I really wanted to like this place! How can you beat homemade noodles right? Even though the waitress was friendly, our party of seven waited 35 minutes to get our orders. The noodles themselves are good and clearly fresh. $8.00 for a regular portion and $11 for a large serving. The protein add-ons, which had a $3 up-charge, were unfortunately lacking. My husband received three bites of sausage. I ordered the salmon for my protein. There was less than two tablespoons of smoked salmon. My Mom got chicken, which comprised three bite sized pieces. It felt like they were running out of food. The sauces were just okay from a flavor perspective. I had a vegetarian tomato which honestly could have used more salt, garlic, basil and oregano. My husband said his beef sauce was also lacking in flavor. All of the tables were full of customers. And even though the space is small, it would have accommodated a few more tables, which would have immediately benefited the restaurant. While we were there we overheard the waitress explain the wait time and transition some customers to "to go orders." The waitress kept our drinks re-filled and comped us two creme brûlée's for the table (it was my husbands birthday). But my father-in-law was disappointed they were out of the lemon tart as well as the chocolate mousse, both of which we're still listed on the dessert board. Sad face. We were told they would get their dessert order tomorrow. They were charging $6 for frozen desserts they were mostly out of- (not impressed). We suggest the management get a license to sell wine, as that would have been a nice addition to the meal. We support local businesses and we really want this business to succeed, but they need to fine tune their pricing/portion sizes, i.e. if the tiny amount of protein just came with the $8 or $11 pasta dish instead of being up charged I would have been more satisfied. read more

I'm starting with 3 stars. The building is lacking ambiance, music, decorations, but I am sure that they will make up for it in fresh made quality. It's hard to bust heir chops in the first week of being open. This is definitely not a franchise. But a small local business starting up. It takes time to improve the establishment and perfect the choices. Was able to review the pre-opening menu. And the menu was changed islightly to add clarity. I spoke with the executive chef prior to opening He stated that all pasta and sauce is made fresh in-house every day. Cost - start with the $6 or $8 bowl of pasta, gluten free is available . Add protein (5 choices)for 2-3 dollars. A meal for one will run from $8-$12. A salad will set you back $8 They don't have Hours posted so i asked and posted it to yelp They opened March 13 or 14. I came in for Monday lunch with a Latino friend of mine. The pasta of the day is fettuccine or gluten free. Being home made, only one type of pasta is made daily. We ordered a large creamy bacon with Italian sausage and my friend the small portion of creamy four cheese Being new, I asked if they had a way of providing a small sample of each of the sauces and the waitress said they were already portioned out for large or small sizes. Asked for a sample of the Asian curry and the cook was quite vocal and annoyed about making a sample. It took almost 25 minutes from coming in to getting our food. Mind you, no one else was in the restaurant. Because of the flooding in Nebraska and the city of Lincoln's water reduction mandate. Our meal was provided with the finest in plastic ware and disposable cups. That will change when the water conservation order ends. There was a noticeable size difference between regular and large. I am surprised that they don't have a child's portion. The proteins, chicken and Italian sausage were properly cooked without any significant seasoning. We were surprised that we got a sample of the creamy curry sauce. Given the cooks hissy about making a sample. (Your new, everyone wants a way to try your different sauces, make a sampler plate) As there are more than 19 different types of curry. This one is more of a mild yellow curry. No heat, not too much twang but quite flavorful definitely worth trying The creamy bacon was a bit pasty, at the end there wasn't a single spoonful of sauce to be had. The bacon was subtle and not overpowering. Occasionally there would be a tiny chunk of bacon. The creamy four cheese pasta was a again not saucy, but pasty. The cheeses seemed to be overpowered by Parmesan and a bit salty. There were some very flavorful shavings of cheese. Towards the bottom, the cheese got denser and as the other order not a bit of sauce left. The garlic bread served with the meal. It was quite good but a bit overpowering over the subtle flavors of the pasta. If you only have a half hour lunch, this is not the place for you. If you want fine dining with a glass or two of wine with your meal, this is not for you. This is definitely not a franchise. But a small local business starting up. I love the idea of handmade pasta, but for some reason I just didn't love it. Prices are extremely reasonable. It's hard to find a $6 lunch that makes you full. I ordered the spaghetti with sweet tomato sauce for my son and fettuccine with vegetable sauce for myself, both in a regular size portion, which was enough to fill us up. The veggies in mine were fresh and delicious. They also gave us complimentary cheesy focaccia bread. If you're salt-conscious it may all be too salty for you. I was reluctant to come because when I read the names of the sauces I felt confused. (I'd personally rename a few of those.) I think the concept is odd. When I hear fresh pasta, I want it to be Italian - but it's not Italian at all. I don't want to go eat pasta at a pasta place where they have an Asian orange sauce on the menu... it tells me that my tastebuds have little in common with those of the cook who devised this menu. Instead I want four or five well-executed traditional Italian sauces, I want to be offered San Pellegrino or wine, and I want to see a cannoli or some amaretti or biscotti offered with a cup of espresso for dessert. Just the idea of that makes me want to drive to Havelock, but as it is today, I probably won't be back. Stopped in and checked this place out as it opened only yesterday. While it is apparent they still have a couple of bugs to work out, I will say the pasta is out of this world. I had a Large Bowl of Fettucine pasta with Creamy Bacon Sauce and Italian Sausage. Easily the best Fettucine I have ever had. They make all of their pasta homemade and it shows. The menu is a little sparse as they are focusing ONLY on pasta and the place has a "hole in the wall" feel which is a positive in my book, The Havelock location is great and adds a much needed restaurant to that area. If pasta is your thing, check them out and support them. Hopefully, they will expand their menu selection and grow into a thriving, long term business in that area. YUM! Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. The was good. The prices were very reasonable. The timing was fairly prompt. The spinach artichoke dip was ridiculously rich, creamy and delicious. The hubs ordered a large spaghetti with tomato sauce and meatballs. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was flavorful without being overly sweet or tangy (the hubby wanted more tang apparently?). He somehow polished off the entire serving. I ordered a regular fettuccine (again, cooked perfectly) with creamy pesto, and oh my goodness. It was SO freaking good! Since we had the artichoke dip and the garlic bread that comes with the pasta, I had leftovers (which heated up well). This certainly wasn't a light meal but, damn, it was good! read more

The Pasta Place makes kick ass pasta - all made on site, including the gluten free. My favorite sauce is the sweet Asian sans spice. Prices are reasonable. AND they can do take out: just call in and pick up! The only thing I don't understand is why there are so many negative comments, especially from last year, that are the first thing one sees on Yelp. This little Mama/Papa is a sweet place with excellent food for a good price. I am guessing the nay-says are the two chefs that were fired last year not too long after start up. Sour Grapes! I want this place to succeed! It's a neat concept and the pasta and service are fantastic. We tried a few different dishes and while they were good, they could use a little more flavor, and maybe some vegetables cooked in with the pasta. A regular size is plenty -- large is a lot of food. The salad was made with fresh vegetables and homemade balsamic! It wss AMAZING! The pasta was fantastic! I got the four cheese sauce with chicken and bacon as my meats! I can highly recommend the pasta. We went there with another couple and so were able to try four completely different dishes. Each one was delicious although the pesto cream and the marinara sauce were my favorites. Is it a simple atmosphere? Yes. Is the food good? Yes. Are the staff super friendly and helpful? Yes. I especially liked the two portion sizes and the ability to customize your pasta by adding a protein. We would go there again and in fact will go there again as it is on our way home and picking up a take-out is a delicious dinner solution! The garlic cheese bread was my husbands favorite. Went there for lunch. Came back with a group of my friends. Pasta is made right there, not frozen or pre-made. The gluten free pasta was best I have eaten. Had a scrumptious vegan lunch for less than I would pay elsewhere. Staff is friendly, atmosphere is hometown. This is where I will bring friends, visitors, guests for lunch or dinner. First time dining here. People were friendly, it wasn't busy at all at 7:30 on a Friday. There is zero ambiance in the place...like none at all. Limited menu, no alcohol. Good pasta. TINY PORTIONS!!! And your tiny pasta bowl is $15 with a protein! I didn't mind the atmosphere. Minimalist in a very old building. The above door window air conditioning unit dripping on me. But the food portions and prices need to be fixed. I would also recommend expanding the menu. No appetizers were listed. There is one pasta choice per day, which I get, but the only options are 4-5 sauces and 2-3 proteins and salad. Where are the meatballs? Where is the bread basket? Mozzarella sticks?
