more than 3 times (took order wrong, delivered the wrong dish and expected the party to figure out how to fix it, missed part of my particular order, almost had to retake the entire order because "the system didn't send it to the kitchen but turned out it did..). I get it's a larger crowd so I could see a few things going wrong but it seemed excessive. When they were telling us about the special of the day, the waitress speaking in Spanish told us a completely different option than the one speaking in English to the table so that was weird. Not really much to do around the area from the looks of where this was so all in all wouldn't go out of the way for jt.

Platillos muy mal servidos, la machaca literalmente como lo sacan de la bolsa seca (según yo así no se come). Omelette de tocino casi crudo Además tardamos más de 30 min en entrar.

Piggyback is a very cute and trendy restaurant with an adjacent coffee shop. There usually is a line to get in, so definitely arrive with some time to spare. It is pet friendly, and the service is great. The main attraction of this shop is the pink aesthetic, the ambiance, and food. I ordered the chilaquiles tapatios which were great with a matcha latte. Overall, the place is great and definitely worth a visit.

Piggy Back is such a sweet spot to check out! It's a 2 story house with indoor, outdoor, patio seating and balcony seating. The staff were great and attentive. They take proper sanitary measures. The food was absolutely delicious and I wish I could have tried the entire menu. Definitely recommend the cafe de olla to start out with.

If you are in Guadalajara you must make a breakfast/brunch stop here their atmosphere is delightful food is amazing and customer service is beyond any I have had in Mexico. You must show up and expect a bit of a wait they are always packed and busy. But once you sit down it's pretty quick. I started with an expresso with milk followed by their special of the day chilaquiles en salsa borracha con cecina encima. Frijoles. Rebanada de queso panela y una quesadilla. And finished off with french toast.

Yes, it's as good as it sounds. I left full but not stuffed or feeling bloated All around the perfect breakfast spot

Food Review: Los Chilaquiles - Guadalajara, Jalisco…read more On my recent visit to Los Chilaquiles, located right in the heart of Guadalajara, I arrived a bit past the traditional breakfast hour, but I was seriously craving some good huevos rancheros and a comforting café de olla. Thankfully, both absolutely hit the spot. Café de olla is a classic Mexican coffee traditionally brewed in a clay pot (olla), infused with cinnamon and sweetened with piloncillo--a deep, rich unrefined cane sugar. The result is a warm, aromatic, slightly spiced cup that feels like a hug from Mexico itself. Their version was delicious. To complement it, they offered me conchas con nata, which was such a treat. Conchas are iconic Mexican sweet breads known for their soft, airy interior and crunchy shell-like topping. Nata is the thick, silky cream that forms when fresh milk is gently simmered--rich, smooth, and perfect for spreading. Together, it's a simple but heavenly pairing. Right away, I noticed that the atmosphere of the place feels warm and inviting--relaxed, friendly, and full of that authentic Guadalajara charm that makes you want to stay a little longer. The service matched the atmosphere perfectly: attentive, kind, and genuinely welcoming. They started me off with a trio of homemade salsas, along with Mexican crema, queso cotija, and a crunchy homemade tostadita. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtful. As I looked around, I even noticed photos of well-known personalities who have visited, which makes sense--the food and experience truly stand out. Overall, Los Chilaquiles delivered amazing flavors, excellent service, a great atmosphere, and that authentic touch that makes breakfast in Guadalajara unforgettable. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.
