Oftentimes, greatness is found off the beaten path. Tucked on the southern side of town lies a quant Italian restaurant named Piazanos. When first arriving in Lincoln I was told to go to the pizzerias down on O Street near the University. Although those Italian restaurants are great, they do not offer the same quality of ingredients and great price that Piazanos offers. In addition Piazanos offers gigantic serving sizes. The calzones are large enough to fill a grown man and the pastas could feed two all for a reasonable price. While waiting for your dish to be tossed up and cooked, take a stroll down memory lane while playing classic arcade games like Mrs. Packman. Piazanos is definitely a place to visit while in Lincoln. read more

Their pizza has a great crust to toppings ration, and they have a very large list of toppings. I am a guy that eats pizza often and would say I am aware of the difference between thick and regular crust. However, I got a large pizza last night and it was obviously thick crust. I called them and was told that the dough was fresh so it rises more and ends up being thick. No offer to make it right after I just spent $36. We ate some of the pizza and it was ok at best. Not really any flavor. Not worth it in my opinion and it is nowhere near as good as it was with the previous owners. read more

I've always been a fan... in fact I just live down the street and it's the only place I order from. The last three times I've ordered I've been really disappointed. First time I neglected to order a thin crust so totally my fault. What was delivered was a very heavy dough pizza.. it was mostly dough. The second time I remembered to order thin crust and it came and was pretty dang good with the exception of the cheese.. it was melted but that was about it. Last night I ordered a half combo and half italian sausage, creme cheese and green olive. I think the quality of ingredients has gone way down.. the italian sausage used to be spicy.. this time not at all and again the cheese was melted but not ooey-gooey or slightly browned.... it seems the pizza's could stand to be in the oven for about 5 more minutes. read more

We haven't ordered from this place in about a year, so we decided to give them another chance. They didn't fail to disappoint. Yes, we ordered a cheese-free pizza on purpose, but here's the problem. It took nearly two hours to be delivered (we live just down from them, in the same neighborhood), and when it arrived it was room temp, if I'm being kind. We had ordered it well-done, which it wasn't--in fact, it was doughy. And look at the toppings. Squishy potato, desiccated mushroom bits, and sparse patches of minced green pepper. Disgusting. We took one look at it and deemed it inedible. Points to the manager who, quite rightly, agreed we shouldn't be charged. But, after waiting past 10pm, we are left with no dinner and a garbage bin full of pizza. At least you all now know what your pizza looks like under all that cheese. Impressive, no? Give me a break! It may be the "best" pizza in town, but all the pizza in Lincoln is pretty BAD! The only thing good about piezano's is that it finally inspired me to have my favorite pizza shipped same-day air from Chicago. Sure, I'm going to pay a heavy fee for shipping, but it beats the salt-lick flavor of Lincoln's "best". Words of advice for Piezano's: an overly salty sauce does not equal flavor!! After the two occasions that I ate here, I did not have to drink any liquids for what seemed like a week -- a strange phenomenon for someone who uses a bicycle for his primary mode of transportation. Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh towards Lincoln's pizza offerings and dishonest about who makes the "best" pizza. There is a small shred of good to be tasted in Big Sal's on 27th. It's not amazing, but it's a much better product than Piezano's and every other pizza establishment in town. read more

This some serious pizza! I don't typically lime thick crust, however this is seriously awesome! For one, typically 2 pies don't go very far... however these things are monsters. The Caeser's Pie is delicious. My wife and I shared a "family" size, which comes out in an 8-inch Pyrex dish. It is really delicious. I've only had their pizza once, and it was good...but salty. I think overall their red sauce tends to be on the salty side. My wife and I want to try the pizza again and order toppings that aren't salty too and see if that makes a difference. Service was good. It was a bit slow, but they were busy. Prices are very reasonable. read more

The pizza was good but the crust was too thick for our liking. We got the pepperoni cream cheese and chicken Tuscany. We thought they had pretty good flavor but was definalty over powered by the excessive amount of crust. Also, we had it deliverd. We were told it would be an hour but it took 2 hours. Piezano's had some of the best Pizza in town! They still have great toppings and cheese, but their crust is not good. It's about 5x too thick and it's tough and chewy. It makes it difficult to enjoy the other stuff, with all that doughy crust. It's too bad, they had a good thing going. read more

This place is hit and miss. I live close by so I am not generally put off by substandard service but enough is enough. I have ordered pizza and had it explained to me that they really don't know how to make their deep dish ( this was by the person taking my order ). This was after I asked why my previous deep dish was not well cooked in the middle. I have had this pizza correctly cooked and it is delicious. I just don't know if I am going to get jekyl or hyde. Tonight we pulled up to eat in their dining room ( which is not a very nice room ) and were unable to get a word from any of the wait staff or someone at the counter. We stood there awkwardly for about 10 minutes then decided that this was just too weird. I am sorry Piezanos but figure it out, you have a good product when you take enough care. we order pizza from Piezano's quite frequently and we think it's the best pizza in town, particularly now that they offer a thin crust. their regular crust is way too thick. as in, way too thick. the toppings are fresh and authentic, as in, real hamburger, real sausage, not those pre-made little nuggets that have only GOD knows what in them. we have had the C-shells before and my son used to order a calzone quite often back when he still lived with me, and he was crazy over the C-shells as well as the calzone. huge portions, generous and genuine toppings on the pizza. this is just really good food and you don't feel cheated. like some pizza places have almost no toppings, but that is not the case with piezano's. read more

I used to get pizza from here quite often. It's been a while and I decided to get piezanos because I used to feel they had the best pizza in town. I ordered a pepperoni, onoin, and sausage pizza the other night and after taking forever to get my pizza, it was the wrong one. When I finally got my pizza it barely had Italian sausage on it. More slices didn't have sausage on it than did. It was a really poor experience and hope it was just a fluke. I will try one more time and hope that things go better. Originally I thought that their pizza was actually really good and was excited to find a better pizza place in Lincoln. Unfortunately, I just found a STAPLE hidden under the cheese of the pizza I just got from them. I don't know how their kitchen could manage that, but I can guarantee I will never be ordering from them again and I'd be worried what else ends up getting cooked into their pizza. Three of us gals went after work for a nice get together. The Mostaccioli, Pepperoni-cream cheese & Meat combo pizza and Piezano sticks were out of this world. Our waitress, KariAnn was wonderful. You could really see that she loves her job. She made us very comfortable and had us laughing a lot. What a great experience. All the staff were very nice and greeted us as we came in and left.
